  1. I've caught walleyes on topwater before at night.. (Whitefish as well will be up there when the drakes are hatching)
  2. Check to see if you have a EGR/EGR cooler that might be leaking, could be an internal or external leak getting into the exhaust or onto one of the manifolds. You won't find a drop on the ground because it's already be burned up.
  3. You'd definitely need a solid front axle upgrade in order to do a 4BT. TDI would easily go in there, it's just bolting it up to the 4L60E which would be a pain in the ass.
  4. Awesome!!!
  5. What you are seeing hatching out there definitely aren't stoneflies. Most likely brown drakes (ie mayflies).. In the nymph stage they all look very similar (kinda like Atlantic and brown smolts) but calling them stoneflies is incorrect. And being out there when there's a hatch on can be crazy! (And frustrating at the same time if I've left my 4wt at home!)
  6. That's a huge downgrade, I wouldn't even consider it. If you're that bored with your job, that's really no ones fault but your own. As a guy who's been in the IT world for close to 20yrs, if you're bored switch specialties and learn a new skill.
  7. Very nice! 1 week to go!
  8. I don't think I'll ever get rid of my S10 ZR2. However a 4BT (or even TDI swap) would be fantastic.
  9. I hope these are Coast Guard approved :)
  10. 2015 Canyon with the 2.8 Duramax Can't wait until those show up on the dealer lots.
  11. Good point. If the motorcyclists weren't paying attention and slammed into the back of a disabled car, who's at fault now? The guy who's car broke down? I highly doubt it. Even in this case, the motorcyclist has to take some responsibility.
  12. Chinese paper eh? lol
  13. I'd spend more $$$ on a set of waders then I would a reel. I'm guilty of spending quite a bit of $$$ on centerpin reels, but in the end all they do is hold line. Sure you'll have better start up on some vs others and better bearings etc, but if it's not in your budget, get a cheap reel (Especially if it's for a second setup) and spend that extra $$$ on waders. Islanders are workhorses, I'd take that everyday over a KingPin. You could fish it for years and probably sell it for what you bought it for as long as you take care of it.
  14. People say the winner is chosen every 4 years.. It's nothing new
  15. Did you also observe the weather/waves in that pic compared to the other ones? I'm guessing no.
  16. Definitely a bad bad move, but I'm guessing target fixation played a big role in this as well. How do you just slam into the back of a parked car? It's not like she instantly stopped, and obviously they weren't right behind her.... It's just a crappy situation all around.
  17. You can absolutely put me in the 'respect your quarry' boat. We also know chinooks are terrified of marshmellows.
  18. You shouldn't have to but anything that helps with wear and tear during cold starts is a good thing in my books. If you can without too much of a hassle, absolutely yes. Also, don't let it idle, start it up, let it even it self out then drive it. You won't gain any sort of engine temp in the winter by letting it idle for 10-15mins.
  19. I really can't get upset when the MNR stops me, I actually look forward to it. Always like to hear what they've got to say, especially the guys doing the fish surveys.
  20. Make the wife fix it!
  21. Is that the guy that tossing actual spoons with hooks? lol
  22. Diesel vehicles also get better mileage when it's hot and muggy outside. Winter diesel has less BTU's per litre because of the anti gelling treatment it receives at the refinery.. So don't worry once it's -30 out and you're getting not so stellar mileage
  23. You need to stick your head up there and see what's going on.
  24. Wasn't he hammered about 80% of the time?
