  1. What you described would be refered to as 'swinging flies'..... The 'spey' in spey fishing refers to a specifc type of cast. Try using the correct terminology and you'll get less replies.
  2. I'd probably hit the piers that are close to Hamilton, Bronte etc. You can toss baits such as J13 Rapalas, 1oz Cleos, etc etc. If there are any browns around I'm sure you'll get bit.
  3. Ok, so what you are doing isn't spey fishing... I've toss a fly and split shot on my UL setup more then a few times. Great way to catch residents.
  4. I'll gladly take that point! Kadri could have finished it however!!!
  5. Depends on what amperage the plug is rated for... The Minn Kota plugs (MKR-18) will do 12, 24 or 36V.. Rob, if you need help re-wiring anything, just drop me a line.
  6. Talk to Ryan over at We Pound 'Em.. Board member and over all great guy.. I'm fairly certain they fish the southern Lake O shore in the spring.. That's where you'll want to be in May!
  7. So buy a new motor and void your warranty right off the bat? That doesn't seem very smart.
  8. I think you should figure out what spey fishing is before you attempt it with an Ugly Stick... What you're saying makes zero sense.
  9. I'm not sure how spey got brought into this thread to be honest. It's on a completely different level then your typical spinning setup. It's not like you toss your Sahara on a Uglystick and start swinging flies with April Vokey
  10. Don't you have enough experience with those fantastic playoff runs the Sens have made? Should be used to it by now
  11. If you haven't iced fished for them, you should. It's like a video game out on Simcoe So much fun.
  12. Let's hope this weather co-operates!! Lake O needs to heat up!
  13. I was hoping for more jiggling.
  14. I'd love to see someone try and spey fish with an ugly stick... That would be hilarious!
  15. Whatever swims, I fish for it (except carp)... Icefishing for lakers/whities/perch, then you have early season Lake O browns/salmon/whatever, then trout opener, then pike, the muskie, then bass, etc etc etc... Only thing I need to do is start fishing for late season smallies on Simcoe.. I think I'm missing out on some big big fish
  16. Max out the motor if possible. You don't regret it.
  17. Sure, why not? As long as you are fishing from a boat you're golden. Still can only use one line when fishing from shore/pier etc.
  18. I use a place on Tiffin right before Anne. I forget the name, but the shop manager always helps me out and doesn't charge me much at all. It's almost right across from the equipment rental place.
  19. All of the Leaf games at home are sold out. It's the richest franchise in the NHL.
  20. 2 lines from a boat in open water in zone 20 for Lake O.. You don't have to be trolling.
  21. Agreed, well worth the drive.. Op would be silly not to pull that boat up to Penetang and get it fixed correctly.
  22. Me either... Ditches aren't on the top of my list of places to fish :) Either is trying to entice fish while they are on the beds, lol! This is why when opener arrives, the steelhead gear goes in the closet until fall. I like chasing residents with the 4/6wt or chucking tiny spinners on UL gear.
