  1. As far as enforcers go in my time, I'd have to say Bob Probert stood as tall as any. I'm not so certain that Cam Neely being the best two-way player ever, couldn't have taken Probert in the odd tussle.?
  2. Nice work Sean. There's a lot of K-W natives that wouldn't be that successful on the Grand in one outing. I've got to get to Simcoe before the too long, the smallies that come out of there just look so healthy!
  3. Nothing like a big adventure that ends with some great looking fish! nice work on the report too.
  4. that's a beauty Joonmoon! I think your brother has been looking for that one lately.
  5. check Grey-Bruce outdoors forum for that info.
  6. It won't if there are no Additional Opportunities or Exceptions.
  7. Looks like a great outing with lots of payoff!
  8. It is a great way to fish the Grand or many other waterbodies for that matter. Just remember bass doesn't open until next summer, but it is open until end of Nov-08. Expect lots of feedback on your new toy Jedi!
  9. Thanks and have a great time TB! It's quite difficult not to unless your the DD. Jedi, you'll have to tell the story one day over a yakfish outing...
  10. I made some time at noon today to make my way to the Kitchener City Hall for the kick-off to the 40th K-W Oktoberfest and of course the tapping of the keg, not that I could get close enough to see it all. It was my first time going to the opening ceramony after 20 years of festhallen, so this was something new to me. The sausage and beers were already flyin by noon on the temps creeping over 20C leading into a great looking long weekend! so enjoy and "Ein Prosit" to all!!! oh, and check out my fish I caught yesterday on the Maitland... There's Walter Ostenak in the middle loading up on the accordian and belting out the chicken dance to kick it off. These two pics are of the same fish. first fish of the day last fish. scenery It was a nice relaxing three hours floating down the Maitland. The water was high, fast and clearing. I saw a pool with two old boots swimming around and I saw a couple decent steelies in other deeper pools, with me only having bass gear! Looks like a some great fall fishing on rivers with extended fall season's!
  11. This would just be a minor set back for the weekly onslaught of smallies at the mouth of the Maitland. They'd be back in a few days with new gear, no license and not a care..... Same crowd, same place, every year and everybody knows.
  12. With the cushiest schedule in the league this year, they should be able to do something. They are playing a real nice game these days, but I'm not in the belief that they'll beat a Tennessee, Baltimore or San Diego(defence). The Raiders gave them all they could handle and look where they're sitting now.
  13. good call on the early day "bigugli", as I've been on the other end of the totem lately!! nice day of fishin for sure.
  14. removed my comment!
  15. very cool Solo. interesting on the beads too, I'd like to know how they work out for you. Best of luck! sounds like an epic trip!
  16. I think he's talking about Gobies. Thy've been found in the stomach of harvested salmon this year.
  17. do both or do what you really want to do first. Haliburton, SS Marie, many BC locations have colleges in the areas you would guide. Make money guiding while getting your education. Could be a little more sketchy trying that out East. wish I'd have thought of that when I was about to start my post secondary ed!
  18. I'd hold off on shore fishing Owen Sound for another week at least. Seen a number if "fishless" reports outta there lately. welcome to the forum!
  19. very cool! But how did they ever weight it? Fishing the Fraser has been on my hit list for way too long and that's just one more huge reason to get there!
  20. very nice guys! That's the stuff I dream about.... for now.
  21. that s great link! I also learned how to tag a sturgeon from start to finish....
  22. Well she'll do her self no harm going to a world leading bio-tech, agricultural, pharmaceutical universities such as U of G.
  23. Kemper, that's one thing I do regret about Whistler is not fly fishing the area!! I definitely partook in the odd 1/2 day freeride down the spine of a few hills in the area and crankworx blew me away, especially meeting Wade Simmons. nice trip!
  24. the term for fishing for spawning salmon is "flossing", because you are merely putting in their mouth/teeth. some will strike due to agression, but most are caught by chance. Catching staging slamon is definitely where its at! full of adrenaline and ready to strike at anything in their way. Not to mention, they haven't lost all their silver yet.
