What's the cost of having a garage/ shop built? NF
ecmilley replied to chris.brock's topic in General Discussion
Your best to go to your towns building department tell them what u want to do Find oit what your allowed to do and get it in writing. After all that home hardware has several diy garage kits aroind size your looling for material cost 7-8k plus foundation electrical and permits -
Noble effort but after this many years a failed experiment lets find a better use for those funds

With all this talk of stud breakage i dp this for a living and dont see to more than a couple a year usually only from some one previously cross threading, chances are not using the bars right if socket not flush and bar mot perpindicular to rim force starts to bend stud instead loosen nut
-
Got enough tools to not only changena tire on the truck but do the brakes while o am there. Usually have my tool case and 2 sets of impact sockets 20 vt impact gun bottle jack ect. Also carry spare u joints just in case i run outta talent off roading proper torque is essential and only on clean dry rust free studs and nuts any lube acts as a mechanical advantage and will cause overtorqing and possible stud breakage

spent 16 years in the rubber business and what it comes down to is you get what you pay for. as for a AT tire I ran goodyear wrangler silent armours from 2008-2014 put 125k on them still had decent tread life just getting slippery in the rain. I replaced them this year with another set of goodyears going with wrangler adventure with kevalr (silent arour replacement) overall a slight improvement over the silent armour better in rain very quiet, light tire that helps in the fuel mileage department and it works very good in sand mud crossing creeks, ect has a snowflake symbol for snow duty and hope its at least as good as the original silent armour in that respect. agressive AT hard to beat a bfg all terrain or goodyear dura trac unless you want to get into some d c tires nitto or micky t's

you didnt ask for a estimte bad on you. but you also didnt sign the work order dispute it with credit card company, they will need to supply proof of consent to repair. looks like your being doubled billed the way they wrote it i can justify about 200 lab there not 456 though each motor about an hour to change oil and winterize at worst another hour to do rest of boat and livewells and a extra 8 bux in antifreeze

Winterforce ok tire there cheap and decent in snow not so good on ice. The blizzaks are great tires wear quick though. Michelin x ice go anywhere great on ice and snow and the only snow tire with a mileage warranty. Goodyear ultra grip ice and dunlop graspicds series also competent tire yojohama ig series gruppy but wears fast. Make your choice fast popular brands and sizes going fast at this time of year. Also look at rebates traditionally michelin has 100 mail in on x ice this time of year other brands are similar

you may need a trolling plate on 9.9 mine didnt get under 1.3mph with one guy i used to throw out a small drift sock not the best thing for control and turns but it worked. also was a yamaha powered merc if that makes any difference
-
The 8 and 9.9 were the same weight in 2003 113 lbs little porkers. Had the.mercn9.9 4st on a 12 ft sea nyph the sucker would fly do 24 mph but didnt troll slower than 1.3

Suggestions on ATVs capable of snowplowing
ecmilley replied to okumasheffield's topic in General Discussion
All the mainstream brands are pretty good these days some of the brp and polaris has quality issues but also most hp. yamaha tends to be market leader in durability bog thing full duty quad aroind 500cc. Also lopk at dealer support whos close to you. -
Or just read your owners manual

All engines should be fogged 4 strokes just pull plugs and a squirt of oil will do in each cylinder then turn it over a couple turns is all. Thats needed. As for why it simple can anyone guarentee that all the valves are closed nope. Do this all the time and have seen skims of rust on cylinder walls after just a couple weeks

It was only a matter of time I guess,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, TRUCK ME
ecmilley replied to misfish's topic in General Discussion
It will get better once its run in around 2500k. It gets decent mileage regardless which chassis its in, that little 3.6 and 8sp also has more jam then my seirra with a 4.8 v8 and 4 sp almost unfair lol -
If you like it go for it. The gc alright vehicle other than rattles from sunroof and 4WD module issues squeaky doors (rust check spray on roller usually takes care of it) some people luv the mb diesels some dont overall engine ok little electrical things that get to you, my own preferance is stick to gas power the higher cost to obtain a diesel with marginal mileage improvements and larger maintenance costs dont really do it for me unless always towing

Dodge has just as many of not more recalls on the current ds series of trucks. All new vehicles have there share of teething problems when new -
Never put a transducer on a boat same deal. Of course you cpuld use marine grade epoxy to hold them down

One thing jpderose has taught me wear the jacket and attach the tether crap can happen fast north of 60mph

Any shops licensed to legally increase GVWR? sort of NF
ecmilley replied to thegrumpyfisherman's topic in General Discussion
the gvwr will not change regardless read the side of your door placard that is the maximum allowable weight of vehicles gar and trailer what your really asking is to increase tow capability and add a 7 pin harness connector to run electric brakes add a weight distributing hitch since going to lower gars is cost prohibitive put smaller diameter tires on with higher load rating reprogram abs for smaller tires and a super duty trans cooler that should get you through. or just keep the old boat -
tips keep moving and playing with techniques and colours the fish will let you know what they want, keepimg 15 rods on board helps too. lol

Last Sunday Geoff (GBW) and myself decided to to a little fishing, no real plan just launced the boat with assorted bass and eye stiks and went fishing, as it turned out the walleye were on the chew with water temps at 66 in the morning and warming through out the day put a plan in action for walleyes and was quickly rewarded with a couple keepers in 17ft of water workin underwater rockpiles with grubs, put the lowrancestructure scan to good use determining areas to target and was pretty much non stop till 4pm when we were worn out every spot I stopped at that day got us at least 2 fish several massive walleyes made it to boatside before biting us off (and i have there address) great day out on the water good company and 7 nice keeper wallys for dinner. typical fish that day.
