  1. Pm misfish I think he ships
  2. Yes…I can’t think of the supplier off of the top of my head but they operate their own refinery now and supply fuel under one brand to all of the reserve gas stations across the province.
  3. Sounds like he’s talking about Gen 7 if you go across to Terry’s typically their premium is actually ethanol free because it’s supplied by shell rather than the native refinery.
  4. its very "shieldy" in that area...idle everywhere until you find your safe path.
  5. if you can afford it always go with more power. Thats my two cents, you never regret having more motor.
  6. its cute that evinrude thinks they are going to sell motors after how garbage their last generation of outboards were. Let sleeping dogs lie.
  7. even cheap electronics in 2022 are high grade. You can get yourself a helix unit with side and down imaging used for a couple hundred bucks these days. They should be wired correctly. This is the game you play with fishing, there is a way to do things correct without breaking the bank, how far you want to take it is up to person.
  8. Clean power runs for all electronics! It’s the only way! You can run a really heavy guage run to a shut off and then run your lines off of that but you want that run to be for electronics only! a tip for siwash, get yourself a resettable breaker for your trolling motor off of Amazon. Bass pro sells identical ones for literally 3x the price. marine grade wire and marine grade terminal ends only! Corrosion is a disaster in the marine environment and is impossible to stop. You would be blown away how fast raw copper corrodes. Tinned everything!
  9. You’ll be fine, consider the fact that all new trolling motors come with a transducer literally mounted on the head of the trolling motor. The interference is caused by electrical pulses…for example by having your trolling motor on the same battery, you will see the draw of the trolling motor on your electronics. No different than when people hook their electronics to their boats terminal bus, your lights livewells etc will project interference. although gypsy says he doesn’t see it, he may not even know what he’s looking for, or have electronics sensitive enough that it’s noticeable. I can assure you, there’s a very noted difference between high end electronics that are installed correctly vs not. I’ll tell you right now, you won’t find a single guy that’s running $10,000+ worth of electronics on their boat with the electronics hooked to their trolling motor battery.
  10. You don’t want to run your electronics with your trolling motor battery you are going to experience massive interference effectively wasting the investment you make in your electronics.
  11. i think its a totally fair price, i sold a fortrex 80 this spring for the same price. Hes in the right ballpark for it to actually move.
  12. your electronics battery is your starting battery. Hence you want enough juice to do both. A group 27 easily provides that. If you are really hardcore running livescope and 3 units, livewells for 13 hours all day and trying to turn over a 200+hp engine you need a group 31. AGM batteries are a different tech, they provide huge reserve capacity and big time cold cranking amps. The best of both worlds. The Canadian Tire Nautilus AGM batteries are made by east penn deka battery...they are the absolute top of the line battery you can buy with a really great price and warranty. For reference on my skeeter last year due to space limitations I was tournament fishing running livescope two 9 inch garmins a helix 7 and livewells with the xd group 27...did multiple 13 hour days like that without issue. Heres a thread explaining my entire journey researching batteries at the end I explain my findings about Canadian Tire AGM's
  13. always go as high as you can that will still allow you to get out of the hole. Once on plane then you want as much bow lift as possible without cavitating. will take trying it with different loads and conditions to find the sweet spot.
  14. you dont want your trolling motor running on your starting battery, nor do you want your marine electronics running on the same battery as your trolling motor. I would run a couple of nautilus group 27 agm's from canadian tire and call it a day.
  15. Or throw an evergreen jackhammer was fishing santee Cooper a few years back and one followed my jackhammer boatside and was up against the length of my boat. I couldn’t believe my friggin eyes while also being extremely terrified of the 8 foot long monster swimming after my bait. At least the big gators down there don’t chase your baits!
  16. I know it sounds like doom and gloom, but here's a real life scenario, I crossed the land border during the border closed period in November of 2021. I was so excited about getting my new boat and being as organized as possible to get over the US border that I completely forgot to do the arrivecanada app upon my return with my new to me boat. I was required to go in anyways to pay the taxes for the boat importation, the agent asked about my use of the app and i explained that I had totally forgotten but literally had my negative PCR test and vaccine receipts with my passport, I ended up getting "randomly selected" to get a covid test upon arrival (at no cost to me except my time) It wasnt that big of a deal.
  17. yes, a single shot of J&J is classified as "fully vaccinated" The arrive canada App isnt that difficult to use.
  18. I need to pick your brain about gar fishing some time, I’ve got a couple of spots where I know some giants live and I just have no real clue what it takes to make the big ones bite and stay on.
  19. Bunks still the goat! Great stuff as always
  20. Fresh trax’s point is actually so true I just forgot because it’s been a while since I’ve used an electric steer. but truthfully when I had a terrova I spent 90% of my time pointing my boat into the wind, hitting “constant” and then hitting “heading” effectively once you’ve aimed the boat and put the setting on a speed that gets you to crawl into the wind, the boat will literally drive itself. on really windy days fishing open water I still use this functionality like crazy rather than dancing around on the trolling motor as the wind attempts to throw the boat everywhere. Keeping the boat under power stop the boat from swinging sideways while rolling forward.
  21. You will learn to use the pedal, do not give up on it. eventually it will become such an extension of your body that the speed of the terrova electric steering won’t be fast enough for you. Well that is unless you experience the feeling of a “cable steer feel” motor like a Garmin force. Once you go with that style you can never go back IMO.
  22. This is literally a topic without an actual clear answer from the MNR. to date I have not heard of a single concern expressed by the MNR as it relates to taking photos of large musky caught. for greater certainty consider the fact that in Georgian bay the possession length for a musky is 54+ inches and only for sport license carriers. Which truthfully means that 99.9% of the musky photos you have seen taken of fish caught in Georgian bay are “illegal” by definition. where this gets even more grey is that the MNR actually did release a statement as it related to the zone 20 pre spawn bass season where they clearly indicated that taking photos of catches during the 0 possession season is unlawful. The main reason for this was that tournament directors immediately inquired regarding the legalities of an MLF style catch, measure, photo, release tournaments during the period. The MNR quickly shot the idea down. (Rightfully so) here’s my personal take, OOS fish don’t count, don’t bother taking photos of them. My “pb” laketrout isn’t my pb, I caught it bass fishing, I promptly unhooked the thing and sent it home back to spawn. fish are in season but have slot sizes/convoluted possession limits? Take a picture with your 50 inch musky no one is going to say a peep. The MNR makes a specific reference to a species in a specific season, adhere to their rules.
  23. I was autocharting a bunch with a helix 7 for a time so that required swapping cards. Then I acquired a helix 9 and it had two slots so I didn’t need to swap anymore. Now I’ve gone totally Garmin so I don’t touch cards what so ever because they own navionics.
  24. To get the cards out I’ve honestly resorted to using a knife to poke the ridge on them. The card will actually make an audible click noise when it gets pushed into the slot. Don’t push too hard, just nice enough to feel and hear that little click. to remove you will once again push on the card to hear that click and it will release the card from the slot.
  25. Kawarthas are a grind in early July as the bass adjust to summer water temperatures. Especially on calm clear sunny days. Friday it was cloudy with a chop and had the best day of fishing I’ve ever had in my life on the tri lakes, Fished a tournament Saturday didn’t have a limit until 1:30 in the afternoon. Cooler water temperatures than is standard for this time of year and the weed growth is behind as well.
