  1. I should be entering this thing, I hit 11 last season
  2. Man you guys got alot of lures. I probably had 10-12 raps, 10 topwater, 10 spinnerbaits, a selection of jigs/grubs, 10 bags of plastics and im good to go for the summer. ...and I catch fish all summer!
  3. I think i just figured out a way to do that, I did some for my raven and they turned out OK but I think I got a better idea. If it works out ill let you know because it can be done with home tools Plastic handles SUCK.

    PORN!

I pay half gas and bring timmies of choice, you can pick me up at 5. Thats a beauty bud, congrats
  5. I found when making reel handles that even a drill press isnt perfect.
  6. I post more in the winter...mostly because I dont enjoy the cold. welcome back
  7. Ive been watching tavares for 4 years (seasons tickets), and the kid is the real deal. Watch the numbers he is going to put up for london during the rest of the season, first star his first three games out there.
  8. Lots of good calls, but what about steve mason? I think you could see him in the backup spot the way hes been playing Also think toews will see the ice
  9. Not sure about Balsam, but I definatly caught many more on buckhorn this season intentionally and accidentally. Actually found that I couldnt keep them off the bass lures around dusk!
  10. Ha, dude oshawa is frozen...COMPLETELY. Id need an auger, and at this rate is gonna stay that way till june. Is the kingpin in yet? I cant wait to see that thing in action.
  11. Nobody can drink jager bombs and be successful at fishing...or much else after! That said, it is probably one of the most popular drinks around campus
  12. I agree it will, I caught alot of steelhead before I went to a pin. I will say, however that the pin is MUCH more effective at controlling the drift, and getting the bait to the fish.
  13. i knew something seemed off about that figure. dang metric thanks
  14. oh i christened her, one nice one and a few tiny buggers. shes gonna get a workout this spring though! Well get out for sure, just let me know
  15. Its never the reels fault...however jigs, roe bags, flys, worms, minnows and other bait may be blamed!
  16. Im crazy careful with my reels, the last one was sold without even the smallest scratch. Good to know about that center shaft though, I had heard that it was easy to bend, but also heard that it wasnt. I dont battle alot of salmon anyways, and I have a beater set up for that.
  17. Most of my bass rods are MH, I dont waste time puttin them in the boat. Its not really that specific of a science (for most of us that have wallets to worry about). Fish was feels right in your hand
  18. Ah, Glen... It aint the reel that catches the fish!
  19. Not a fish this time, sorry guys. I have another kind of chrome, picked it up as a christmas present for myself and man do I like it. Raven Vectra SST 3, with custom handles that Im in the process of working on. I think a darker stain with a slight reddish tinge is gonna look cool. Pulled the bearings and degreased/sewing machine oiled and now it spins forever. Raven claims that this is the lightest pin out there, but so do a few other companies so who knows (who cares?) but it is damn light (like 6.8g light). The startup is just stupid fast, and it basically fishes itself. I really like the twist knob that controls the bearings, this was I can actually adjust it for different flows mid drift with no tools, wonderful idea. I have only had it out a couple times (all was around -10) and it performed like magic, so far I am really happy with it. I happen to like Raven products, they offer good value and when you are paying 18 K a year for school value is key! I owned a matrix before this, and it was cheap but a really solid little pin. Never gave me troubles and worked flawlessly until the day I sold it. Reel matches up perfectly with my custom build St Croix, as it is a very light rod. Heres some pics See ya on the river
  20. No kidding, I got suckered by a 10 bearing BPS reel once. It NEVER worked right, and I dont use it. I also have a 12 year old shimano 2000, 2 bearings and is still a great reel
  21. In the boat? Ice cold can of coke...not sure why because I dont actually drink much coke but on the water its great. Thats in between water bottles of course, I have a habit of drinking 6-8 bottles of water a day. On the shore at night waitin for the wallies to take the bait an ice cold moosehead/creemore springs/pabst (only if im broke). I've been known to have a pint while on the river as well...as long as Im not drivin of course
  22. Funny, ask this question in june and I bet 50 percent of the people who chose ice would be saying softwater
  23. Im not looking for an argument here either, but you have to think about what you just said to me. If I asked you about new tires for my car, would to tell me to just buy a new car? Because its the same idea... This isnt goin anywhre good, lets get rid of it
  24. So im sitting here, bored and watching crappy music videos on much music and I decided that instead of spending coin to upgrade my bearings id try the degrease and light oil trick I have been hearing about around here. For the test I very scientifically lightly flicked my reel pre pit stop and came up with a spinning time of 2:10. Not bad, but I knew it could do better... little did I know! After a ten minute procedure and a regrease with my favourite bike oil (SUPER light, and its a dry type oil) I lightly flicked it again...actually seemed a little less hard than the first time and got a spin time of... SIX AND A HALF MINUTES Now, I'm not one to brag about my gear...nor do I care what anyone else rocks, because I say get out there and fish what you got so this post is simply a heads up for people to take the ten minutes and do a little work that will greatly improve the performance of your reel for FREE. unbelieveable, thanks Solo and Drifter and any others that have mentioned this tip Its GOTTA be bedtime now...
