Recommendations for best trolling line to combat spiny water fleas?
SlowPoke replied to muskieb's topic in General Discussion
Probably the most popular choice is "Flea Flicker" for mono. http://www.4fishin.com/flea_flicker.htm Lots of folks using wire for dipsys to avoid the fleas as well. Stay away from braids. -Brian -
LOL!! Is that Paul looking at that Verado longingly? Man that Verado is a monster... you'd need a step ladder to change the plugs on it! I'm not even sure it would clear a standard garage door. It makes the kicker look like a Minn-Kota! Nice report Jo and even if it wasn't the best show ever at least you got to hang out with a few members. -Brian

We're waiting for the report, what did she get it on? Pictures? Glad you had a good time... Oh, that special edition Lund, I think that's Irishfield's boat on display -Brian

Ooops, didn't mean to be a personal shot at Roy but at opinions in general. I don't think Roy took it too personaly... he would have deleted it. Okay, now that was a shot at Roy

So, according to your etymology.... Your two cents is only worth a fraction of my two-bit opinion. Which brings me to my next point - opinions are like asses... they all stink. -Brian

Ain't that the truth! Some of these guys would feel short-changed had this years show featured Bob Izumi, Al Lindner, Pete Maina, Marc Thorpe and the late great Red Fisher juggling jellyfish on stage while the Beetles reunited to perform Led Zeppelin covers to an audiance of unicorns.

Okay, I'm in... I haven't followed nascar for years, maybe this will renew my interest. So far I'm in second place behind "Trophy Musky Chasers"

What bait types do you spend more money on?
SlowPoke replied to urbanangler1990's topic in General Discussion
Crankbaits for me without doubt but I'll bet there will be some spoonpullers looking for a box to check off. -Brian -
I think keram has the right idea... leave the middle bench in and work around it. Removing the middle bench without re- supporting the sides is not wise. You will see a lot of flex and will likely cause leaks and loosen rivits. -Brian

Hi Joey, I had heard there was an allowance for apprentices but did not realize it was extended to full time tradespeople. It's about damn time! I think $500 is too low but without receipts there's a lot of room for scam. They should bump it to $1000 with receipts on filing and allow carry-over to the following year(s). Submitting receipts is a pain in the bottom but it's worth the effot for legitimate claims. -Brian

This could be trouble..... -Brian On February 6, 2007 at the Concert Industry Consortium held in the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in California, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne along with tour producer Live Nation, announced that tickets for Ozzfest 2007 will be free. "For the past 11 years, music fans have made OZZFEST the most successful and enduring rock music festival in the United States," said Jason Garner, Live Nation President of North American Concerts. "What better way to say 'Thank You' to the music fans who have made this possible than inviting them to attend OZZFEST for free." Ozzfest fans across the nation will be able to visit the www.ozzfest.com website or www.livenation.com where they will soon find links directing them to special sponsor sites where tickets can be obtained. This ground-breaking news is still being detailed and more information will be provided. The current city tour line-up launches on July 7, 2007 in Los Angeles and will also include San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Albuquerque, Phoenix, Dallas, San Antonio, Kansas City, St Louis, Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus, Pittsburgh, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Hartford, Charlotte, Atlanta, West Palm Beach, and Nashville. Final tour dates and locations will be posted on www.ozzfest.com 2007 marks the 12th anniversary of Ozzfest. Created in 1996, the annual tour features performances by heavy metal and hard rock groups. 2006 performers included Ozzy Osbourne, System of a Down, Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Bleeding Through, and Norma Jean. The performance lineup for 2007 has not yet been released. Sharone Osbourne said, "we have bands committed, but we're hoping that after today's announcement we'll have a whole influx of artists who want to be a part of something this ground breaking. We know there aren't any major headlining acts that would tour all summer for nothing, but we're confident we can turn some of the genre's biggest bands on to what we're doing and have them come out to play a date or two. If they're in town and want the rush of performing in front of 20,000 frenzied kids, they're more than welcome to join us." Past Ozzfest media events have included an MTV sponsored heavy-metal inspired American Idol type program entitled "Battle for Ozzfest" where Ozzy and Sharon selected eight bands to compete for a spot in the 2005 Ozzfest, and tour expansions into Europe. Fans can stay tuned for more information on how to obtain free tickets by visiting the official Ozzfest website at www.ozzfest.com

Okay, the symptom you are having perfectly describes a fresh air vent stuck open. The fresh/recirc control...If it is lever; Does it move freely or does it stick? Does it move too freely as if there is nothing attached to it? If it is a button it should have a light on it... light on usually represents recirculation If you don't see a light, check for blown fuses. I don't think it would have its own fuse but check anyway. If you are able, test the switch with a circuit tester. If you do see a light, listen for a vacuum leak (very slight hiss under the dash). Also listen for the sound of a plastic flap opening and closing (ffffffffffff....fwap) LOL I'm not willing to bet that the fresh/recirc. vent is the problem but I am willing to bet all of Tybo's tackle that it isn't a thermostat stuck open. Easy to check. With the engine cold remove the rad cap. Have someone start the engine and watch for coolent flow. If the t-stat is stuck open it will flow, if it is working properly it should just sit there. You didn't mention what your temp. gauge was doing... is it stable, pulsating or cycling warm when driving or cool when sitting? -Brian
-
If this is cooling system or head gasket related the temperature guage should detect such a sudden and drastic fluctuation. If the temp guage is stable it sounds like ventilation. Does this car have a "fresh air/recirculate" button or switch? -Brian

Caper, I bet you're not far off. I'm thinking about following this case - attend the trial and sentancing. I'm probably out of luck for restitution anyway given thier ages. Even if it was considered I probably wouldn't see anything for 3-4 years and that's the best case scenario.... trial, sentencing, time to pay. Sure, let them serve shoulder to shoulder with the good guys that are making the ultimate sacrifice for our country - that'll be good for troop morale. -Brian

Hmmm... you seem like an upstanding, contributing member of society. I'd say community service didja some good! I'm teasing of course. I can't see community Service having much effect on these guys but I'm glad it's an option for generally good kids that did something stupid. -Brian

http://www.londontopic.ca/article.php?artid=1386 Stolen Jeep used during break-in flees police LondonTopic.ca 01/31/2007 A short police pursuit ensued early this morning (Jan. 31) after a Clarke Road drug store was burglarized. Police responded to an alarm at the Shoppers Drug Mart, 142 Clarke Rd, at around 3 a.m. Witnesses on the scene told police the suspects fled in a dark-coloured Jeep Cherokee and provided the licence-plate number of the vehicle. About an hour later an officer patrolling Oxford Street observed the suspect Jeep traveling westbound. Though the officer pursued the vehicle and attempted to stop the Jeep, the driver fled forcing the officer to abort the pursuit "because of public/officer safety risks associated with poor road conditions," police said. A short time later another officer located the Jeep abandoned in a laneway on Dufferin Street. Police set up a perimeter in the area and one of the suspects was found walking on Ontario Street. A second suspect was located walking on Dufferin Street. Inside the Jeep police found property believed to have been stolen from the Shoppers Drug Mart. In addition, the investigation determined the Jeep had been stolen earlier in the morning. Two men remain in custody as police are continuing the investigation. http://www.londontopic.ca/article.php?artid=1416 UPDATE: Suspects in stolen Jeep commited series of break-ins; police Ross McDermott, LondonTopic.ca 02/01/2007 The two burglary suspects who fled police in a stolen jeep yesterday (Jan. 31) could be responsible for a series of break-ins. The suspects, who triggered the alarm at the Shoppers Drug Mart, 142 Clarke Rd., at around 3 a.m., then fled the scene in a stolen Jeep, leading to a short police pursuit, are also suspected of Jan. 21 break-in at the same address, as well as a Jan. 14 and Jan. 22 break-in at the LCBO, 109 Fanshawe Park Rd., and a Jan. 23 burglary at another Shoppers Drug Mart, 603 Fanshawe Park Rd. During the police investigation of yesterday's break-in, police compared evidence to the other occurrences and found similarities in all the crimes. The same display cases were smashed and similar items stolen – digital cameras and mp3 players – both times the Clarke Road Shoppers was targeted, police said, adding the method of entry was the same. The incident at the other Shoppers Drug Mart on Fanshawe Park Rd., saw the suspects back a vehicle through the front door, smash a display case and flee with digital cameras and mp3 players. On Jan. 14, at the LCBO, 109 Fanshawe Park Rd., suspects smashed the front door, stole a quantity of alcohol and fled in a stolen truck. On Jan. 22, the store was targeted again and alcohol was stolen through the same method of operation. Police said in total over $1,700 in alcohol and $16,000 in product was stolen during the break-ins. The damages caused during the break-ins total more than $8,000. Two Nova Scotia men, Joel Cox, 27, from Sheet Harbour, has been charged with five counts of break and enter, one count of possession of stolen property and one count of public mischief. Cox was also wanted by London police for failing to attend court. Reid Smith, 33, has been charged with five counts of break and enter and one count of possession of stolen property. Both remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in court Feb. 5.

As I understand it, that is no longer possible for new subscibers. Something about the billing address being in the US or A US based credit card. I'm sure it can still be done through US friends or family memebrs however... we still get the US signals up here. -Brian
