There are trappers all over Ontario, some much further south than that. I know some in the KW area. Mostly Muskrat, Beaver and Mink down here though.
-
Now I've seen it all!! You weren't kidding.

What a beast...its got a head like an American Alligator. -
I once witnessed a woodpecker hammering away on a metal road sign, it made a very cool sound, and loud as hell. My guess was that it was a way of communicating, claiming a territory perhaps. Those columns appear hollow, maybe they resonate really well and that bird discovered that it sounds better than a real tree?

It does appear to have a tail in the video, but to me it looks like a short one. Like Barefoot stated the shadow might give the illusion of a longer one. But even the "shadow" tail wouldn't be long enough for a cougar tail. Even its gait looks Lynx to me.
-
Jeez, that's hard to tell tell for sure from that video, especially on my iPhone. It's grainy and far away but a Lynx gets my vote.

Anyone planning to fish downstream from Montreal?

When push comes to shove, the environment always take a back seat. Sounds like they got provincial approval anyway. -

I'll never understand why most people flush that junk down their toilets....out of sight out of mind I guess. Why not just toss it in the garbage in the first place? All that crap - female hygiene products, condoms, baby wipes, and even dental floss(one of the worst) has to be taken out of the process anyway and shipped off to landfill, it just creates huge problems with equipment failure and extra maintenance. And when it ends up back in the river, even worse. People are lazy slobs. -
Congrats! Looks just like papa! ?

Wow, that blows my mind. I work in Waste Water Treatment and the volume they are talking about is insane. Dilution is the solution to pollution, or so I've heard! Still feel sorry for any downstream users, that's nasty. -
That's pretty amazing Doug...no flaming here.
-
Nice way to break it in! Guess it's a keeper.

Beautiful day to be outside anyway, that's for sure. The pictures are pretty small on my iPhone, trying to figure what kind of double you got there in the bottom pic? Nice shooting.

Am I asking too much here? Warranty issue NF

Blows my mind how low quality some OEM tires are these days....such a rip off. -
I don't care one way or the other, but once you decide to defend yourself using forceful means, whether it's a gun, baseball bat, mag lite or Pyrex bowl what difference does it make?
-
Sorry Sinker, I'm not trying to pick on ya....but to me that comment contradicts what you said earlier about leaving things unlocked and keys in the ignition, no? Sounds like you live in a great community with a low crime rate, and your routines have worked out so far, and all the power to you. That probably wouldn't work out so well for most people living in urban centres though, different situation altogether.
-
People are products of their environment/circumstances. If you've never been a victim of crime and feel comfortable leaving your home unlocked, or keys in the ignition - that's awesome and you are definitely in the minority. But is it so hard to comprehend that other people aren't always so lucky? I've seen plenty of threads on this board of people being ripped off. Can't blame people for being cautious, once burned twice shy.

I've just looked into it a little, didn't really like what I saw.

Yeah, just joking around.

Guns are here to stay, especially when we live next to a country like the US. You can implement all the firearm restrictions you want (on law abiding citizens) but criminals will always find a way to smuggle them in.

Complete opposite of southern birds...avian spooks. Flushed birds are more often heard than seen, the ones I do see mostly flush out of shotgun range at Mach III. I consider myself very fortunate when I harvest a Ruffie!

Very nice! What a great start to the season. It would be nice to get some cooler weather now.
