Things should start firming up with the cold spell that's coming tonight.

They only count if they fit you the way your dressed. Not many PFD's will fit over my 2XL suit.
-
DOT is not the approving agency in Canada. Transport Canada is. Here is the description of the suit from CT Web site. Removable hood with zipper, nylon outer and lining PVC foam construction for high flotation Under arm zipper for ventilation Arm and leg zippers for fast entry with Velcro closure Reflective tape and bright outer shell for high visibility Waist belt with quick release buckle Transport Canada Approved Top & bottom zipper pockets for storage Check the tag inside the suit to confirm.

Go in and try one on. A couple years ago I did the same & could not find one that fit me comfortably. For me I found the Helly Hansen fit better. Could be the opposite for you.

Although not available in your size I just bought these TERRA TRAC R/S in LT245/75R16. 10 ply light truck tires. Gave up on using passenger grade tires on my SUV's. $800 installed, taxes included. http://www.herculestire.ca/tire-gallery/passenger-and-light-truck/suvlight-truck/terra-trac-rs/

I'm working New Years. Going in at 11 am to get machines ready to start-up for the midnight shift which starts at 11 pm.

Our power went out from about 10 am to noon today. Lots of limbs down around town but ice is melting off the trees now.
-
It's quite icy here but powers still on. Ice not heavy enough yet to cause branches or power lines to come down. Just seen on an other forum power is out in the Niagara area.

Carry on up to Lake Simcoe for daily rental places.. I drive through your area to head to lake Simcoe. If only looking for a spot locally without rental huts your options expand some.

Although I believe you ensure everything is done safely, if an an accident occurs, even if your son is completely without fault you will be open to lose everything you own plus if a law suit happens. Driver to carry documents 16. (1) Subject to subsection (2), every driver of a motorized snow vehicle shall carry his or her driver’s licence or motorized snow vehicle operator’s licence and evidence of the motorized snow vehicle’s registration at all times while operating a motorized snow vehicle and shall produce them when demanded by a police officer or conservation officer. 2000, c. 30, s. 7 (1). Exception (2) A person shall not be required to carry any document referred to in subsection (1) while operating a motorized snow vehicle on lands occupied by the owner of the motorized snow vehicle. 2000, c. 30, s. 7 (1). & Owner may be convicted 24. The owner of a motorized snow vehicle may be charged with and convicted of an offence under this Act or the regulations or any municipal by-law regulating, governing or prohibiting the operation of motorized snow vehicles, for which the driver of the motorized snow vehicle is subject to be charged unless, at the time of the offence, the motorized snow vehicle was in the possession of a person other than the owner without the owner’s consent and on conviction the owner is liable to the penalty prescribed for the offence. R.S.O. 1990, c. M.44, s. 24.

Here's my older ride. As for: I thought to operate a snowmobile on public property you have to be 12 years old minimum with a motorized snow vehicle operator's licence (MSVOL).

If they wish to fish as a deemed to be a license holder they need a possess either a valid CNIB National Identity Card or an Accessible Parking Permit (photo or electronic copies permitted). Accessible Parking Permits are free to those who qualify and are specific to the person not the vehicle. Permit holder must be the driver or a passenger in the vehicle for the Permit to be used. My guess as to the reason for allowing photo copies is it would be impossible to have the original permit in the parked car & also with the person who is away from the vehicle fishing.
-
My refference to a police officer refusing a photo copy was in respect to being used as a valid ID. As for a photo copy of an accessible parking permit it is valid for proof of disability for fishing purposes as it is specifically authorized. No such authorization is in affect to use a photo copy for parking purposes.
-
A CO can refuse a photo copy. ID must be a government issued card, permit, license or certificate.

The ice is always unsafe to the OPP & other police departments. As for police kicking you off the ice, if it's not private they have no legal grounds.

My opinion although maybe a little biased is Humminbird 597ci HD ( comes with Navionics chip ) http://radioworld.ca...rd-p-11412.html I just upgraded to this unit a couple of weeks ago. Fits right in my Ice 345c bag.

The Canadian Coast Guard haso not been the approving agency in Canada for many years. Transport Canada is the authorized agency now. That being said if it is an older suit that was approved by the Canadian Coast Guard, than as long as it is in good condition it's still legally OK.

Basically qualified to drive an 18 wheeler. A- stands for wieght classification, basically the heavier vehicles. Z- stands for air brake indorsment.

I have a Eskimo 949 pop-up & it has lots of room and I've had no problems with it. Also the Eskimo ice anchors are the best by far.
-
I have one bought new at Canadian Tire on sale for $249 a couple years ago. They were also on sale last year for the same price. They are a rebranded Eskimo auger.
-
I've done best at my local tire shop in St. Marys. Check out your local shop for a price. Don't forget to include all the extras many places pile on.

Looks like a great trip. Smallie's can be quite fun. Last week we fished theTemigami area & caught lot's of them but the average was smaller although I caught my personal best at 21".

a question for woodstove/ fireplace owners, NF
Woodsman replied to chris.brock's topic in General Discussion
As some have stated earlier that pine from July is not ready to burn yet. Give it at least one more year & 2 would be better. -
Yes fishindevil is correct. The restrictions are only on commercial dealers of minnows and not on anglers moving them for personal use. Just because it's legal still does not make it a good idea though.
-
I have had good luck with them in the larger sizes for pike.
