  1. My dad who is elderly and is not in the best health has a boat and we try to get out as much as we can in the summer but he can not be in the hot sun to much. 2 years ago he bought a bimini top for his boat ( a 14f princecraft) and it works very well for keeping him out of the direct sun, the problem is with all the poles and straps its quite difficult to fish from. Casting is very hard and when one of us catches something trying to net is ,,, well it's like watching 2 of the 3 stooges at work. I have seen a few pictures of umbrellas attached to the back of the seat and I think this would be much better. I think a nice big umbrella that has an elbow so it can change positions attached to the back of his seat would work very well. Has anyone on here ever rigged something like this up and if so where did you get the materials to do it. Any pics or directions on the best way to do this would be greatly appreciated! I have a feeling this may be the last year my dads health allows him to get out fishing and I want to get out with him as much as I can this year. Thanks Eric
  2. Thanks for sharing. Way to funny!
  3. Thank you all very much for the information. Looks like I will be picking up a couple of pairs . One for me and one for my wife, since I introduced her to fishing 3 years ago anything I buy for myself I now have to buy for her also! It has become kind of costly.lol
  4. Well as the title says, are polarized fishing glasses really worth it? I have never used them so I don't know anything about them. I would take it though that the more you pay for a set the better they will be? Please let me know what you think, worth it or scam. Thanks
  5. I swear my dad must have half a dozen of those in his different tackle boxes! I have never tried one, I may just have to "borrow" one or two off the old man this year.
  6. I have seen videos and different people saying to bleed the fish but I myself have never done it. Will have to give it a try,,,,,if I ever catch a fish again that is! It's been a very bad year for me, every time I try to get out i've had wicked headaches . Get them about 5-6 times a week, finally after months and months of waiting I have an MRI set for Nov 27, wooohooo! Maybe they can figure out what wrong with my noggin.
  7. Very sorry to hear that, my condolences.
  8. I've seid it before and I will say it again, you need your own TV show! Another amazing video man. Thank you for sharing.
  9. My dad and I would like to try fishing Crotch lake ( Ompah area ) . We have never been on the lake and he is worried about rocks and shoals that may take the bottom out of the boat because as he has no idea about the lake. We fish Govan lake a lot and already have the North Frontenac permit and I know there are two boat launches ( one in the north and one in the south ) , has anyone used them and are they easy to use. My dad is 75 and is on oxygen 24/7 so getting around for him is hard. We need something that he does not really have to walk to . Not asking for any honey spots but any advice on some places to concentrate on fishing and areas to avoid would be great ( we fish Pike and Walleye mostly ) as its a big lake and can spend our whole time just trying to find the right places. Any help , advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Eric

  14. So let me get this straight, Alone is about American's who are place on Vancouver Island with supplies and gear and think its hard. In Canada we call that camping , guess we are built a lot tougher in Canada then our American neighbors !
  15. Awesome job!
  16. Well after a couple trips out when the calendar said it was good fishing and catching nothing I have come to the conclusion that the calendar is full of bull poop! I mean , there's no way I could have done something wrong and gotten skunked right! In the end I think it comes down to right place at the right time with the right bait and putting it in front of their face enough.
  17. Looking for a fishing report for Pike Lake that is near Perth Ontario off the scotch line. My dad and I are thinking of trying it but have never fished it. If anyone on here has fished it ( especially this year ) any advice on how to fish it, good place and what bait seems to work or what areas of the lake to avoid that may have hidden rocks/stumps would be greatly appreciated. May not be going for 2 weeks, will depend on work and weather. Thanks, Eric
  18. Just wondering if anyone here puts any faith in the calendars you buy that also have if that day is suppose to be a good, bad or fair day for fishing. I myself don't believe them but my dad seems to thing they are accurate. I've seen him not want to go out on beautiful days just because the little fishy on his calendar says its not suppose to be a good day. Hogwash I say!
  19. Looks like you guys had an amazing time and some great pictures! It seems the older I get the harder it is for myself and my friends to get together at the same time. I can't remember the last time we all made it out togethe
  20. Nice fish man. I love casting from a dock. Get the chair out, put a few cold ones in a cooler and spend a couple of hours just relaxing a casting. Perfect lazy Saturday afternoon!
  21. Limeyangler, What size of Twister Tail are you using?
  22. I picked up the knife about 2 weeks back at one of my local Dollarama's but they did not have those frogs at mine.
