  1. Nice job out there, Looking to get my first ice fish in the PM today at scugog!
  2. Shipping went much cheaper than it was last year. It used to be 29.99 for any 1 package whether it be a rod or a box of baits. This year, even a one piece rod is going for $15 on the shipping.
  3. When you get the goods, you will have to pay some taxes to the UPS guy. For 130, Last time I paid about 15 dollars. Good luck on your purchases, they are awesome.
  4. Nice fish Mike! Those 'creatures' are pretty damn scary when I first saw them. Lol.
  5. exactly what happened to me today. Saw 2 fish hooked, and maybe missed a handful of hits between all of the people fishing at 1 hole.
  6. Tibbs I was at BPS today, I believe the premiers were $27. Looks like you gotta shop around for the best deals
  7. Nice Job out there! How'd the first day end up going Anthony?
  8. Mike this is an awesome topic. I've learned so many things this year...Last year I was pretty simple for fishing (Still am)...floats , jighead, and crankbaits..... This year I've Learned to use: Senkos texas skin rigged for LMB in the weeds Adding a Fluoro Leader to different techniques Topwater poppers - I still havent caught a fish on the frog, so I can't say I've learned it yet drive a canoe on a trolling motor Remotely learned how to fish for steelhead And after the season closed, I'm learning how to use a baitcaster and to flip and pitch with it...Far from accurate, and don't have ANY experiences on the water. Next year I want to: Be Accurate with flipping and pitching Use a spinnerbait / buzzbait effectively Catch a fish with the frog Punch heavy mat cover for bass

    Hey JPD!

Hi Roy, There is a review on another site...I don't know if I should mention names, so on google, type in Shimano Stradic Ci4 Review...and Second link is an actual review. I had a chance to hold it in a store and they are really nice in hand..Super light.. The only thing I have against it is that it's quite loud when you crank it fast and that they don't carry an extra spool. The extra spool would have been nice to switch between braid and mono without respooling.
  10. Was definitely a fun day out there yesterday! Thanks for taking me out bud!
  11. I think I'll end up trying all sorts of different techniques. Deep, shallow, in between. Probably will be getting a few spoons on top of my couple of inline spinners. Do you guys tip the baits with a full worm or just a piece of it?
  12. Thanks a lot for the info Gentlemen! With any luck, I'll be making a report!
  13. Hi Everyone, Once again, I'm getting an opportunity to head to my buddy's cottage just south of Algonquin Park. I know that there's bass and rainbow trout that's in there, but bass are closed, so therefore, I'm asking again on how to target these trout! At this time of year, where would you be looking for trout in an algonquin like lake? The deepest? Shallow? Or all over? Thanks in Advance
  14. mike, I've been looking at the Vendetta really hard...It looks like an awesome rod to me One concern is that the guides are questionable, so I will wait until around next bass opener before I go get a new rod.. And I think you'll have to order that rod online to get it..Or drive to the states. I'll PM you a link you should look at regarding the quality and build of the rod.
  15. As of today, I have been on this forum for a full two years! All I have to say is WOW, this is a great place to be. Probably even now, many of you guys don't know me, but I did happen to meet a few great people on this website. And when I look back at all of these times, there are so many things that are so super amusing: People giving help to everyone else, its helped me put quite a few fish under my title too! Getting bashed on by the entire forum when new members begin to ask about spots and or tips about things that others wish to be kept a secret. The NF topics that always throw a completely different perspective to my thoughts. Some comments on whatever anyone else has to say, and then stirring everything right up... I enjoy reading GCD's posts in particular Cheers Everyone, to a great website...And I hope it stays strong for its years to come Let this website be lively over the winter where I won't be fishing for quite a while
  16. Yup, just buy your license in 2010. I had the same situation that was this year..Got my fishing license on the first few days of January. You're lucky..I couldn't even fish the November 15 Kawartha Closer last year as my Birthday was on Nov 13.
  17. OH SNAP! Will if you don't mind, can you PM me the name of her new school? If it's close enough to where I am now, I may have to drop by and congratulate her!
  18. Haliburton waters are a bit deeper, and take a longer time to cool. That would be my guess. One day a few weeks back I visited a lake way further north and the bass were still jumping, but when I got back to the kawarthas, the water was way cold and never saw a fish at the surface. Sorry, can't help you with temps though..I don't have a fishfinder. I can tell you that the water in the Kawarthas is really really cold...I think it might start forming ice by December.
  19. I think this is all in the situation...In congested traffic, there's pretty much a need to go in while the person behind you is braking... But otherwise, I think you're right...it's about trying your best to stay out of other's ways....But hey, I get it from idiots like that quite often..You're gonna have to stay alert...defensive driving is the key. Driving is the most dangerous way to travel anyways.
  20. The concrete floor is sort of a myth, now that batteries are sealed a lot better than they used to. Old batteries used to leak and discharge onto the floor, because of its porous container... Even though I know that is a fact, I still place three layers of cardboard underneath the battery...Just so I feel a bit safer
  21. nice job will! BTW, how's Ms. Smith doing? I hear she's not at Trudeau anymore.
  22. awesome video dave! I want to be the first to own one of those baits Hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!
  23. Does anyone have some insider info on the walleye? After reading their proposal, it looks like they might put a stricter slot / less numbers of walleye for keep next year.
