  1. no point in sharpening steelhead sized hooks, too small just get good chemically sharpened hooks.

  4. looks like a coho, i have seen them half black and half normal, some seem to change into spawning colours in sections.

  7. Rich that spot is narrow and pretty deep, the river is bigger in most other places, but still a small river

  12. Nice Fish Man, crazy looking reel too, is that a riverrun? the fish must not have been very picky today judging by all the different baits.
  13. I dont keep any wild steelies, only a few small stocked ones per year.
  14. Went out again today, and thought it was going to be the same as yesturday with only catching tiny smolts, and it was for the beggining.. Till this fish decided to take down my float.. What a fight after catching tiny fish all day Then after a few more smolts got this really nice one, what a crazy fight took about 20 minutes to get her in alone, The Release Shot Now i gotta get a bigger net..

  17. Went to my local trib today and got around like 60 or so fish, Thing is they were almost all minnow sized, even got a couple of suckers. Better than nothing i guess. Heres a couple nice pics from a few days back...

  19. not to many lakers around here, i would like a lighter action rod for perch and other panfish.. any ideas on how i could do this.

  21. I have a broken shakespear catera 10'6 float rod. It is broken in two pieces as you can see, Is it any good for maybe making an ice rod, i have no experience in making rods but any suggestions would be apprechiated. I would hate to throw it away...

  24. To be honest it really depends on conditions, if the visibility is around 1 foot or below tie big loonie or toonie sized bags if not make thiem nickle sized if its any clearer. THere is no set amount so make the bags according to water conditions.. Also as for colours for low visiblity tie chartuse and pink and for clearer water stick with white, peach and the odd blue for really clear water. Heres an example of what i tie for 1.5 ft or so ft visibility...
