  1. I can't get either so I am gonna give my review before anyone else..... Great show with a funny host. Very annoying laugh though...I especially like the part where he hooked that one fish and brought it into the boat with just a flip of his rod. All in all well worth watching.
  2. t-minus 59:42 till lockdown...
  3. So that blondes can fish with a magnet..... Let's all wait for Solo to chime in with the correct answer In the meantime, here is what Wikipedia says: The rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) is a species of salmonid native to tributaries of the Pacific Ocean in Asia and North America as well as much of the central, western, eastern, and especially the northern portions of the United States. The ocean going (anadromous) form (including those returning for spawning) are known as steelhead, (Canada and the United States) or ocean trout (Australia). The species has been introduced for food or sport to at least 45 countries, and every continent except Antarctica. In some of these locations, such as Southern Europe, Australia and South America, they have had very serious negative impacts on upland native fish species, either by eating them, outcompeting them, transmitting contagious diseases, or hybridization with closely related species and subspecies that are native to western North America.[1][2] The species was originally named by Johann Julius Walbaum in 1792 based on type specimens from Kamchatka. Richardson named a specimen of this species Salmo gairdneri in 1836, and in 1855, W. P. Gibbons found a population and named it Salmo iridia, later corrected to Salmo irideus, however these names became deprecated once it was determined that Walbaum's type description was conspecific and therefore had precedence (see e.g. Behnke, 1966).[3] More recently, DNA studies showed rainbow trout are genetically closer to Pacific salmon (Onchorhynchus species) than to brown trout (Salmo trutta) or Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar), so the genus was changed. Unlike the species' former name's epithet iridia (Latin: rainbow), the specific epithet mykiss derives from the local Kamchatkan name 'mykizha'; all of Walbaum's species names were based on Kamchatkan local names.
  4. Somehow I don't think an AME would sign off on that....
  5. I do have a cover, it is 20' wide by 40' deep with a roll up door.
  6. It takes a man to be wrong, but it takes a bigger one to admit it.
  7. With the table saw I would suggest looking very hard at the new granite tops, they are very stable.
  8. Memories of '77, eh? That was one heck of a storm too! Stay safe and warm if you can.
  9. Do you still have it?
  10. I did save bringing it over, but I did not have the ability to give it a good check out before pulling the trigger. Bringing it over was very easy, give US 72 hours notice, and show up at Canada customs, pay the duty and go. All in all about a half hour.
  11. Yes you did I was on my way back from my brothers, he was giving me advice on repairing the trailer fenders and ways to shine 'er up.
  12. So?????????? How is it?
  13. Having done just that, what helped me in my choice, was a good gut feel about the seller. Remember the seller is a guy like you, he doesn't want to sell something that is poor or lie to your face about any issues. If you get the feeling that the fellow is less than honest, trust it, and walk away. Just my 2 pennies.
  14. Well, there is the house that we have fixed up, our children, my life insurance.....you get the picture Actually it was a planned purchase out of my inheritance. (I would rather have the man who taught me to love fishing and the family ties that come from it, but....)
  15. I too, am saddened that we will no longer see your radiant smile and impeccable nails holding on to some BAD fish! That combined with your wonderful ability to make one and all feel welcomed will be sorely missed in these parts. Whatever the reasons, I wish you well.
  16. Thanks all for the pic help!
  17. What'd I do wrong????
  18. After a long and detailed search, (I now have a real good understanding of Craigslist ), a bass boat has been found and hooked. This is a long awaited purchase, I researched and looked at countless ads for bass boats and others too, before making the choice to buy this one. I will need to do some work to it, carpet and seats. but the hull is quite sound. As well, there seems to be an issue with the shifting mechanisim, that I feel confident I can fix. (Thanks Boatman!) So here it is in all 17' 10" of wonderful lines.....
  19. HAppy new year all, but one question....is it twenty ten or two thousand ten?
  20. Glen nice suit, great for your next spring or fall trip up here. That video just about had me piss my pants laughing!
  21. When you renew, get the three year. With the HST coming in the price is going up 8%
  22. So Dawg, how'd the secret assignment go???
  23. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/091229/..._police_killing OTTAWA - A male suspect is in custody following the first slaying of an Ottawa police officer in the line of duty since 1983. The officer was stabbed today in the emergency room at the Civic Campus of the Ottawa Hospital at about 4:30 a.m. ET. Paramedics on the scene immediately tried to save the officer, but were unable to. There is no information yet on whether the officer was male or female, nor any details on the officer's age and rank. A visibly shaken police chief Vern White told a news briefing that relatives of the dead officer are still being notified. The last time an Ottawa police officer was slain in the line of duty was in October 1983 when Const. David Utman, 38, was shot at a shopping centre during an altercation.
  24. No steal at all, this is exactly the type of discussion I was hoping for, I am learning a lot!
