Co-polymer is a mix between two different lines - Fluoro and Mono. Some decide to have a mono inside w/ a fluoro coating, and some say that they have fused them together to make it into one material to have the best of both worlds. The graph seems exaggerated though, The performance is a compromise between the two...So less supple, but better abraision resistant, more strength. I've tried two different types of the line personally, Yo-zuri Hybrid, and Silver Thread..I actually think that they are pretty good lines except that Trilene XL remains better. Only thing that also happens to be a fact is that Trilene is quite a bit more expensive. Trilene has a 9/10 rating in my books, and Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Silver Thread would get 8.5/10

Congrats Dirk! Bring your daughter fishing with you next time we go together

Nice catch!! Today is the last day before the cold front kicks in, and I dont know how the fish are going to react to this.
-
WOw, that's really fast..Three days ago it was still full of ice.. The rain must have washed everything through!
-
I think they're as good as bluegills and sunfish for sure! Usually you'll have to take the bigger ones so that it's not too much of a hassle to clean..
-
awesome fish! The wind was howling and it was so loud even indoors!! But with your good results, I congratulate you!

Nice photos! THanks for sharing. The only thing I wonder is that these huge walleye go and spawn every spring.....but where do their offspring go? Do the pike eat all of them? If thats the case, I think these walleyes should be put into another lake Their genes will create awesome fish that will grow HUGE!

I wouldn't have just tossed it back for dinner if it was attacking my dog. It would have taken a few bashes to the head, or it's coming home with me for dinner! LOL

Oh billM I'm trying to see whether these hooks that straighten out still have some use. I think I would rather give my hook / bait away than to let a big fish straighten out my hooks and then losing the fish! And do you guys think that loosening the drag even more before the hook flexes will keep these hooks from bending?
-
Thanks for all the info everyone! I think I will be using these hooks a few times this year, but if I lose anymore fish on it, They are going in the garbage As for the rod guide help, looks like I will be getting a rod with the Fuji Concept this year Thanks again!

I don't know if it's been posted, but for those that want to check river conditions before they head out on a long drive could check this website: Real-Time Hydrometric Data Here, although it doesn't give you a visual of how the river is looking, it will tell you the levels and how high the river is running!

awesome report, Nice fish too Cliff! -
awesome to see early softwater reports! Nice to see you even took your child out! You better pray that she's hooked onto fishing so that you can fish with her for many years to come!

Don't go and waste more money on new braid. Braid isn't like mono and doesn't deteriorate over time / get memory. The braid should be fine for you to use until you feel that you don't have enough line on your spool. If braid were to be changed every year, I think I would have just stuck to mono because of its price tag.

Hi everyone, Hope everyone has had a good fishing week unlike, me. But I've got two questions for all of you walking and talking fishing gurus: 1. Light Wire Hooks on Jigheads - The ones that bend so that you can straighten them out when you get a snag to retrieve your lure. How useful are they in a fisherman's arsenal? I bought a large quantity of them over the course of last year, and only to find out that they bent very easily especially when larger fish were hooked. After I found out about that fact, these jigheads have been collecting dust since. Is there a proper way to use these hooks without for fishing and not straightening them out on a fish? Or should these go in the garbage can by now? 2. Fuji Concept Guides on Rods - I am in the market for a new rod in the next couple of weeks, but does anyone know what the Fuji Concept Guides do for a rod? Does it affect casting distance / backbone / Line breaking ? Do you feel that the Fuji Concept Guides are necessary for a rod that you plan on keeping? Thanks in Advance for any input you guys have on these questions EC

HAHA, I doubt it though. I think if they know how to eat walleye, they probably will stick to it since it's so good.

It's good, I've caught my share of fish using them. but you've gotta start using the search tool before posting. After doing the search, there are 12 pages of threads that include the word gulp.
-
wow, that musky looks impressive!
-
Lol. These would probably be awesome, you're doing the 3 R's Reducing waste, Reusing and Recycling!! But someone's gotta make a sled for these things to pull though. Thought it'd be fun to share - Enjoy!

NICE dirk. I didn't get into any today though. So you're 1 in this week, and I'm at 0 this week. Arrived at frenchman's at 4 or so, after you left and boy, the parking lot was completely full. Didn't even try your spot.

when I use trilene, I ALWAYS stick with the lo-vis green. For some reason the clear stuff seems to have more memory and is harder. Maybe the clear stuff I got was a bad batch, but now I have the most confidence with lo-vis green no matter when/where

I saw that ad today too! I was thinking about applying, but then the things that they were selling doesn't even look anywhere close to what I would buy myself. They have this thing where you put onto the back treble of crankbaits and spoons, which supposedly is like a piece that leaves a scent trail. I honestly think this is a gimmick and my crankbaits catch fish just fine without that piece. BUT, their website does look like they invested a lot of money to design / illustrate their products! Maybe it is a good product!

Lol. But Good on You for being such a good owner and taking him right to the vet!

Wow, all of these remedies. It's going to be useful if that ever happens to me in the future. But all this talk has me wondering, a dog's nose is ever soooooooooo strong, do they hate it? Or do they act like nothing happened except they're now walking around like a skunk?

Is that Rapala Line any good? They were all in weird pound tests - 17 , 20 , 14, and the lightest I found was 10. But I guess at 1.99 even if it is terrible you didn't waste too much money.
