I love my flasher. Definitely shines in many situations. I can say that my catch rate improved dramatically with one. There are plenty of situations I can recall that without it, I wouldn't have hooked the fish - let alone found any fish. Any sonar suitable for ice fishing would be worth getting IMO.

Are you buying it because she asked for a warm coat, or specifically a Canada Goose coat? The Canada Goose coats have been very fashion trendy for the past couple of years, so if it's for fashion reasons make sure you buy the actual brand =) I see all these kids wearing them in downtown Toronto and I just think how hot they must be, lol. I'd sweat my Ferrero Roches off just walking down the street in one.

Technically you cannot have a valid outdoors card AND a new 3 year license. The card expires in three years as well now. So, even if you have 1 year left on your card, you will need to buy a new card to go with your 3-year license. I would just buy a new card and print the temporary e-card. Assuming the site allows that at all. It's not very obvious what's going on with that website IMO. Assuming I understand what you're saying anyway, lol.

Almost that time; purchasing or renewing your Outdoors Card

OK, renewed my license today. I did it online. It never ceases to amaze me at how badly the government implements their websites. Who makes these decisions? I've been using computers since the advent of the dial-up modem. However, I still have trouble navigating these bloated and illogical government websites. Every so-called "improvement" is usually 10 steps backwards as well. The license renewal process falls into that category IMO. Anyway, /rant off... -
Awesome! Who wouldn't want to go there....besides my wife, lol!

Sorry to hear about your uncles situation. I am sure the Dick Proenneke in him will put up a good fight! Thanks for the report. Some nice pictures. I feel bad for the dog though. He had to wait for you to finish your post for that walk!

I've only been in London for a year now, but last year I just traveled north to Simcoe and further. I might try somewhere on St.Clair this year if the weather cooperates. I'd recommend heading up to Lake Simcoe or if you just want to give it a try Island Lake near Orangeville.

Of course, being the internet, there are some remixes of it.

Somewhat shocked at this. Although, I cannot say that I know the quarry would have had a negative affect on the environment, I am still happy that it's not going ahead.

Nice fish and great pics! Definitely a tribute to some good Canadian fishing. BTW, do you rent rooms?

Fishing and Disney, now that's a combination I can work with =) It's very impressive your son is only 3 and so capable. Definitely a future pro!

older canoe trip report, NF but outdoorsy

It took you three years to post that story?!? Shame on you Thanks for the post and glad everyone was OK. -
Getting good information on mattresses is impossible. Every store has their own line so you can't even compare within the same manufacturer. The lines change constantly as well. My understanding is that the pillow tops are prone to getting "sunk in" over time. I didn't buy one for that reason. Is yours a pillow top?

You sure it's on November 26th? I emailed them recently and the response said December. -
The Chutes always looked like an awesome place to me. I tried to find information about it a couple years ago, but wasn't much on the net. Do you know if it's still in operation? This is the report I read on it that piqued my interest.

They also changed some of the designs, but some were also changed back. For example, the Hot'N'Tot had a metal lip which people liked because it banged on the rocks and was also bendable. The metal lip was changed to a plastic lip of different shape and size. With the current "original" Hot'n'Tots I am not sure if the lip is metal or plastic [it's painted and it seems like metal, but I haven't actually tried to bend one]. The shape and thickness is also now the same as the older model. Dave Storm started his own line at some point called Kaboom Lures and continued some of the original storm models. I am not sure if he's still in business or not. Never seen those Brad's lures before. Nice find, the design and paint jobs are exactly like Storms. Might have to order some.

Best State/location for Fishing trip getaway in US

I remember watching a fishing show on a lake that's in Texas and spans across the border into Mexico (either Amistad or Falcon Lake). They were catching some MEGAbass there. -
Collecting golf balls? Of course that wouldn't make much sense if the river you're talking about doesn't run through a golf course

Good idea. Just tried it and it works like a charm.
