  1. Drroooooooollllll........
  2. So....you think it's FUNNY when people can't caatch walleye, do you?!?!?!? Sounds like a great little lake you got into there...keep 'em coming!!
  3. Wow...off GBay....I had no idea! Awesome cats...I got the bug after pulling a couple in on the Grand this year...if I knew those were still around up wherever you were, I'd be all over it! How late in the year do they typically go up that way?
  4. Whoa!!! That IS a biggun...sheesh. Kinda looks like he kept it....can't really imagine why, unless he doesn't like repro-mounts. Amazing fish nonetheless!!!
  5. Wow...okay, I'm just say this -- I don't REALLY get jealous of all the chrome you post...and when you do your backlake trips, I feel a bit of a twinge, but this....THIS!! Slice of Heaven and being able to share it with your daughter....WOW! It's a good kind of jealousy though....I do appreciate you sharing
  6. Looks like something Fred Arbogast would have concocted is my initial guess....possibly something from the Heddon corp...
  7. Definitely in there...but yeah you have to work for 'em! My buddy roped a nice one in on Bass Opener a couple years ago...surprised the heck out of us! After that happened, I started asking around, and heard from a lot of locals that yep, they're in there all right! While it can be tough to find weedy areas in the lake, they do seem to produce...especially if there's access to deep water nearby...if you're ever looking for a companion in the boat to try and track these fish down, drop me a line
  8. Awesome report! I've never hit the whities on open water...I guess it's the same vertical presentation as on the ice?
  9. Sa-weeeeet!!! Thanks for posting...those fish aren't gonna catch themselves!
  10. There's one on Angler's Atlas...try this: Angler's Atlas You may have to register to become a member of the site, but it's free and only takes a sec...could be your new favourite website. Here's one little hint for ya -- look for the big shoal in the middle of the lake...good luck!!!
  11. Spanish River, you say? Walleye, you say?? Sounds pretty good!!! Another body of water gets added to "the list" Thanks for sharing! Did those pike get reeled in on the walleye gear, or were you targeting them specifically?
  12. Now THAT's a report!!! Sounds like a great trip...thanks for sharing I love the "new record...only 8 minutes late"
  13. Interesting one. My buddy keeps everything he can possibly justify keeping...on the two or MAYBE three trips he gets out. Per year. I don't have a problem with him gunning for his limit and filling his freezer, because he hardly ever goes out, and he NEVER goes over his limit....in fact rarely gets to his limit. On the other hand, if he was getting out two or three times a month, I would speak up and suggest that maybe he doesn't need to be so gung-ho...not that he could catch that many fish consistently I too have a problem with the guys that will catch their limit faster than they can eat it...just not necessary, and not something that's going to help any of us catch more fish in the future. I think the big question that you hit on is, what can we do to make things better/change? Approaching a boat with full stringers is not likely the way to do it...so what else is there? I think the more we can all show that it's better and more beneficial for future fishing opportunities to be responsible with our catch, be that to our fellow board members, kids, fishing buddies, or anyone we talk fishing with, the better the chance that we can turn the tide.
  14. The champ is down, but not out!!! I remember getting the bone set in my arm, and I know my dad remembers it, 'cause he had to hold on! Not fun at all....way to get through it and post the pics, Ryan 8 weeks seems like a long time, but it will most definitely pass quicker than you think. Hmmm...just thinkin' out loud...you can troll....just have to figure out a way to jam the rod somewhere while you reel...maybe Dad needs to buy some new rod holders
  15. LOL...woulda spelled death by dismemberment for me
  16. Hmmm...depends how far you want to go and if you're looking for rustic or not. Lake Muskoka has decent pike fishing for easy access....but if you go further north, say to Nosbonsing, or the West Arm of Nipissing, you can do quite well, with wilderness camping opportunities. Better yet, head up to Temagami, or hwy. 144 towards Timmins...lots and lots of fishable Pike Territory. don't want to go THAT far north, drive up 69 or 11, and hang a left or right on #520....the pike highway! fish what looks good Just what comes to mind when I read your post....
  17. this link says "excellent" fishing....? click here
  18. You're pretty close to Mary, which will give you access to Spider and Penfold Lakes, by following the creek that heads toward hwy. 11. Perfect set up for the yak, and should be a pile of willing pike back in the creek and smaller lakes. Just my $0.02

    Intro

Welcome aboard, Kyle...lookin' forward to some reports from the "other" 'Bog
  20. SWEEEEETTTT!!!!! That's one nice ride I wonder if it catches other fish besides perch?
  21. WOW....totally worth the read...thanks for pouring the effort into that post....awesome! That will be a hard place to leave...but I'm sure you will find fish and adventure wherever you go
  22. Before this deteriorates into a fight over cod stocks/harp seals/maritimes, let me say that I absolutely LOVE what the Gov Gen did...BIG thumbs up!
  23. North Tea...that's fantastic M or S I appreciate the offer....will definitely fire you a PM here and there...thanks man And thanks for the valuable input, Jay...discussions like this are why I love this board
  24. beautiful info Jay...the itch for specks is getting worse! Walked into one this spring that I've looked at for a long time...was able to work a portion of it from shore, but got no action. Saw a loon patrolling one particular spot, which led me to believe it was nesting, which further led me to believe there's enough fish for it to feed on in there. A reasonable deduction, or not something to base judgement on?
