  1. I don't know what your budget is but this might fit your needs.. http://tinyurl.com/2w6moq I looked at this boat and water tested it. It's solid, has riggers, bow mount trolling motor and gets on plane in a respectable period of time. The throttle control needs repair, maybe just an adjustment as it doesn't backs off if you don't hold it. If felt very safe and stable with it's high sides. I didn't buy it because they were asking $9,000 when I looked at it... since then I've found a different boat and hope to do a deal on it. -Brian
  2. I think its meant to read 2-6 inches
  3. Ahh yes, I remember your post about that... they were looking for info about the new owners. Any update on the cause of the fire? have they rebuilt?
  4. Nice pic's Joey... funny you mentioned the Flintstone Ribs... Gary, Taper and I had "The Brontosauras Burgers" at the London Swill... "Brontosaurus Burger $6.99 YaBa DaBa Doo! For those with an unlimited appetite. A 12 oz. char-broiled Beef Patti, fully loaded with bacon and cheese. Served with fried potatoes and garnish." Here's a thought... we'll all meet at the Milton Quary for a swill - the London crowd can bring the Brontosauras Burgers and the GTA crowd can bring...... the beer
  5. Sure Nauti, How about Friday April 13.... I'll bring a few friends. My friends -Brian
  6. By 8PM we figured you weren't coming so everybody finished thier non-alchoholic beverages and headed home for a good nights sleep to be fresh for early mass in the morning. Okay, just kidding... The truth is we kept getting hit-on by a group of ravishing young ladies with facial hair fetishes... it was horrible. Riddled with guilt, we chose to call it an early evening and return home to our awaiting spouses. -Brian
  7. LOL!! I was the last one to leave and that was 8:30... I had to bribe Chris and Brian to hang out a little longer!!
  8. Hey Rick, why do you need a radio? Can't you tap into to your wireless bow to stern network for mp3 playback? I'd be inclined to go with a regular headunit versus a marine headunit and apply the leftover money to a removeable mount. This one has room for an an iPod as well, might be a good place for a cell phone too. Radio Mount Another thing to consider is under-mounting this unit beneath your bow mount (near a battery I assume) and install a headunit with a remote... utilize dead space and protection from the elements. -Brian
  9. If a man speaks in the forest and there is no woman to hear him, is he still wrong?
  10. Democrats are trying to raise it from $5.xx to $7.xx A lofty goal and will be difficult for businesses... Republicans are crying in thier Martinis, I feel for them. Here's a thought, had Republicans bumped the minimum wage on a regular basis over the last eight years to mirror COL increases, there wouldn't be such an outcry from low wage employers. Who am I kidding. But I digress... I'd be willing to pay more for my fishing privlidges if I were certain that the money was going directly back into the MNR. Wait, what was this topic about? Oh yeah Tip-Ups.... don't they have better methods for catching baitfish? -Brian
  11. Waypoints are your friend... Heading out on the ice (walking, sleding, atving) drop waypoints for hazzard areas (cracks, slush, holes etc.) Mark your good spots as Irishfield said and visit them year after year. When you're ready to get off the ice, follow your tracks on the gps for a safe return route... especially handy when a storm blows up or in the dark. Meeting some friends on the ice? tell 'em where you are! -Brian
  12. There are lots of fishing boards around with sub-forums, some with a couple, some with many. I find when visiting these other boards, I don't read the "Off Topic" stuff or other sub-forums that don't necessarily pertain to my brand of fishing. On this board I scan all the topics and read what catches my eye. There are countless numbers of valuable postings I would have missed had they been in another sub-forum. -Brian
  13. Call me crazy but doesn't the head look like a beagle?!? -Brian
  14. Martin Strel plans to swim the Amazon, 3375 miles in 70 days. Swimming the Amazon
  15. Yup, saw it on City this morning. Ingenious!
  16. I'd imagine so, we probably wouldn't be seeing pictures otherwise. I've seen some pretty wild footage on TV and unless they break in half, they'll go through just about anything! -Brian
  17. Dan, You just need a bigger boat http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8859132516960951251 Nauti, with all due respect I don't think there is enough water in Lake Erie to make waves like that. -Brian
  18. That was the deposit on the sled. Those damn things cost an arm and.....
  19. There seems to be a significant amout of interest in poker with members of the forum. Some of the concerns have been playing online and playing for cash... that got me thinking. If we have bad weather at Lakair, why not sit down at the lodge and have a game? I contacted Leslie, she has no problem with us using the lodge provided it doesn't interfere with mealtimes. Ideas that came to mind... No cash game, entry fee exchanged for chips 1 lure entry fee - new in package $10 value (or a combination of lures worth $10) Winner takes 60%, 2nd 30%, 3rd 10% If there is enough interest we can discuss games (stud, draw, hold 'em... dealer calls, blinds etc.) -Brian
  20. I think I speak for everyone when I say... PLEASE LEAVE SOME WALLEYE FOR THE REST OF US! -Brian
  21. I thought I was playing DOOM while watching that spear fishing video.
  22. With Valentines Day approaching, your cunning spouse may try to coax you into a date... "Hey honey, we should go out tonight. There's a new movie out called Catch and Release" Don't be duped. I'm not saying don't go, just be prepared, it's a chick flick. http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/catchandrelease/ Just looking out for you guys... -Brian
  23. I spoke with Kevin last Wednesday. -Brian
  24. [chain yanking] You can put on a brave face and it's probably safe and sound in some other boat show in Wisconnsin and they're using the casting deck as a diaper changing station. "No sir, we promise it won't be in the TORONTO boat show" -Brian [/chain yanking]
