  1. I tend to love this time of year!! ....no bugs to deal with....BOQ hawgs are startin to migrate in from Lake O, Muskies are starting their fall feeding frenzy....and last but not least...THE BEER STAYS COLD WITHOUT HAVING TO PUT ICE IN THE COOLER
  2. Nice lookin' Brown!
  3. Nice looking ski lads!!!...They're starting the fall bite a little later than last year but let's hope it only GETS BETTER Lew, Give'm hell this week with that Firetiger color bait!!...looks like you're gonna get some nice weather for your trip!!
  4. Jacques, she was 53"x23 " ~ 33lbs
  5. After being stuck in the house all day yesterday watching the rain come down, thinking it was here for the entire weekend, I was quite surprised to wake up and see stars in the sky and a let up with the wind gust ...... Had a quick coffee, grabbed my gear and went out Muskie huntin' here on the river.... .....didn't take long before this fall fatty decided to grab my crankbait and have some fun with me!....I landed her by 8:15AM....a few pike after that and then the winds picked up so I decided to head back to the house... Sorry guys....decided to blur the background because of a few local lurkers that have been looking at this from another site
  6. Greta report and pics guys!!!....I really enjoyed that!
  7. Welcome to a great site we're looking forward to your first post and LOTS OF PICS
  8. You too eh Lew??....Same here on the Ottawa yesterday...
  9. Nice report and great lookin eyes!!...yum yum!!
  10. Josh, I have the Compre CPC-M70MF and the Convergence CVC-F70H......Both are great rods...they are 1 piece rods and have been put to a lot of use!!....the Convergence was ~$85 and the Compre ~ $119 Steve
  11. Guys, I guess I left this too late....no worries, I'll try and make the next G2G in June next year up at Lakair Mike, as far as the tourny entries go....I have 3 Quinte day trips planned so far and I'm hoping that one of those outings will result in some additional inches for SABIKI SLAMMERS Good luck Guys!! Steve
  12. This is a BUMP for a post I put up earlier before newbie "carpstarter2" added his .000000000000000002 cents worth to this post
  13. Guys...there's a chance that I may be able to join you if there's enough room...I've got all the gear (cranks, in-line planer boards, etc...) and can bring my 14' deep hull Smokercraft with a 15HP or if someone has room on a larger boat I'll split the cost of gas for the duration of being there... From what I've read you guys are headin down there on Nov13th and leaving on the 15th?? Steve
  14. Nice looking eye Shawn....it's only going to get better down there on the BOQ within the next little while!!...Hoping to get down to the Bay with Don and Mike (Eric) a couple of times before the ice sets in!!
  15. Congrats on your first Salmon...
  16. Nice looking ski and congrats on your PB!!...they sure look different down there compared to the olive green ones here on the Ottawa R.
  17. Obsessive yes....crazy NO way!!....I love to see these cooler frosty mornings starting to come....this will get those big Ottawa R. Skis to start their fall gorging .......I'll keep my pontoon boat on the river until the first good 1" of ice starts to form before I take it off...hopefully that won't happen until mid Dec ......heading out shortly for a Musky hunt
  18. 90% of my fishing is done alone and I just follow a couple of rules... 1) I couldn't stand wearing a big bulky PFD, so I reached into my pocket and spent some $$$$$ for an auto-inflatable PFD that is lightweight and I wear it ALL the time now!! 2) I always keep my cell with me but some of the back trout lakes I go to will not give me any signal....so, to cover that off I leave the name of the lake with my wife, along with GPS waypoints to the lake and an appoximate time that I will back home. As far as hooking into a big Muskie by myself, I bought a Frabil Power Catch landing net which essentially is like a holding pen. I keep a measuring tape, bolt cutters, and pliers at hands reach and I always setup my tripod with the camera attached before I even set a line out... So far, so good
  19. Nice report and catch ....looks like you've got some good back road lakes up there to fish from....a winch is a good idea and NOT one of those CTC 2 ton $30 jobs....invest in an electric front mount winch with a remote and you'll have no issues next time you're out..
  20. Definately is a Heron...congrats on breakin the curse and gettin some trout!!
  21. I use 12lb P-Line which was suggested by Sheldon last fall and I'm "hooked" on that line!!....I was out with Don (Badger Shark) last year and we pulled in some pretty big gals including a huge pike out of the Bay with no probs whatsoever!!
  22. What else is creeping behind that steel grating Glen .....nice pics and report!!
  23. Great report guys....
