  1. Thanks for sharing. July is probably the worst month for brook trout fishing, I'd be glad with those results to be honest. Hit those same lakes in late April and you'd probably have a little different result.
  2. Put the laptop, open, in a bowl of rice overnight at least. It's worked for me more than once, on various electronics including laptops. None of which were puke though...
  3. Nice! Nip's got an excellent smallmouth fishery, that seems to be relatively untapped.
  4. I don't doubt it.... I figured it was worth a re-post given the timing...
  5. LOL. Oh man, the amount of 20 lb. steelhead I've heard of getting caught just the day before...they never seem to have pictures though even though half of them are spouting away on their crackberries the whole time.
  6. What happened to Canadians caring about the country they lived in? This should be a hot ticket issue right now.
  7. Some great footage of the protest at Queen's park earlier this spring. Please sign the petition posted below. It's garnering quite a lot of attention, and there's still 72 hours remaining. http://www.avaaz.org/en/stop_the_quarry/?copy
  8. Good goin. Lots of largies in there if you cover some water.
  9. Still waiting for my phone call from Kesagami...
  10. Congrats! Having any crazy nicotine-patch dreams?
  11. Good on ya for joinin. If you're into smallmouth, you'll love Tunnel Lake. Very deep and clear with some real big smallies in it.
  12. You can spend a lifetime looking for that one 50 incher. Awesome fish!
  13. Kids under 18 have sport fishing license priveleges, I believe. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.
  14. Chad (Rod Caster) invited me to join him in his trusty sportspal for a quick early morning fish on a small lake (and I mean small) not far north of here known for producing some hog walleye. We were on the road with coffees in hand by 4, and fishing well before 5. It was quality, and not quantity today. We both could not believe how hard fighting these walleye were. These things took drag and peeled off faster than most smallmouth I've ever caught. Not the best quality photos, but these fish were plump and brilliantly yellow. Some of the nicest walleye I've ever seen. I was first up. Popped this 20.5" incher on a beetlespin in no more than 5 FOW. Shortly afterwards, Chad decided to put me to shame and hauled in this beauty 22 incher. I've honestly never seen a walleye peel drag off like this one. Chad also managed a nice smallmouth who miraculously landed in my frying pan It was great to finally get out. Thanks for having me, Chad.
  15. I forgot about Muskoka Dark. An excellent brew. And yeah, Quebec definitely has the superior breweries. I just finished up a few bottles of Rigor Mortis from Dieu du Ciel in Montreal over the last few days.
  16. Lately I've been looking into what our local breweries in this province have to offer. While I've had a few stinkers, I've also stumbled across a few gems. A few of my personal favourites include Neustadt's Scottish Pale, Muskoka's Premium Lager, and Trafalgar's Irish ale. I'm currently trying Lake of Bay's Pale Ale, and am fairly impressed. What are some of your favourites?
  17. That's one hell of a greaser!
  18. The one guy I don't mind getting outfished by. Nice goin. That pack of boats is insane
  19. Beautiful. A big wide tiller is the way to go. Nothing but space.
  20. A perfect eater...hopefully some good fishing karma coming your way for letting her swim
  21. Nice! How do largies compare to smallies eating wise? I really enjoy smallmouth but havent tried largemouth yet.
  22. Those high teens/low 20's fish put up some unreal fights. Nice goin, and a nice atlantic too!
  23. Break-offs aren't an issue as long you run a snubber off the back of the dipsy
  24. This man speaks the truth. I wonder how many people preaching the opposite were out chasing spawning pike this spring in fmz 17, or are aware that many northern states have a catch and release spring bass season and are seeing the best fishing ever on record.
