I got mine at Cabelas for $8.00 I think... certainly under $10 They also sell a larger one "Tie Fast Magnum" and its great for the big stuff 50lb+ mono and fluoro.

Braided lines typically give dimater OR compare to mono. Example "30lb braid diameter of 12lb mono" The double nail knot I posted is not affected by differences in line diameter. You can tie silk thrad to an anchor rope if you wish.

I use a willis knot... never an issue. Backing/willis/leadcore/willis/20' leader. Don't bother with a swivel at the end of the leadcore, tie your leader direct. This is also a good method for wire lines because your wire or leadcore are never exposed during storage and transporting. A great way to minimize kinks.

It sure was windy! This was one of a couple tractor trailers that blew over on the highway. I had heard on the radio that the Burlington Skyway was closed, QEW at Fruitland Rd., Victoria Ave., Garden City Skyway, Glendale Ave., Hwy 405 to Lewiston border crossing. I was on my way to Buffalo and suggested to dispatch at 10:30 that maybe I should return to the yard for all the above reasons. I guess they didn't believe me (or the CPB website stating Lewiston was closed) and told me to continue. Three and half hours later taking backroads (thanks for the directions jjcanoe) and I was able to confirm what we already knew. Fortunatly the ride home didn't take as long but getting around the GC Skyway was a pita! Maybe next time they will believe me. Then again, there may not be a next time.

I received the same letter back in December. My boat documents are in storage with the boat so I haven't done anything about it and haven't heard anything since. It's a relief to know that they are so efficient in thier jobs that they're going back in time to try and generate more revenue.

I would not recommend Ray Cullen for body shop, parts or service. The vehicle sale went fine. Body shop - extremely slow and poor results on a collision repair. Rejected a (lifetime) corrosion warrenty claim because the service department failed to note yearly inspections on my work orders. Service department - recommended brake replacements long before they were due. Changed rear brakes without approval, I refused to pay. Routinely reinstalled doghouse on the van incorrectly. Parts department - tried to charge 20% over list for idler arms. Went to Brian Finch and bought them for 40% below list.

No kiddin! We were beside eachother a few times; in the lobby and at the back row of the theater.

Good show and lots of laughs, especially the 104 year old security guard faux pas! It was good to see everyone again!

Rob, try calling Hose Headquarters in London. They're a block south of Heritage Marine. If they don't have it they might point you in the right direction; they're extremely helpful.

No need to worry about the single axle in terms of capacity. Having said that, you would greatly benefit from another axle for breaking power. If you have a good tow vehicle, it won't be an issue.

In therory the new prop should give you better hole shot and better top end provided you have the horses to propell it. My instinct tells me your hole shot will stay about the same and you might drop a few RPM at WOT. I'd be inclined to stay with what you had provided you were happy with the hole shot. Your RPM is good and 39mph from a 70hp is pretty good on any hull.
