  1. I only use the open face spinning reels. (Never tried a bait caster yet ... my bad) For Bass = 12# Stren Superbraid. Tried a few other braids and had some bad luck with Spider Wire of the same Pound-test, but it could have been a bad batch. Seen using the stren for a couple years now with no problems. For Pike and Musky - 80# Power Pro exclusively so far, but that's only been a few years since I started targetting these species.
  2. Attaboy Mike. Never seen a paddle fish ... cool lookin' fish.
  3. Weclome aboard Jigit. You just gotta get yourself out there ... somewhere ... anywhere. Then come back and post a few pics and a report. I'm a good one to talk here, as I've still not ben out once yet. Dag-gone honey-do list. But, I hope to wrap up the big items in the next week or two (Yeah ... right ... Ha Ha Ha). Take a day and go.
  4. Gerat shots TJ. Just love those scenery ones. Mountains, huge trees, the rugged shore line .... beautiful.
  5. Good one MJL. Just like we clean up the trash from around our fishing spots, we can also clean up the trash in the water. Dispose of properly .... dead that is.
  6. Welcome aboard hefish. I've always heard that the only stupid question is the one that's not asked. Hope you can get out soon ... we love seeing pics and sharing of reports. Daggone it ... I gotta get out one of these days.
  7. Another prayer comin' your way. All the best as you wait the results and we continue to pray for the very best. Keep us posted.
  8. One very nice report Mike. As I was reading you you talking about cooking up an awsome meal ... I was already thinking of pics. Sure enough ... you didn't disappoint. I'll best that was a great tastin' meal. Man I'd love to do something like that some day. Thanks for sharing.
  9. Great report Jedi. Kinda touch conditions, but you made out very well.
  10. What ???? Only one birthday pic ? I can't believe that. Have a great one Buddy.
  11. The one guys pulling up the anchor does have a bit of concern on his face. Good for you jigatolla. Hopefully they'll be getting a visit soon.
  12. Looks like a nice stretch of whater there and plenty of species to keep things interesting and the fisherman guessing. Cool pics.
  13. Great day guys ... Congrats.
  14. Kinda reminds me a bit when we flew into Zurich as few years back. But that can't be it.
  15. Congrats BF. Looks like everyone is doing well and all full of smiles. That's the way we like to se them.
  16. Loved it Corn Nug. Quiet Serenity .... What a great time you guys must have had. Thanks for posting.
  17. Great report there. You're making my mouth water with the fish fryin' up there. My father spent some time in the Algonquin Park a few years back, just taking some wildlife and scenery snapshots. I can see why he liked it there. Never did a camping trip like that and I'll bet I'm missing out on some great fun. Thanks for posting.
  18. I think Wayne posted something like that a little while back, but hge was off to Paris. Hey Wayne ... did you make it ?
  19. Sometimes it takes a close call or a close call to a friend. After last year, and the loss of a friend this year in a boating accident, I plan on wearing mine all the time. Hoping to pick up a couple of those auto/manual PFD's next week-end from BPS.
  20. Welcome aboard peps. I kinda like some good pass and pike fishing myself. Pass by the Georian Bay each year for our annual two week outing on the French. Great country you have up there ... great country indeed.
  21. Welcome aboard. Whether fishing from a pier, the bank, whatever, take your three kids out, catch some fish, and post the reports and pics here. We'd love to see a great family outing. That can be some great quality time with the kids. My neighbor likes to fish and had his two young grand-daughters out at a local pond yesterday and came back with some HUGE perch. The kids had a blast. Welcome aboard and glad you registered.
  22. Dig that awesome cup holder
  23. That's great news and that everyone is doing well.
  24. Rick - I voted no, not to restrict. I can certainly see both ways on this issue, kinda tough. 1). I can see your point on those who may consistently receive, but give nothing (or very little). There are a lot of members here who give, give, and give more ... to anyone at any time. Loads of great folks on here and this is why OFC is basically the only forum I participate in and visit regularly. 2). On the other hand, if we block parts of the posts from visitors, or may I say 'potential members', would that drive them away ? If you would access this forum, only to see things blocked out, could you really get a sense of what we're all about ? Seeing the posts, reports, pics, and such ... maybe that would get some folks excited about joining up and becoming active. Not sure, maybe this would only reflect a very small percentage of the visitors. Even so, by becoming a member, that does not imply an active role in the board. Tough question Rick ... you're making me thing to hard at this hour. Probably good and bad points on both sides of the question. The more I read, and re-read, and re-read my item number 2 above, maybe I should have voted for members only with a minimum number of posts. Yeah ... I should have voted for members only with a minimum number of posts. My head hurts now.
  25. Welcome aboard Don. Agree with the others in a very nice intro. Next report will be full of beatiful pics .... right ?
