  3. Well, it's been one heck of a busy 3 weeks around here between trying to please the Mrs. with a new lawn, perennial garden, a 5 day fishing trip to Temagami, Hydro coming on the property to cut a couple of trees down, clearing the mess that Hydro left, cuttin' and splittin' wood and finally getting the boat cleaned and ready for the river... Here's some of the work that was done around here.... The start of the new lawn June14th.... 2 weeks later.... Hydro crew cutting down 2 Oak trees on my property... Now the work for me to cut up the limbs, get rid of the branches and cut/split the wood... Finally some time to prep, clean and get the boat on the water... And now for this morning's 1st outing on the river....I kinda figured it was going to be a good morning after this fella came out of nowhere and landed on my hand 10 minutes later, my baitclicker starts singin' a familiar song ......this 47.5" beautiful clean gal cleared water 3 times before coming to the side of the boat.....1st Muskie of hopefully many this season ..... The release....
  4. My daughter and son-in-law surprised the heck out of me the other day by buying me a Lowrance HDS-5 fishfiner/GPS combo for a combined Father's Day/B'day present Now, I'm wondering what type of Navionics card should I buy????......I mainly fish the Ottawa R, Big Rideau Lakes, Temagami, Nippissing and Quinte.....is there a card that covers these waterways??? Thanks......
  5. Glen....I won't be goin' anywhere if don't get the front lawn finished today and seeded ...I decided to do the same darn thing you did and now I wish I never even mentioned it to the wife!!! ....I better get off this computer and get to work!!....the clocks tickin' away and I hear the fish calling me!!!
  6. What a great report Doug ...I truely enjoyed reading and sharing the trip you guys went on!!....beauty colored specks and awesome scenery Glen, I've been thinking of doing a week long fly-in trip next year. The lake has natural Rainbows, Specks and Lakers...I went up to the lake a few years ago and the trout are abundant and big and the remote setting is awesome!!....I'm always looking for a gang to get out with so if yur interested, keep this in mind and send me a pm bubba!!
  7. Looks like you and your daughter had a nice time together Glen ....My daughter is married now and has her own daughter....to this day, she always talks about the fishing trips with Dad and when ever she comes home from Georgia for a visit, the first thing she wants to do is get out on the river and fish...
  8. Well, I picked the truck up from the shop Wednesday evening and have put 200km on it so far without experiencing the massive vibration problem I previously had prior to taking it in ... All 4 rotors were replaced, new pads front and rear, calipers were free'd-up/serviced and the 2 rear axle seals were replaced... The real test will start early tomorrow morning when I leave for my week long fishing trip at Temagami...it's kind of hard believing that the vibration I experienced was caused by the brake issues, but hey, at least I now have new brakes and tires... Steve
  9. Good report...looks like someone's gonna be busy cleaning fish
  10. Looks like a nice boat Cliff!! ....I'd probably get the 60HP which is the maximum rated for that boat instead of the 50HP... Good luck with the boat hunting!! Steve
  11. Nice eyes, pics and report!!....thanks for sharing!!

  17. Now that's what I call a generous offer Don!!....thanks bud!!....I'm getting the truck back today sometime and I'll take it for a good run tomorrow....the mechanic took it out on the road twice yesterday and could't reproduce the problem, so I told him to go ahead with the brakes and replace the leaking axle seal.... I'm glad to hear that you're finally getting that back problem looked after!! Good luck with the surgery and I've got tons of room in the pontoon boat for you.....Can you say MUSKIE ....the season opens here on the Ottawa R. the day of your surgery, so what a better way to recoup then sitting in a comfy boat trolling a big bucktail around Let me know....
  18. Wow....what a great day out on the water guys!!!.....nice Salmon!!
  19. It's hit and miss regarding getting extra charges!! I've been ordering Muskie Baits from the same distributor in the U.S. for the past couple of years without ever being charged duty, taxes, etc...until a few weeks ago...the only difference this time was that they shipped the baits in a big cardboard box as opposed to the "jiffy" bubble wrap envelopes that they used in the past...maybe the big box flagged customs
  20. Hey Kevin......but why do you both have the same shirt on in those pics with the exact "stuff" all over it in the exact same location???????????????
  21. Nice report...thanks for sharing
  22. Congrats to catching your first Skie!!! ......you're hooked now!!
