I don't know anything about the lake, but I have a depth map if that helps any. I don't have one for the portage lake though. http://www.lineonfishing.com/images/Ontario_Outpost_Lake_Maps/Lobo_Lake-Hawk_Air.pdf

Where are all the 35,540,398 other people? I can't imagine it was just you two?

I've stayed here once - http://www.duffystavernandmotorinn.ca/ It was alright. Although, not sure if they are still open or not.

It's usually not your host, but where you type your email address in. I have five different emails, all on Gmail. The ones I don't use for logins etc.., I don't get spam with. Keep it private and should be fine.

There are plenty of great baits out there. You could always make your own too!

I've been meaning to pick up some blade baits for Walleye and Lake Trout fishing. I do own a few by Heddon, Cotton Cordell and Reef Runner, but was wondering if anyone had a preference for a certain bait. Also, I've seen some really large versions (about 6" long) for Lake Trout fishing. Anyone use those before? I know they make some for Musky as well. .

Me thinks someone had a few brown pops before measuring lol!, I thought I'd I fix it for you.

I'd recommend calling some local tackle shops or hiring a guide. Nobody will willingly give up their spots. Definitely not on the internet, especially when it comes to river fishing.

NIce. Although, I am not too sure about a pike being in a Koi pond....

There is a really good directory for Quebec.

A a couple hours further than you want, but the drive should be part of the adventure! http://www.horwoodoutpost.com/ (boat-in camp located in a great spot on Horwood Lake) http://www.red-pine-lodge.com/ (Ivanhoe Lake - make sure it's one of the waterfront cottages, they also have 2 boat-in outposts on the "River") http://www.air-ivanhoe.com/fishing-in-ontario-boat-ins.php (boat-in outposts on the Ivanhoe "River") These are ~6 hours from you: http://www.ellenislandcamp.com/ (boat-in housekeeping camp on Lady Evelyn Lake) As mentioned, there are many places on Lac Kipawa as well. I always wanted to try Two Moon Outpost Lodge, but there are at least a half dozen camps with good reputations. Check out this post listing a large number of reports from the various lodges on Kipawa. Also, if you're willing to extend the drive to about 10 hours, these two places (both owned by the same family I believe) are a bargain IMO. Especially if your kids are under16yo. I used to go to Muskie Bay often. Great place, but I am not sure if it's changed ownership or not. I haven't been there in a couple of years. Check out their Hilltop Cottage. I also frequented Elmhirst Resort. It's really nice, but probably one of the most expensive on the lake. Outdoor and Indoor pools and two restaurants, spa and all that. They have cottages with 4/5 bedrooms.

Very unfortunate. The company seemed to be doing well from my consumer perspective. It had a great reputation and I saw the products at almost every tackle store I went to. I guess the tackle business is just that tough.

Is it this one? Seems like a good deal if it is. I couldn't find it on the Costco website. http://www.equinoxkayaks.com/products-1/equinox-angler-12-0.html

I just realized, 9.2!! That's a big boy!

Congratulations! All he needs is a toque and he'll be a spitting image of you.

My mistake. Now that you mentioned it, I do recall reading something about a training centre or something. The Ennismore camp must be close by though? Anyway, I'd say Cadigans is worth a try. I think I will check it out later this year myself.
-
I think that used to be Ennismore Lodge. Maybe someone who is local can verify that. If it is, it was a very popular camp back in the day but it became run down and sold (closed?). I have no clue what it's current state is, it's been over 5 years since I was there. I imagine they put some work into it by now. Great location too. Some of the best walleye fishing is not far away. In July, find some weeds and fish them. There is a huge weed bed just across the lake from those cottages. South of there is shallow and weedy. Probably full of largemouth bass, but I've never fished down there since I rarely fish for bass. If that camp is back up and running [and been reno'd], I'd definitely stay there. Might check it out myself this summer.

YOU SHALL NOW PASS.....ME A BEER!!

Apparently, Gore-tex doesn't refer to a specific fabric but "a specific set of performance characteristics". That's probably one of the reasons you see different prices. Personally, I am just confused by it all, lol.

Just a side note, if you have an Asian supermarket in your area, beef tenderloin can be found pretty cheap. I used to get it for <$10/kg from a Korean supermarket. Of course, now that I moved out of Toronto the Asian stores near me don't even carry it.

Angling Sports at 681 Highbury and Dundas Lambeth Rod and Tackle at 2404 Main street in Lambeth. It's not that far west of Wonderland and Wharncliffe. Those are about it. Canadian Tire has increased their fishing section substantially over the past year as well.

What Are Some Tips On Internet Buying? (N. F.)
adempsey replied to Photoz's topic in General Discussion
It's not that big of a deal. Just use resources like this forum to find where there are reputable sellers. Also, Paypal is the best way to purchase anything online. They have their own customer protection in place on top of what the credit card companies offer. Stick with the big online retailers and smaller ones with a reputation. As for CC problems. I have a lower limit card dedicated for online shopping. You know what? That card has NEVER been compromised, but all my other cards (debit and CC) have been several times (one just the other day in fact). It's just as Irishfield said, gas stations are the worst culprits.
