  1. You want a full sized reel for throwing muskie baits (Abu Record, Calcutta, etc etc)
  2. lol this is comedy gold... Do people REALLY think switching hands makes a difference? My right hand is the dominant hand, why would I want to cast with anything else? It's all personal preference, nothing more..
  3. Nah, these were black backed, golden side typical northern ontario walleye with blue highlights, lol... There is a lake on Manitoulin that still has some 'blue' pickerel and pike if I'm not mistaken...
  4. Jacques, you need The Canadian Resident Temporary Fishing Outdoors Card along with the fishing permit.. You can get all this at any Crappy Tire.
  5. How many fish have you lost because you had to switch hands? lol I know I don't even think about switching hands when I'm baitcasting, it's like breathing.... I also know that I have way better control of my casts when my right hand is on the reel and the left is on the butt of the rod..
  6. Spinning reel - left hand, baitcaster - right hand, centerpin - left hand, golf - right hand, hockey - left hand.
  7. We caught some walleye with some really blue fins this year during a flyin trip... Was pretty cool to see.
  8. Joey, you are now a published author!! How friggin cool it that??
  9. Holy crap a thread almost 2 years old.
  10. I have the same Uvex from Costco... Only prob is that one set of lenses are polarized.. The other two you get aren't.
  11. Dude, no offense but it's time to use a decent graph.. I can jig in 100ft of water and see everything on my Humminbird in real time.... Rod goes up, jig 2ft off the bottom goes up, rod goes down, jig goes back down. I pulled a whitey 20ft off the bottom last saturday and got it to commit in about 76ft of water.. I dunno how much more 'real time' it gets.
  12. Please send it Daves way, I need more dry flies
  13. Ah, ok that makes a bit more sense. That first pic kinda looks like a bomb went off, lol
  14. From all the busted branches and crap, I'd say it put up a bit of a struggle..
  15. It can be if you need to call 911 because of a slip :)
  16. Very good tip. I just picked up a tub of Proraso eucalyptus oil that goes on pre-soap and post shave if needed. I'll give it a shot today and let you know how it works out
  17. All we ever used in Florida were Goofy jigs and half a shrimp... Ladyfish, whitings, mackerel, jacks, sheephead, pomps, you name it we caught it...
  18. Doug, I picked up a great sampler pack from a vendor on that site
  19. Depends on where the TV is going to be... Upstairs in the livingroom, lots of light go with a LCD. Downstairs a bit darker, plasma for sure. Plasmas will have glare issues in a room with lots of light, but they tend to have better black levels then LCD's... You can't really make a bad choice with the TV's of today...
  20. Doug, give it a shot... I am willing to bet you'll never shave with a disposable again.
  21. Hey Jim, I find I get a way better shave with a lot less irritation with a DE compared to a disposable. I can actually shave upwards on my neck with my DE and not end up with a burning face after it's all said and done. It also doesn't get clogged up like my Mach3 used to... I can make one pass, regardless of how long I've left my beard and it will be as smooth as a babies ass. I'd need 2 or 3 passes with a Mach 3 to get the same result.. Also the blades on the Mach 3 tend to pull then cut your facial hair, this is how you end up with irritation.. I did some research and decided to give it a try.. Sure the prep takes longer, but for me it's an enjoyable 5-10mins or so...
  22. If someone is out on their dock, I don't even bother fishing it. I just say hello and move on to the next.
  23. The 565 has a dual beam setup, a 60 degree wide and a 20 degree narrow. You should only be using the 20degree narrow beam while out on the ice... Also, leave the bottom ID and max depth set to Auto...
  24. I've been using my 747c out on Simcoe with the Humminbird PTC U portable case/gel battery.. It's been awesome.. other then increasing the sensitivity and the zoom to 4x for the split screen, it's been great. No issues with picking up my jig just off bottom. Unit is 4000W if that makes any difference.
