Just got a call from my oldman telling me that we are mixing it up a bit this year and will be hitting the Ottawa river Thanksgiving weekend for our annual fall fishing trip. I haven't been to the Ottawa since I was 13 or so when we stayed at Driftwood Provincial Park If anyone could possibly provide me with a little fishing info I'd really appreciate it. I like new adventures, but would like to maximize our time on the water by catching fish and not washing lures No hotspots required, but some patterns/tactics would be nice! We are staying at Antlers Lodge, in Deux Rivers.. Do the muskie make it up this far? or should we just be focusing on pickerel/bass, snot rockets?

Just a sec, the fish is going to die in about 2 weeks anyhow correct? I don't see the big deal, personally I would have taken all the eggs because she will most likely not be able to deposit the remaining.

You think a 4wt is going to be big enough for steelies? I am in the same predicament.. I want to fish steelhead this fall/winter but don't think my 4wt setup is going to be up for the task.. Perhaps I'll just buy a 7-8wt rod and use my current reel..

If you are a beginner why not pick up a Hobbs Creek setup from BassPro? I picked up a 4wt setup, with reel, line everything ready to go. I think it was $129.... Don't waste your $$$ on something if you aren't 100% sure that's what you want. (BTW, I still haven't caught a fish on it yet, but I'm trying, lol)

energy, potash, pretty much any resource would be a good thing to put some $$$ into... If you have some time, sinking a bit of $$$ into financials will pay off, but not now.. You'd have to sit on it for a while. Banks always bounce back.

I think the 50+ fines are great, but saying someone is 'streetracing' while doing a buck 50 down the 400 is just stupid. Another law put into place by people who couldn't define 'streetracing' to save their own life. 50 over anywhere is insane, especially on a backroad.. Good luck getting the car stopped when Mr.Buck decides to step out in front of you. The good thing however is that you'll only end up killing yourself and not some other innocent person.

I had that happen in Barrie a few months ago. Was driving down Essa paying no attention at all, and saw the cop running to his car. Well I knew I was busted, so I made my left turn onto Mapleview and pulled over. The cop however got a red light, so I just sat there on the side of the road with my 4 ways on until he made it through the intersection. He asked me if I was in a hurry, and I told him I just wasn't paying attention. He thanked me for pulling over so quickly and told me to have a nice day.

I'd be fishing more then 16 fow in the fall for muskies.. Steep breaks with access to open water, deep weedlines etc etc. I don't think many lakes have turned over yet, so they should still be in their summer haunts.
