YEP, coached my boys (football and baseball) all the way into HS and even coached one year with my youngest at HS baseball. In little league I coached years with my buddy Mike and had a great time......later we umpired together......and then went out for a few cold ones.... we would think back about some of the boys we coached and I remember Mike saying, this kid and that kid will be in jail someday and he hit it right on the nose......but most turned out to great assist to the community..... I just wish my grandchildren were closer so I could coach them as well.......

Ontario to spend $7-billion on sweeping climate change plan

I think most of you guys are NUTS and need to go fishing once in while...... -
limeyangler, I have a 2015 E-TEC and love it..........they PURR just as quiet as any Merc/Yammy 4 stroker but not as quiet as a Honda. It's has a strong hole shot yet it gets great gas mileage.....also the self winterization is the cat's meow........check it out..... I have a 90 "HO" that is really a 115 hp detuned to 90+ hp.....with the 10% manufactures are allowed it really has 115 hp at the low end then tops off to 99 hp at the top end. If you need extra torque for a heavy boat/passengers ask about the 90 "HO".....if not with a 16' boat you will probably not need it.. The regular 90 is a inline 3 cylinder engine while the 90 "HO" is a V-4 that has better choices in props.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BCcOWnm7zo

Actually the E-TEC's and especially the G2 are now catching up and will probably take over in another 5-7 years.

You must be thinking of the movie "The Great Outdoors" with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd.....during the scene where Roman is grilling lobsters. The other movie "Summer Rental" only had John Candy in it........no Aykroyd. -
I haven't had that experience...........it's more like a boat/motor/prop/ with proper weight distribution works best. If the boat is under powered nothing is going to change that problem unless you remove the lard butt in the rear of the boat.......LOL
-
You might already be getting all you can out of a 4 stroke Merc..........it's not a 2 stroker and never will be......it is what it is......... Last resort, get a E-TEC and watch the huge difference in the hole shot.......
-
I will only say that spitting four ways is nothing but trouble waiting among all of you...... But if you insist on this expenditure (not a investment) then invest ONLY the amount you are comfortable of walking away from and letting the 3 other families fighting over........ the internal fights will happen. GOOD LUCK you are going to need it.

Big Gull Lake Weekend, The Good, Bad and Ugly
Mister G replied to Raycaster's topic in General Discussion
We use to go there until the now tree huggers owners took over............the OLD couple was FANTASTIC to deal with......had a huge pile of firewood that was FREE....the new owners charge for a 5 gallon bucket of GREEN wood that will not burn.........now (haven't been there in about 7-10 years) the younger couple that took over raised prices and gave me a hard time when I took a half limit of walleyes to the cleaning station for that's night dinner. Butterflies and artistic paintings just don't do it for me and they soon learned that was not their clientele so now I see the are once again pushing for anglers to join them. TOO LATE......... -
I went about 20+ years without insurance in my old but, but now with the new rig I have insurance again.

I already told you, I can't help if you don't believe me..............being very calm and nice does help though and they had the Cabela's name on them.
-
Only way to go.........
-
You are correct as Minn Kota Motors come this way : Just a TM with either cable control or PD which is Power Drive Also available with Auto Pilot, iPilot and iPilot LINK
-
I agree that the advertising is confusing when it comes to TM........took me some studying to get exactly what I wanted each time.
-
This I have to say is amusing......... You have no idea what you purchase but now it's Cabela's fault ? ? ? I feel for you that the TM doesn't work but that kind of thing happens and I'm sure Minn Kota will straighten it out at no cost to you. As I said I went through that twice but both times Minn Kota stood behind their product and I was happy once I had a working TM which lasted for many years until I sold it when my new boat came with a new Minn Kota......

1.) A big box store is just what you posted......a BIG BOX that is a store........so like a Walmart......Cabela's and Bass Pro to the best of my knowledge have never built a big box that is a store..........both of these companies are built to be destination points for sportsmen and non-sportsmen alike.......they have aquariums, hundreds of game and fish mounts and some even have restaurant(s) within the store. Some even have archery ranges, boats and gunsmiths on site..........where have you ever seen that at any "Box Store" you know of. 2.) Yes, the local Cabela's has not been here that long but have you ever heard of mail ordering products......and I agree BPS is not Cabela's and does not have their customer service..........so that's why I no longer deal with BPS but rather Cabela's exclusively.
