  1. A trust account in the name of Melissa Styles, widow of Const. Styles, has been set up at the Police Credit Union, located at 18025 Yonge St. in Newmarket. The account number is 2000014 York Branch. The transit number is 63612
  2. He can be tried as an adult... And can be sentenced to 25 yrs..or if he's tried as a youth I think the max he can get is 8 or 12e
  3. If today's sentencing of the piece of crap that d/c rob plunket...the kid who did this will get no more than a slap on the wrist...you kill a cop, you get 7 years instead of 25
  4. i didn't know him, but a good friend of mine worked with him for a few years and said he was an incredible guy.
  5. it was a senseless loss of life....i can't say anything about the details but it was something that should have never happened
  6. A York Regional police officer has died after being trapped under a vehicle during a traffic stop east of Newmarket. The officer, a male in his 30s, was on duty at a highway stop on Hwy. 48 near Herald Rd. when he was struck and trapped under his police cruiser. He managed to send out a call for help to York police. Emergency crews were on the scene around 5 a.m. and the officer was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Hwy. 48 is closed from Davis Dr. to Mount Albert Rd. due to major police presence as the investigation continues. The OPP is advising motorists to expect the closure to remain for most of Tuesday. It was a tough way to wake up this morning. I didn't know him, and but a friend of mine knew him. He was a great guy and a father of two young children. Rest in peace brother. Hero In Life, Not Death
  7. Thanks but there are 700+ different sections of the criminal code, 400 sections of the highway traffic act not including the regulatiosn and a miriad of other statues that are enforced...do you really think i have absolutely everything memorized? no, thats why i carry a criminal code, an hta, and several other books in my duty bag while I work...not even lawyers or judges know every law....and if you actually think that other coppers or lawyers do, you need to give your head a shake. I've admitted to my mistake, i'm only human, i'm not a freakin computer and the OP was about the storage of a pellet gun, not whether or not i knew what a nonrestricted, restricted or prohibited firearm.
  8. And go figure the ar-15 is prohibited but the ar-10 isn't....
  9. Keep and mind, if you bore out the barrel suddenly you have a firearm Pointing a firearm and possessing one are two different thing
  10. Well if you read what I said, possession of it is no different, I never said pointing at someone, that's completely different
  11. if it's rendered inoperable then it's not a fire arm.... no different than having a starters pistol
  12. nope...i gave those up cold turkey...been clean for 3 yrs lol
  13. depending when he owned it...possession of an AK was legal
  14. although a paint ball gun can be considered a fire arm (depending on the circumstances), once you are playing it, in the proper environment and you're wearing the appropriate safety equipment then you're fine.... same with items on the prohibited weapon list like nunchuchu and throwing stars...if you're walking down the street with them they're illegal, but if in a dojo where using those items are a part of your art then you're okay...bear spray is legal too, if you're in the woods lol.... but it becomes a weapon if you spray someone in a bar
  15. i'll be working....come visit me at Milne Park in Markham i take a coffee with one milk
  16. i've never seen deer in that area before...i usually see them further southwest in the city along islington ave south of highway 7...ton of deer vs car collisions
  17. Police kill deer inside Subway restaurant in Vaughan Andre Walker was waiting for his bus in a shelter at Major Mackenzie Drive and Keele Street on Tuesday afternoon when he heard a crashing sound behind him and feared some violent event had just taken place. It had. But when he ran over to the Subway restaurant in Vaughan’s Maple Lanes Plaza where cries and shouts were coming from inside, it wasn’t the bodies of men he saw. It was the sight of a young deer, lying bloodied on the floor, its head moving, and seeming to be attempting to crawl, Walker said. Glass was strewn inside the store from the impact of the deer crashing through the window and there were customers and staff inside. “I’d thought maybe somebody had had a disagreement in the store and maybe threw something out the window,’’ said Walker, 18, a Vaughan resident and Seneca student. “I never expected to see a deer,’’ said Walker, who was there when York Regional Police came and were forced to shoot and kill the deer, which suffered severe injuries when it went through the window. “You could tell it was suffering so they had to put it down.’’ Walker said he didn’t see the deer before hearing the crash. Bruno Stirpe, who owns the property where the store is located, said one of his employees called him and told him what had happened. The deer had suddenly appeared near the plaza and “got scared by a car and ran through the window.” Police were immediately called and were there quickly, he said. No one seemed to know where the deer came from, Stirpe said. The area is well developed with retail and residential buildings but there are still pockets of wooded areas nearby. “I’ve owned this property since 1973 and I have never seen a deer,” he said. Representatives of his insurance company were on the scene Tuesday and Stirpe said they would be disposing of the deer’s body. Police said there had been no prior calls reporting a deer in the area. They called the event “very unusual.” Record news services
