  1. What year?....i have 2 on my boat a 250 with 765 hours on it, I have had some issues with it but it gets used and my kicker which is a 15, and it has 2000 hours on it. They are the 2010 year. The new G2 are excellent. I do like the motors.
  2. Well Babs wasn't his coach, Didn't Lamarillo bring him in? He is doing a pretty good job as a GM as he has assembled a pretty good team, To soft though, nobody is afraid to play them as they know they won't have to pay a price. Didn't seem to have any real systems either. Also don't sell me he is a players coach when he sat Modano on what would have been his 1500 game, Poor guy retires with 1499
  3. As Drifter said get the mini, my buddy has the Mavic ( not sure of the model but it was $1200.) The problem is since we fish near an airport there is a 5 minute tutorial he has to go over everytime he fires it up. New regs helped me change my mind, they are fun though.
  4. Sorry....you crossed the line there....
  5. Those large charter boats allready cut a 300 foot swath through the pack.
  6. Same factory doesn't meen same quality.....Ranger makes Triton boats and there is a difference in how they are made.
  7. I fish Erie and will never fish more than 6 rods regardless of how many in the boat. I could see a big mess o lines
  8. Well... I can tell you some do. I bought a one year old Ranger 620 in 2011, had some issues (minor) in 2017 and called Ranger, they told me if i brought it down they would fix the issues as a courtesy. I like to drive so away i went. Took a tour of the factory and said good buy to my boat. Went back 5 months later (April) to get it ( and another tour of the factory) Put new bunks and fenders, new keel guard and did the brakes all FREE. You can't top that
  9. If you want your best bang for the buck buy a used boat....so many boats for sale, I bought my boat used and it still had warranty so i had no worries. There are a ton of good boats out there, the Princecraft,Crestliner and Kingfisher are good choices.
  10. Just buy the Simms, you wont regret it. Only money. I was on a $5000.00 fly in trip to the BC coast ( free trip) and in the dry room one of the other guests was raving about my Simms suit. I figured he could afford one but he kept going on about mine. Are the Simms waders not under warranty? I would shoot them a note before you buy new
  11. Around here in the fall lots of guys carry some environmentally friendly ice melt. Made it to Dec 18 last year.
  12. Sorry, but if it was me i would have said something and then gone to get an usher. You paid good money and have a reasonable expectation of enjoying your game. Anytime this happens to me i say something. I have a low threshold for people that ruin my time as i have so little of it.
  13. Here is the patch for the HDS Gen 2 non touch, its on their website. https://downloads.lowrance.com/software/index.html?r=1887 Try your unit first because both my Gen 2 units worked
  14. Just experiment with it, my videos are pretty lame...no edit and no sound (which is a good thing) camera rolls when we get a fish on...
  15. Try it first...my Gen 2 (non touch) still worked and my G3 worked .
  16. I have 3 on my boat and use them all the time, i take people out and post their catches. Also i have friends around the world that i fished with at one time and it's a way to still fish with them. I do look back on the catches . I could care less what others think about my channel.
  17. Trust me...get the APP with the lifetime membership ( more than $100.00 ) it"s a no brainier, I have had mine for years and get constant updates. If you are a serious fisherman its the way to go
  18. There is a time and place for both...some of my best buddies don't fish so we golf , if you dont think there is a place for golf come and spend a day with me on lake Ontario in 5 footers.
  19. Its been my experience that the better fishing is off shore, trolling the 30 foot and deeper depths are key, Fish the shorelines off Amherst and Wolfe islands. I could do a 2 boat trip no issue. As you know you can safely ( maybe not always comfortably ) fish in a smaller boat. This end of the lake is much windyer than the central part,
  20. I spend hundreds of hours a year out there, the laker fishing is good just about anywhere. The in close fishing for salmon and trout is poor at best...i could count on 2 hands the times i had incedental catches. The guys that catch the trout/salmon are way out, probably beyond the boat capabilities you said you were looking to purchase. As an x Bowmanville fisher it always puzzled me the lack of those fish here. I would be happy to take you laker fishing
  21. Hello Fishermen....one of my sons university classmates is doing a fishing survey, takes 5 min and would help him out..Thanks https://survey.ubishops.ca/index.php/668165?lang=en
  22. I delivered a rod to a "customer" (a mailman from Bowmanville) at the pier at the Ganny one day and he promptly tied on a bag and started to fish, 20 guys and nobody had had a bite for a couple of hours so we were not paying as much attention as we should have. Suddenly we here a noise like a pop can or thermos being dragged on the concrete. ...turns out it was a fish , on his rod, and he's not happy so he's heading back out to lake Ont. Well this guy goes into a sprint as his brand new rod is slowly making its way to the edge of the pier...and he didn't make it. In it went to the howls of 19 other anglers. Once we recovered most of us put on spoons and flatfish to try and snag his line, and low and behold he got it back. ....still puts a smile on my face 40 years later
  23. Brings back good memories. ...i built so many rods back then 1/2 the anglers at the Ganny had my rods. I worked at the sportsman show 1 year and went over to see Lorne from LG ,bought a 9 foot "noodle rod" blank and all the fixins. Went back to the booth and started wrapping, got home at 10pm and put the coating on the guides, it was still tacky in the morning but drove to Port Hope and caught a 16lb bow on it (which was a big bow 45 years ago.) . Showed Lorne the rod that morning and he couldn't beleive i could build it in 1 day. The new guys that build are pretty fancy nowadays, I can't see well enough to build a rod now but it was a great hobby and made a lot of friends ....Jim Lyon
  24. I can't draw a straight line with a ruler.. ..no way am i painting lures. Those people have a chemical imbalance to do that. I shake my head in amazement when i look at what some people are capable of
  25. Any custom painters on here (lures of course ) I have some US painters but somebody on here must paint or know someone
