  5. Hey Mike, one of my favorite places too. You better hope things warm up soon, still making ice up here, had to make an extension for the auger a couple of weeks ago....40+" of ice and 2-3 feet of snow insulating it.
  6. Manitouwadge 6-8" ice on smaller lakes, no snow and making GREAT ice every night...-15 to -20 the last few nights!!!
  7. Up here in Manitouwadge....we got a solid 6-8" ice on most lakes, but we lost all our snow....making GREAT ice though....been -15 to -20 the last few nights. Kinds sucks though Simon, I'm in the exact same position as you.....picked up my 2013 Skidoo Expedition Sport 600 Ace on Friday and had to drive it across bare spots to get it into the backyard :wallbash: Jason
  8. Sorry, no pictures yet, but I'm picking up my 2013 Skidoo Expedition Sport Ace 600 on Friday!!! Certainly going to be a step up from the 1994 Artic Cat Jag 440.
  9. Just buy it.....was one the the best purchases ever!!!
  10. A white tube jig in 52ft of water. I actually watched the fish hammer the jig on my lowrance, it made 4 runs back down to the bottom before we cradled him.
  11. Haven't posted in a while, so I thought I'd throw together a short report. Fished a lake near Manitouwadge last week and caught a few nice big fish. There was so much wildlife in and around the lake. So just how big is this laker? Never had a chance to weigh or measure, it was quite the ordeal getting him to the boat!!! Jason
  12. I can't wait to sludge our way through 12km of wilderness terrain for some massive brookies, I'll be there waiting for you!!! lol Going to be an awesome trip. Jason
  13. Looks like a nice trip with some beautiful fish...congrats Jason
  14. Snowblower...haha.... I put that in the FAR back of the garage weeks ago!!!duh And the shovel is in the garage as well. It's just crazy....It was 13'C at 4 P.M. yesterday afternoon, raked the lawn, put some patio slabs down....5 hours later it turned cold quick and hasn't stopped snowing yet!!! Worst comes to worst I'll break a trail for the wife with the snowmobile to get to work in the morning Jason
  15. Manitouwadge, ON And it's still snowing!!! Think I'm going to go for a ride on the snowmobile tommorrow
  16. It's -11'C with a windchill of -21'C and it started snowing/blowing last night around 9 P.M. and its still snowing!!! Some places the ground is bare and some places over 3 feet where it has drifted and I REFUSE to shovel anymore....it will eventually melt...hopefully Jason
  17. It's up to 149.9 up here in Manitouwadge...crazy. I try to visit the nearest Indian reserve where it's only 133.9 without my discount. Filled up 124/L for $167.00....ouch, but saved nearly $45-50 by going to the reserve. Going to be using the canoe or 14ft/9.9HP a lot more this year, instead of the bass boat. The ice finally left the lake here in town on Sunday Jason
  18. Just got back in from a nearby lake...8" of snow on the lake still...over 30" of good black ice, probably 3-4 feet of snow on the trail!!! Going to be ice fishing for a while yet Jason
  19. Threw the towel in and moved north out of the rat race, bought a house for $50,000 completely renovated within the last 5 years!!! With a 2003 Polaris 500 sportmans in the deal and new 11HP snowblower. Only MAJOR problem is that our moving company rolled the truck and were charged by the OPP, lost 50% of our belongings....my 33lb Swift Carbon/Kevlar canoe is destroyed. Insurance will cover our belongings!!!! Can you say BOXING DAY SHOPPING. Jason
  20. ALL the lakes are frozen up here in Manitouwadge.....anywhere from 12-14" of good ice and about 2 feet of snow!!!
  21. That's awesome Mike. Your going to have some serious competition in a few years!!!lol. We got hammered with snow here the last 2 days and the lakes are frozen!!!
  22. I actually own a pair of those gloves. You can purchase them ($350.00) in Alderville, Ontario on the reserve. They are AMAZINGLY WARM... My wife purchased them for me last christmas....if I could find a jacket/pants/boots I wouldn't hesitake
