  1. Williams , I jig with 2 lines , one with a w60 ice jig 1/2 & 1/2 and the other a w50 williams wobbler. I seem to get my share of fish.
  2. I use my 2 humminbirds just fine !
  3. On my tip ups I use the 3 way spreader to sit on bottom and then about 3 feet up i have a single hook. When the whitie bits on bottom the stick goes up and when they bite the top hook it goes down. I had a trout almost take my stick into the hole by nailing the top hook the other day.
  4. I find lakers , whities and pike all about the same to fillet. Knock the sides off then skin and then run the knife down each side of the y bones and your good to go . The other night I had trout done in oil in the frying pan. Dipped the fish in eggs and then covered with crushed crackers.
  5. My buddys jiffy was doing that too but his problem was that the vent on the tank cap was clogged up.
  6. 50 feet total . i havent had much luck in water over 70 feet deep at night .
  7. I have caught lots of whities at night on simcoe . Not so many trout . Some of the best whitie action i have has is in 50 feet of water at night. My hut is in 85 and they seem to turn off out deep and head shallow for the night. All on tip ups with minnows.
  8. Oh cool jan 10th . So almost 2 weeks ago like i guessed I agree with ramble, atleast the yotes made use of it instead o it rotting in the ditch. I heard a couple years back about a buddy hunting around the gravenhurst area that they shot 2 deer and had them hanging on the meat pole and the next day they wolves ate the back ends out of them . As far up as they could reach standing on their back legs was gone. Now thats just mean !!!
  9. And to think that people think we are cruel because we hunt and kill animals. Personaly i would rather be shot than tore apart by coyotes. I bet that buck has been there for a few weeks since he still has his antlers on. I think most have dropped them a few weeks back.
  10. You dont need a million rods to catch fish . I have a 6'6 mh baitcaster for casting pretty much everything i want and i have a 6'6 med spinning rod that i like to use for my soft plastics and my lighter baits . I have a few other rods but they very seldom get used. Get a bait caster and get practiced up, They make cranking big spinnerbaits a breeze !
  11. BUY IT !!!! are you waiting for someone to hold your hand and take you over there to get it ? JUST KIDDING ! !!! I am a cat man so i guess im a bit bias. but i dont think it will get over 90 like ciceri said.
  12. Again not tryting to burst your bubble but that is an old deer with poor genetics. That was likely the best that deer would get. The mass of the beams and the width of the skull cap is a hint that its an older deer. Maybe a couple years ago that was a nice giant 8 pointer but once a rack gets so big and the deer gets to a certain age they start to decline rack size and abort growing extra points. This is just all my opinion ofcourse im no expert but i have hunted my whole life and seen alot of deer or maybe im full of horse crap and everything ive read and seen is false. Are there any other actual hunters going to comment their thoughts on this ?
  13. Is it just me or is the whole point of going to an operator and paying money is so that you have a hut to sit in for the day ? I wouldnt be paying to go and sit on the ice. I can do that for free.
  14. The pics are exactly what you said they were " a great 6 pointer" I like the one of the guy with it on his head . Hey just think if mine would of had a couple more points i could have been a 150 .
  15. Well mine is 145 1/4" ... But who knows "IF" that 6 pointer did have another 2 points and they were non typical or something crazy it might hit 150 gross and then the net score would bring its score back down. It takes a huge 8 point to hit 150 IF my mom had nuts she would be my dad did you do the score yourself ? because your not even so you need to deduct inches no im not offended and my apologies if i have offended you .
  16. yes i know, take your guess pretty much same frame as yours and tallest tine length but i have an extra 4 points . so guess away . and thanks
  17. This is the first deer that i ever shot back in 1996 with a bow . What do you think this one scores ? 10 points and 21 in spread. g3's are 10 3/4 and 11 1/2 inches.
  18. would have to be 2 huge points to be in the 150's . If it got 2 more points they would be the g3's and they would have been smaller than the g2's so at best they would be 8 inches each, and that would put it in the mid 130's. Nice deer tho .
  19. I was cleaning a laker today and like always I had to check out its gut to see what was in there. This is the first time ive ever seen this type of worm in a fish's stomach. There was 4 of them about 3 or 4 inches long, white, flat body and segmented. Has anyone else seen this or heard of it ? sory no pics forgot the camera in the hut .
  20. hey kemper you better not shoot the big bucks since you dont see the point in hunting trophy animals just kidding man
  21. which one did you get ? my dads is the pheonix. I know a few guys with exomags and exomax's .. All wicked bows.
  22. Thats on my dads x bow . Its the excaliber drop zone or vari zone or what ever they call it . The ones that comes in the package. Has a dial on top for fps and you just turn it to what ever fps your bow is and it has 4 or 5 different crosshairs in it for the drop of the arrow.
