  1. Awesome, thanks for sharing! Was that one eye a blue eye?? D
  2. We always talk about hot lakes but not usually about lakes where they have gone downhill. I was thinkng of a favourite of mine Head lake near Norland. It used to be an awesome largemouth lake, I got my pb from that lake many years ago. It seemed to start going downhill ( for largies )once the walleyes were introduced. Not sure if it was the extra competion or the extra anglers that started coming but largemouth fishing really trailed off there. Funny part was the smallmouth population skyrocketed and we soon found typical largemouth spots with smallies on them. Smallies under wood on shorlines and shallow weeds. the muskies must have liked this since it always stayed good for them. There they are Kawartha strain and top out in the mid 40 inch range. Wondering if anyone else has a lake that they have seen change over the years. Darren
  3. I usally have 2 dipseys out the sides spooled with 30 pound braid and then a flouro from the dipsey to the worm harmess. Set up as Uncle Buck says with the clicker. 2 downriggers with light action I run 5 feet of bottom with anything you fancey. This is a mid to late season setup as early on your better of with Uncle Bucs set up with boards as the fish are shallower or higher depending where you are fishing. Riggers only come out when the fish drop below 40 feet and # 16 elastic band as a release so you see the sublte hits..
  4. Always I wait for your report Dan in the fall! Beauty fish as always, did you guys get into any big gators or lakers? Darren
  5. Even with them getting Bin Laden, it still doesnt seem enough to be the "pound of flesh " that is needed. At least thats how I think. At least not after watching it over again this week.
  6. Hey Terry I was listening to Howard as welll and thought the same thing. My best friends wife is the night editor for the Wall Street Journal and had just left work. Her office on the adjacent building was destroyed. Tried calling her but all the cell towers were on the roof of the building. She was one of the lucky ones that "just made it out" Darren
  7. Thanks LD17 , ill give that a try toinight. Figured it would be something easy!
  8. So I finally remembered to download my Waypoints out of my lowrance. I downloaded the Lowrance GPS Data Manger utility and have saved them to my computer. The only problem I have now is that in the Waypoint list in it, I cannot copy and paste from it, thus no converting it into a text file. Has anyone out there used this utility? hey Fang..... I am trying, you shouldnt have bought a Humminbird!!!LOL Darren

  10. 4. There is something seriously wrong with marketing a weapon of mass destruction to people who will be buying these for their CHILDREN to wear. And something seriously wrong with parents who will buy them. Now the jersey may be ugly but its not THAT ugly!!
  11. Lund's new list of boats for next year includes the 1775 and 1875 ProV's. I am excited as I will be looking for a new boat in a few years and have always wanted the 18 foot proV but it was discontinued. Unfortunatly they come bundeled with a merc but I am sure a dealer will be more then happy ($ ) to put a Yamaha on it for me. http://www.lundboats.com/boats/2011-aluminum/pro-v-boats D
  12. Awesome fish guys! Love your reports, especially the long toothy ones in winter. may I make a constructive critism?? Less end of the arm photos and more photos of the areas and cover you guys hit these big boys on. Add some photos of yourselves flippin taken froma dock or shore and your reports will be really awesome. D
  13. I was off Port Cobourn yesterday and we got a 9lber and a big grunt in 65 feet of water SE of port Cobourn. I have kinda given up on Maitland as there are too many " should have been here yesterday" stories. 55 feet down on spinner and worm rig, grunt came 220 back on a 3 setting with a purple Nk and worm.
  14. I want to thank everyone that thought about me and Winston! Winston was a therapy dog with St Johns and was considered one of the best one's they ever had. He was with me thru some bad times. i knew the time was coming and he did too. He waited till I came from work ,into the room at the vet, looked at me and passed away. We got a new little buddie this spring and they were in seperable, the old guy and the puppie. His name is Loki You may have seen his dad Munch on the Iam's commercials. He is a pretty awesome awesome puppy thanks to Winston. I got a bunch of pictures with the 3 amigo's just a few days ago cuz I felt the time was near. Scottyswing....your right! Thanks again to everyone, guess I have become one of those crazy dog people. Darren
  15. My best friend left me yesterday, he was always there no matter if the times were good or bad. Ill miss you Winston

  18. Every year it seems a few of our board members seem to land some big and salmon and prizes in the Great Salmon Hunt. Anyone have any luck?? Darren
  19. Spent the morning washing worm harnesses and crankbaits behind dipseys and cannonballs. From 55 to 90 feet off of Port Maitland , by the way Port Maitland sucks! 1 in 3 trips I get bit , nice fish usually 6-10 pounds. I think ill start fishing chrystal beech area more. At least i have success there. Lots of big marks and bait. Wonder if a Lowrance HDS with downscan can tell the difference between grunts and eyes, saw somescreenshots where you could tell they were crappies. I am of track now....Maitland sucks! 0.0 arghhhhhhhhh Darren
  20. I have to agree with you Lew, it does seem like limited progress on diseases after MANY years and billions of dollars. Its Labour day next week and we still have the telethon. Makes you wonder if they are getting anywhere at all? Fish4eyes... I saw a headline last week that after a huge study the liberation treatment was proven to be in effective? I might be thinking of the wrong treatment, thats the artery treatment in the neck? like Chris Rock says.........when was the last time doctors cured something.........................polio damn.........
  21. Not sure I had my kid bidding for me on a few props so she didnt pay attention to much else.
