https://www.kijiji.ca/b-ontario/clam-shelters/k0l9004 Saw this message on the Sail site, " CLAM COMING SOON The products in this category are not yet available online, but we have them in store! Come browse our wide selection in one of our stores. " LOL, I am guessing most places in my area are closed also since we seem to be surrounded by level 2 and 3 snow emergencies.

https://www.anglersatlas.com/place/102347/mississippi-lake Justin, there appears to be a couple of parks on the north end of the lake - river, both might have shoreline access? Here in Ohio that would be one of our bigger inland lakes, take a look on youtube, there are more videos of people fishing there. Not having a boat can limit you badly, but you can probably still catch fish and maybe you can hook up with some one fishing there with a boat that might not rather fish alone? LOL, if it was 2 minutes from my home and I could still fish I would be there!

LOL, that's a lot of fish sandwiches!

Is this line strong enough for fishing a Jig

Justin, I follow tactical bassin, those guys are good, but keep in mind that money doesn't seem to be much of an issue for them, and bass the size that they stand to catch on a daily basis are few and very far between here. The last 10# bass I remember hearing about in my area was like 40 years ago, and some lady caught it in a pay to fish place pond. -
One of the first books I remember reading as a kid, a story about a wolverine, a good read! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3860913-carcajou-the-wolverine

I was surprised as heck when one of my daughters showed me a picture of one in her backyard at her former home in Rhode Island, it was a place I would never have thought would have them.

If I only had 1? like yours? old school here, 14 pound test Stren original. It may not be a perfect choice for some people, but it is enough to handle most circumstances. I usually went with 10# on a spinning reel unless I was using it in wide open waters like Lake Erie where weeds and wood weren't an issue, then I would have one spooled with 8#, even had one spooled with 8# berkley vanish for clear water, but really didn't notice a difference in the amount of bites. Some of this stuff can leave you guessing, no hits? no fish? or do they just want something other than what you are throwing? LOL. and even KVD has bad days? -
An aggressive black bear video , this hunter was lucky

I still remember our first trip to Pointe Au Baril back in the 60's and the camp owner taking me and my brothers and cousins for a look at his pictures, 4-5 bears around the town dump, and him telling us to be very careful where we wander. That would certainly loosen your bowels? -

Justin, I will certainly agree with David on that, if you are young, new to fishing, whatever, it can be an information overload, and everyone has their own opinions on what is best. -
A nice job making that!

Justin, this reel? http://www.abugarcia.com/abugarcia-reels-baitcast-reels-low-profile/abu-garcia-black-max-low-profile/1373565.html " Braid Capacity yd/lb 140/30 " That is basically telling you how much line the reel will hold based on the average line diameter, if you put heavier line, larger diameter on it, it will hold less line. I don't have much actual experience with braided line, but I understand it can slip on the reel spool so most people use mono backing or tape first on the spool to prevent that. The last couple of reels I spooled up, almost 15 years ago, were a couple of Abu C-4's with Power Pro braid 65# test, which had roughly the same diameter as 17# test Stren mono. Those reel would hold a lot of braid and I couldn't picture needing more than about 80 yards of 65# test braid, so I put enough 17# test mono on the reel first so 80 yards of braid would fill the spool. -
We used spreaders here too John, the ones I have seen though were some variation of this though. https://www.stopperlures.com/scott_spreaders.html A common perch and crappie rig here, never seen one like that. Some of the ones that were sold here had a swivel snap that had a hole drilled in the middle of it and it was threaded on the wire thru it so you could attach a weight to it to get down deep faster.

No idea, but a strange looking rig, it's use would be?

I guess we get small ones in my area too Lew, I have never felt one though in the past, and now I couldn't tell from my normal shaking. LOL

Justin, I am a geezer and for most of my life my fishing line was original Stren mono, no the stretch wasn't an issue, and actually it may help in case you get carried away with a hookset, it acts like a shock absorb-er. Our water isn't quite as clear in most lakes here as compared to Canadian lakes, but I also saw no need for straight floro unless it was a really tough bite, and even then I can't say it helped. A fish probably isn't real smart, you need floro but can catch them on an a rig with wires and swivels and stuff all over it? If you are fishing for big fish, like muskies and big pike? I can see a purpose for braid, it's nice to have 65-80 pound test line that doesn't feel like anchor rope? People were using mono and catching fish on it for a long time, but now marketing has brought us newer, more expensive options? -

I threw a lot of jigs using 17-20 lb test mono and never had a problem with them breaking off, even thru them on lighter line. If you are in one of our southern states where there are bass that exceed 6 pounds on a regular basis lighter line is more of an issue. Also cover, around wood. like docks, fallen trees light line can be a problem, it's nice to be able to exert enough force on them to help prevent them from getting into deeper cover once hooked. -
I have never fished on the ice, but I made one years ago out of a plastic mustard container with a screw on lid. It was a bigger item though, like 1/2 gallon? I put a small screw eye with a couple of fender washers and a nut holding the eye to the lid and a 3-4 ounce lead weight bolted to the bottom and drilled 1/4 inch holes in the container. The plan was to attach a piece of parachute cord to the eye and drag it along the bottom on a drift an create a chum line, or tie it to a tree or dock and have it as a fish attract-er.

I know next to nothing about Quinte, is there a river there that has a walleye spawning run? After following the Lake Erie fall brawl thing here it seemed like some of those big fish may have been moving closer to spawning grounds, just not a place you could expect to have a reasonable chance to catch them after early spring. This article is from my area, but I would imagine that the lures he mentions might not be a bad choice anywhere? https://www.cleveland.com/outdoors/2019/01/fishing-report-for-friday-jan-4-lake-erie-streams-clearing-after-new-years-eve-winds-wet-weather.html?fbclid=IwAR3RUV26lGu9AoCeQdgIM4EZ0Cl5Nypm38mk2P_oIMIDO2xQJEXEAQW0S5k

Pork, just guessing that long point is at least 100 miles east of the areas I used to fish, deep water so more common?
