My home phone is connected to a fax machine so they get that nice little tweet tweet tweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet when they call it, my cell has caller ID and voice mail, if I don't know the #... i don't answer! If they leave a message, I delete it whithin the first 2 or 3 words. I just don't get that many calls from those anymore for some reason. -

I don't blame a certain race of people for the decline of any fishery. I blame nets and the governments that let people use them!!! Outlaw all netting in the world and watch the fish populations boom like you've never seen before!!! Give the commercial fishermen and other people that use nets a rod and reel and see how much damage they can do!!!

If you do have insurance coverage for your vehicle out on the ice it will be written into your insurance policy. It may be a good idea to take your policy into your agent and have him highlight the part/parts that say you are covered on the ice so you can read them and see just exactly what is covered. I would guess it is for collision with another vehicle and bodily injury to persons from a collision. I just can't see an insurance company covering the cost of recovery/repairs/replacement for your negligence of driving a vehicle on ice that won't support the weight of your vehicle. It would be too easy to defraud them... don't like your car?... put it thru the ice and get another one.

Show More Skin Limited exposure to sunlight contributes to a deficiency in vitamin D. Posted by Peter at MSN Health on Monday, February 16, 2009 12:22 PM A study published in the January/February issue of the journal Endocrine Practice showed dangerously low vitamin D levels in Arab-American women living in southeast Detroit. Women who wore the hijab—which covers the hair and neck, and sometimes the face, with a veil—had even more severe vitamin D deficiencies. Few Americans wear the hijab, but we are all likely to bundle up in the winter before facing the cold—that is, when we are brave enough to venture out instead of enjoying the warmth and comforts of our home. Even when the weather's more pleasant, most of us are getting less exposure to the sun than we need because, health-conscious as we are, we regularly slather on sunscreen to protect us from skin cancer. Such practices make sense but our bodies need ultraviolet light from the sun to produce vitamin D in the skin; by reducing our exposure to the sun, we risk vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D deficiency can be serious, causing rickets in children and contributing to osteoporosis in adults. It has also been linked to higher risks of diabetes, cancer, and multiple sclerosis. Vitamin D deficiency even increases the risk of an untimely death. "When people live where the weather is colder and they are more covered with clothing, they depend on their diet for their vitamin D," says Dr. Hobbs, M.D., a researcher at Henry Ford Hospital and lead author of the Endocrine Practice study. Unfortunately, few foods are naturally rich in vitamin D and the women in the study drank little fortified milk or orange juice. The study's authors recommend Arab-American women boost their vitamin D levels with a supplement. But for most of us, the easiest way to increase our vitamin D levels is to go outside more often and soak up a few more rays of sun. Taking a short walk a few times a week, sans sunscreen, usually does the trick. A good reason to take vitamins!!! I don't think I have a problem.

Ahhhh! .. but what about this part? Not only is there the cost of recovery, but also the cost of making the vehicle raod worthy again or totaling it out and replacing it!!! Then there's the question of ignorance "What were you doing out on ice that wouldn't support your vehicle?"... " I was tryin' to catch a fish" Sure! We'll cover that!!!

Lew just bought a very nice fiberglass boat!

... not according to the article in the main post! I guess some insurance companies may offer a "rider" for takin your vehicle out on the ice up there, but given the cost of recovering a vehicle thru the ice... I wouldn't think that it would be cheap.

I'm not sure if Tarpon are still in the bay with the cold temps, but that may be an option for you if you're looking for a fight... the big Bull Redfish and Black Drum should still be in close to shore too at this time of year. Another option would be an Amberjack trip... you may have to see a chiropractor when you get back home after tangling with them! There are the trolling trips for King Mackeral, Wahoo, Cobia, Mahi Mahi and the like... but they're mostly a boat ride.

There are ponds, but not as many canals as further south. There are deep sea Party boats, but they aren't quite like the drift boats on the southeastern side. Usually 6 or 8 hr trips, and they usually have a galley on the boat that sells sandwiches, cokes, and beer.At this time of year you may want to look into an inshore (bays) fishing trip, the gulf can be pretty rough this time of year. There's also public piers to fish off of when they aren't torn up from a hurricane. When are you going? Red Snapper season is closed 'til late April in the Gulf, but I believe Grouper and most other reef fish are open.

I would suggest a parboil and then slap it on a very hot grill for no more that 2 min per side, 4 min total! Cooking with animal fat is not good, with bacon fat being the worst!!!
