  1. Here's a sneak peek. It really doesn't do it justice. The detail is absolutely incredible. I wish I had half the talent this fine young Aussie lass designer of ours does!
  2. The 15 pounder on my wall looks great. It, too, absolutely inhaled a Fastrac and was not revivable. It happens. You are in rare company now Carole.
  3. AT least you had the free preview..Cogeco here never did. Still doesn't.
  4. Lots of damaged boats here for our friends down south. Clearly snow was not a consideration when the facilities were constructed...and why would it be? http://di-vo.net/diozarks/
  5. Music? No..embedded music is a total sin in the web designers handbook. Keep things the same? Also a sin. Everyone likes options.
  6. Maybe a tree and some nice Christmas lights. Stay tuned! Was thinking of using the falling snow trick, but that would likely be over the top.
  7. http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/a...ref=wxeyealerts Careful tonite!!
  8. It is one of the problems with the current system. The angler and the CO are left with trying to figure out where the different boundaries are with respect to a few different species. Exceptions are given for most trout species in the stream mouths of many tribs. Do not confuse this with division 8 actually being extended into the mouths...it is not. The best definition I got from anyone in the MNR was that the boundary was the 'natural shoreline'. For the most part this seems easy enough. But when some areas contain fish that have markedly different seasons and limits (like Division 8 vs 3 or 6 for walleye) it becomes troublesome. Now throw a pier or built up area into the mix and one is left wondering where this 'natural shoreline' actually is. The piers of Bronte and Dalhousie and others actually sit in two different divisions depending on where you are standing. One step to the left and fishing is open all year, one to the right and it close Dec 30th. Silliness like this makes the laws difficult to enforce, which is part of the driving force behind reducing the number of divisions and making clear boundaries so everyone can be sure of when and where they can fish.
  9. Hey I know the first launch site! Used it last summer. Saw a guy run full throttle through the tube there. Crazy.
  10. The new spam bots are getting pretty good at getting through. I received a good tip on keeping them out. Apparently if they receive a request in a field box they are not programmed for, they enter random text. I've created a new mandatory field in which anyone who registers now must enter the number 987654321. It tells you to do exactly that...but somehow this baffles the bots. We've had several spam bots lately and apparently the internet is being besieged by them. Hope this can slows the my mom hates me down a bit at least.
  11. Get one that has electric start, self propelled and adjust the scraper bar and you'll be good. Toro is probably the best, but also costs a ton. Canadian Tire and Walmart both essentially carry the same line (MTD). Home Depot is where I got mine. Can't remember all the specs on it, but it is pretty huge. Mine is 13 HP...my elderly neighbour has about the same size and it tosses him around pretty good. Owen Sound gets a ton of snow, so you'll likely want tire chains and drift cutters too. Push the budget up to 1200 and you'll probably get everything you need.
  12. I think the ski doo is a rotax engine isn't it? Nothing like the E-Tec. Anyway..if you can give up the weight, go with a 4 stroke, but if you can't, go with a 2. My boat couldn't afford the weight difference, so I went with a 2 stroke. I would have loved to get an e-Tec, but the 25's weren't available yet. Any brand new 4 stroke and brand new 2 stroke with have similar efficiencies. Two stroke will always have a better whole shot by the nature of their firing twice as often as the 4 stroke. What I really want is for Mazda to make a rotory boat motor. 8,000 RPM's baby.
  13. IF I motor backwards into waves, I get water over the transom. I need wave whackers for sure.
  14. An extreme example of the Lake Erie seiche. Happens quite a bit on that lake. http://www.geo.msu.edu/geo333/seiches.htm
  15. You need the most recent version of JAva on your PC...try googling 'download java'.
  16. Here's what I can say so far. We were contacted by the MNR. They are investigating the images posted on another thread and they asked us for our cooperation as well as the cooperation of a few members. I am glad to say that all members contacted by us have so far agreed to help in any way they can. I won't say who the MNR is contacting on this, but those involved can speak up if they wish. The CO I spoke to is working towards putting together a case against the individuals involved. The MNR is taking this issue very seriously and expressed gratitude that anglers are aware of the need for all of us to help out when we can.
  17. I don't think it is usually worth fixing cell phones. IF your contract is nearly up, they will often give you a new one free to re-up.
  18. Any picture you take in a public place is fine for reproduction on a web site provided the content is not copyrighted. It is only in places where there is expected privacy that you can run afoul of the law.
  19. THats weird cause I know a judge and juror and an executioner who want to be rocket scientists...
  20. Let's just say it is likely the conclusion we were working towards may happen. Not all parties involved have responded yet, so that's all I can say for now.
  21. We see you...and so does the MNR. More to follow soon.
  22. They pay the rent. We see them too. Google ads are our friend. (keep saying that over and over again)
  23. Do you equate speeding with resource infractions? Do you equate speeding with arson or child molestation? To try and justify resource violations with 'well you guys speed so you are the same' is without logic or merit. It is not the same. This is why we set different penalties for different infractions. Trying to justify poaching by saying everyone else speeds in their car is like saying its okay for me to rob someone at gunpoint cause lots of people fudge their tax returns. And yes, if I speed and get a ticket, that's my fault...no one elses. I have sped in my car. I do not poach. Using a fallacious 'tu quoque' argument doesn't diminish the violation of the original pictured persons. It is generally considered a display of capitulation when one resorts to erroneous logic. The MNR visits daily, I can assure you. Yes, notifications were sent to a few different people as well.
  24. Dave Mercer has his boat for sale on Walleye Central and seems to me like a monster of a deal.
