  1. Nice vid thx for sharing. Few nice eyes there...
  2. I like the wink...because it really is up to me. Fishing "The activity of catching fish, either for food or as a sport"
  3. Palomar knot all the way. The line is not junk please don't listen to some people. You also have to remember you need to lube the line before you sinch it down. Slow it down as the knot comes together and use your saliva to lube it up. By not luberacating the line your creating weak spots in the knot that will fail. Slow the knot down and lube it. The old lub comes in handy for a few things eh...
  4. My post got deleted on a public forum so..... Thought this was a fishing forum about fishing and your commenting about video taping a co on your go pro...? Doing his job? Like I said need to get a life dude. How about telling us how the bite is? What's biting? Ice report? Colour of the Swedish pimple? Use your go pro to post some pics and maybe a vid of the action. Maybe you didn't have enough time... Get some guys fired up for the ice season. I don't know, your talking about go proing a co. Really? Guys like you are the first to whine and complain when you see someone keeping too many fish or fishing for whatever out of season and asking where is a co when you need one. Ontario FISHING community... FISHING Who runs this forum anyway?
  5. 407 says my brother in law owes them $50 grand. He had to higher a lawyer and is fighting it. Some one used his info to get a transponder in 2001 and used it almost every day for 10 yrs. amazing. I give him the gears about it every time I see him. Oh and they take a flick of your front plate as well. Tailgate down or towing a boat doesn't work anymore. Gotta love Canada. Just add a tax that will pay for whatever we need. No one in this country is gonna argue it anyway.
  6. It is a nice truck but does have many down falls. It's horrible around town, the acceleration is not very good, lowest tow rating for a 1500 and the diesel comes at a premium. Dodge is close but just not there yet. My buddy has 2014 f150 fx4 black edition with 5.0l v8. Sick truck, going to trade her in Monday v8 too hard on gas. My boost average around town 13l per 100 km. Highway I average 9 if I drive like an old man 10 120km and 14 with my boat. This thread is gonna get ugly. All I know is I have owned v8 now have Eco boost will never go back to v8 (unless mustang GT). Ford is putting all thier R&D in the ecoboost, there won't be a v8 option in a 1500 in next few years. Even mustang going ecoboost. Just is what it is.
  7. They nice eh, I have the 2015 with Eco boost and love it. Can't go wrong with the v8 but man that twin turbo v6 can rip. Don't let anyone tell you the Eco boost is no good it's a revolution. F150 is best pick up hands down very nice choice. (I was an import pick up owner and fan for years)
  8. Every forum has one. Ontario fishing community is not immune.
  9. Went over my manual, it does recommend 87 says higher octane runs cooler and causes excess carbon build up. It can also cause knocking. I take my merc to Top Gun Marine, have for years nough said about that. If one was fat and unhealthy then went on a diet and worked out and lost the weight, would one stop what is working or continue with the success? Just saying. I do appreciate all the helpful info you provided for me... I'm glad theirs guys like you that can point guys like me in the right direction. I think I'm gonna call you "tips"
  10. No premium on opti's. The higher octane will cause the motor to over heat and blow the power head due to the timing. The computer can't compensate so it will knock and ping, over a short time the power head will blow. The computer will store the info and any warranty will be voided. Merc recommends lower octane fuel and highlights the importance of not using higher octane fuel. What's wrong with Seafoam? It's a fantastic product and works better then anything I have tried. Quick clean cant even do what this stuff does. You can eat off my exhaust ports. Pls don't knock what you don't understand. Thx Joe
  11. I take my opti to merc tech. Plugs in the computer and the motor winterizes it's self, pretty easy. Can't use premium in the optis. Been using optis for 10 years and never had issues with bad gas. Never had issues at all. Gas in boat tank doesn't last more then a week or two. I been using seafoam twice a month since spring and more since fall. Motor runs great and is as clean as I have ever seen it. That seafoam is good stuff.
  12. Just put the boat away today Dave. It's a sad day... Won't get caught in a snow storm this year
  13. One of the most solid reels I have ever owned. I have 5 stradics and a Stella (amazing reel) and the diawa ss is one my best reels. I have 2, had them since I was 14 and they the ones made in Japan. The newer ones made in Mexico or whatever are not the same but still decent.
  14. I have the bps 100 mph. I have the new suit and had the old suit for 6 years. They work great, I also have the liner for the jacket and it's very warm. Been out a lot this fall and it's been fantastic. I find it too warm for the summer months so I have the frog toggs which are great as well just very light. Have a look at the frabill and stormer they are reasonably priced. The Simms is nice but well over a geno. Can't go wrong with the cabelas, I have never used but look similar to the bass pro ones.
  15. That's funny Dave. What are the odds, nice to see he goes back every year. Nice job looks like a nice lake! I'd like to try and catch Luke the laker one these years...
  16. Well, the more expensive and bigger the boat the better the deal. End of season would be your best bet. A 14 ft tin is not that hard to store and not that hard to sell. Where as a larger boat like a bass boat or deep v takes up space and money to store so the faster the seller can get rid of it the better. If I was selling my tin boat my price wouldn't be that flexible as I can sell it any time. I store in my back yard upside down on the trailer, easy. My 18 ft crestliner takes up my garage, plus I have to plug in all my batties.... Keep your eyes peeled and ear to the ground, you'll find a deal.
  17. Really eh, I can live with low 50's that will get the smallies in the right mood.
  18. Have you ever had to call 911 for police assistance because of an emergency? Have you ever been in a car accident where police showed up to take care of the scene? What would you do if you showed up and had to arrest a billionaire for killing 3 children and thier grandfather because he decided to drive home drunk? Some people wonder why I'm not a supporter of ignorant people...
  19. Hey guys, anyone been out round parry island and parry sound harbour area? The smallies start to set up yet? Thx Joe
  20. It was the same cop that shot the bear
  21. That's our government, and us Canadians just sit'n back and take it. Well, we complain about it on a fishing forum. I am not a big US fan but I have to say this crap would not go over well south of the boarder. That I know. Hydro, groceries, natural gas, fuel, merchandise, beer, liquor, fishing tackle, boats, cars, truck, taxes, dog food.... I guess we will just sit back and take. I'm sure the ceo of the hydro company will get a nice bonus out of this.
  22. Been fishing the parry sound area. Started last Sun-tues. and again fri-sun. Water temps started out 58-60. This past Sunday was 57. The smallies have been hard to find. The ones I have caught were deeper, not fat and not schooled up. Saturday I caught 3 back to back in 23-25 ft suggesting they are starting to feed and school. Sunday didn't catch one. The walleye were hitting in the upper 59/60 temp which I expected and have since slowed. The largies started to school up and I caught the most and biggest Sunday at 57 deg. So the short answer is I don't think my lake has turned over yet. But every lake is different.
