Dem der some nice basses

I used to fish the Madawaska river into the Kamy years ago. Would get many SMB and the odd pike under the bridge just in Combermere. Diamond Lake is another good lake around there. Frogs seem to work the best for bass up that way. Good luck and tell us how it went.

Seems like you got it down to the T Lew. Good job. I borrowed that sunrise as my desktop, Beauty pic. Thanks for sharin.

Atta boy Stoty Keep adding them inches up! Very nice smalljaw

Nice report Keram. Mixed bag you got yourself that day. Good job

Tiger 100%. Beautiful looking fish. It is true that Pike have over ran Darlymple and Canal Lakes, at the detrement of the musky fisheries there. They are in there, however, all that I've caught were tigers but they are extremely difficult to hunt. There are signs posted at the Kirkfield lift lock not to bring over pike into Mitchell and Balsam and I beleive the operator on the liftlock has directions to check the tanks if any got through. Further, the MNR pulls nets through Balsam every couple years to check on pike populations. It is ineveitable that they will find their way into the lake, but programs are in place to slow the proliferation amongst anglers.

You sure landed a good one Monique....and that pike's nice too.

I'm assuming your talking about the fishful thinking release? in that case I just let a 50 incher go, got hung up on the vent in the office ceiling. Told it to head your way. lol Thanks for the kind words all!

Cool experience. Congrats on getting into some Ski's.

But were your arms spread as wide as mine? LOL

Thanks G! Well I got them from Barnie's Band of Gold two weeks ago as I was not originally on the short list to receive the lures. Something had come up for him and he could partake, so I took him off his hands to bear the cross, lol. I would figure that they've been sent out a least 3 weeks ago. Check the mailbox, send Ryan a PM. Maybe your mailman has a new set of lures.

My fave out of the set, Gerritt. The shad raps swim well too.

Wow, I can't beleive this surfaced again. Floated back up to the top of the bowl eh? Well, originally I posted thgis topic because I was in the market for a baitcaster and never used one. I noticed that those who spin left ofthen baitcast right. I took the advice of many as to what you feel is more comfortable and ended up buying a lefty Abu C3 and I love it. Became my new go to rod and reel combo. Now I am to repay all your knowledge in fishing reports. reefrunner

Good day, Five O'clock Friday leaving work and stuck in Toronto traffic, I was listening to the weather reports and figuring if I should head up to the cottage or not. It called for rain and possible thunderstorms but hey, ya can't catch fish from the couch. So with the weekend allotted for minor car maintanence and some a stop at CTC and I was on the road by 8:30pm. I arrived at my destination around 10:30pm. Was too beat to get out on the lake so a peaceful campfire by the water and a couple Coronas to keep me company sufficed the evening's entertainment. As my title indicates, it was the first time out there on my own this year. So I had to get a stance goin for my future photos. Here's me fishful thinking Needless to say, it was released back into the atmosphere to grow up and get realistic about things. Reality kicked in about half an hour later, when I get a hit on my trusty white spinnerbait running over top of a thick weedbed. Measured in at 24inches. Saw a really cool plane that was landing and taking off the water...look how close he was getting to some boats, hehe I know there are some aviators here. who can guess that plane! Here is some take off shots. I packed it in around 2pm totalling 4 pike and one dinky Largie that wasn't worth the photo, although it was my first legal bass of '08. I was disappointed to see the guide tip on my spinning outfit damaged and kept slicing my braid. She has been retired until I can fixn it up. I cleaned out my massive K&N air filter and got the sunroof to open back up again (essential as I dont have AC). Got back out on the water at 5pm and the sun came out to greet me. Tossed out a couple of Ryan Landry's black lures and third cast in with the shallow runner rap I get a decent hit and manage to haul in this Me thinks that lure will find a home in my box! Another pike I scored later that evening. I was on a mission to get some inches for the team, and I finally got a decent pike to beat our 25incher on the board. 27inches, Taper, I'll send you a PM shortly. Got off the water around 9:30pm. Sunday the weather was cold, rain off and on. I tossed everything I had in my box. Did my usual milk run...nada. Only bite I had was seeing my chartruse 5inch senko do a B-line on a short drop but I didn't get a good hook set. I'll be back...grin. Church is tossing lures listening to the History of Rock n' roll with Allan Cross in my Heaven. Hope y'all enjoyed my report, reefrunner

Catfish on a roe bag on the Credit River last fall. Many suicidal perch attacking my musky spinnerbaits.
