I should be on the ice at this moment, but unforeseen circumstances keep me at home. First of all it is little bit cold outside, but this I can handle, what is worst I have cold myself. Since Saturday morning I’ve tried to cure myself with my “home made medicine” , and it looks that it works. Today I feel much, much better. I still won’t go ice fishing, but I do not see any reason to waste such a beautiful day. In the dark corners of my fishing treasure chest I’ve found some lure making supplies and decided to do something about this. WARNING: THIS is my first attempt (I already know what I did wrong), so you can Look at it, admire it , copy it if you want, but only constructive criticism will be accepted

This is a twist !!! It's happened to me sometimes ago, with the only diifference that I was not fired, I've quit. It took almost three month to find another job ( if you want deliver pizza -you can start tommorrow) . Half year later the company I was previously working for went out of bussiness (the reason was quality and quantity . Half year later I've got work application on my desk.Surprise, surprise,my old boss looking for work I did not hire him not because I did not like him , but because he had no idea what to do in this particular kind of bussiness. Not enough yet? . Well approx. 4 months later my current company was looking for for new employees. Secretary booked few jobs interviw for a day and the first person was a "reason" why I've quit my previous job As soon as he's seen me , he just left ( I've had half Hr to browse OFC forum ) Did I feel any kind of satisfaction? No I did not !!!!!! So Big Cliff, do not allow anybody to "short change you". You know your value and STICK WITH IT and you won't loose Maybe, and I Mean "MAYBE" I'll have an offer for you to enjoy what you did before

Thanks for the heads-up. I did not see this before. You save me a trip to Patent Office . I will go fishing instead. I've spent some time to find the contact at MNR office in Peterborough, could not find any. Do any of you knows an e-mail addres ( preferably-I need this on paper ) or phone #, so I can ask my qoestions.

I will have to postpone "field" test little bit because of the valid concern send to my attention by OFC member. The simple question is: Is it legal? I'm not setting the hook by hand (tip-up), or by rod (Jigging). The fish itself triggers the release and the hook set. When I was thinking about it, trapper come to my mind (animal triggers the trap), but then maybe I just comparing apples to oranges. Anyway I will be sending e-mail to MNR shortly with this question. In mean time what do you think?

Well, this is not a joke. I've already "dry" tested this device and it works. I've seen something similar couple years ago, so it is not entirely my idea, but I did few improvements. From now on I will call it LHS (lightning hook set) Imagine you sitting in comfy chair or a hut, having lunch ( both hands not available ), ice rod in rod holder and you see the strike. In time you put your lunch aside the fish is gone ( more likely with your minnow too ). To aviod this you need to make the fish to hook itself and let you finish your lunch, or whatever you do at that time So time to present the LHS With UL setup Put the rod in rod holder, bend it and slide under release pin. Wrap the line around trigger pin, lower you lure to the desired deph and enjoy your lunch. When fish strikes tension of the line move the rod from and pin, releasing the energy of the bent rod setting the hook in split second. Release mechanism Both rod holder and release mechanism are not glued and can be turned in any direction. By changing their position I can accomodate rods of different length and sensitivity. Also trigger and release pin can be turned around to help achieve most sensitive set-up. Going little bit further ( for anglers who likes to take a nap ) this is deluxe version The bell will wake you up on hook set And after day of fishing you can fold it for easy transport and storage Hopefully I will test LHS on ice tomorrow. Wish me luck P.S If everything goes well I will visit Patent Office on Monday

For last half an hour I've tried to find the way to contact GM and ask 1 simple question: Why fuel tank for my car costs 1300.00 $. Maybe I've missed something but I could not find any way to ask this question over internet. If somebody can give me a clue it will be great. In mean time, if I won't be able to find this info today, I will visit GM HQ tomorrow ( I live in Oshawa ) I will keep you posted

O.K. I'm back. It looks that I will be driving my Pontiac little bit longer ( just wander what next ). My fuel tank is splitting in half and has to be replaced. It will be ready about 2:00 PM. Total cost 320.00 parts and labour + tax. Bare in mind that this shop was suggested by GM dealer service advisor I would like to hear from GM justification for the price of fuel tank ( 1300.00 $ ). Well I'm "grounded" anyway ( no car) so I will make few phone calls to GM headquarters. I will keep you posted

I have Pontiac Grand AM (96, V6, 3.1L). It has developed small leak in fuel tank. The only reason why I still keep it is that an engine and transmission work like new (200000+ K) Almost everything else (not related to safety) is broken. Why I do not try to fix it? This is the reason. Power window on passenger side (est. 370.00 parts + 200.00 labour + tax) not in my life time -now is always closed ( BTW on driver side it's started acting the same way - just the matter of time) A/C clutch ( est. whole compressor 700.00, clutch only 600.00 , + 250.00 labour + tax) bought clutch from scrap yard for 30.00 Windshield wiper switch (est 260.00 parts +180.00 labour + tax), not fixed, but only I know how to turn it off Daytime running lights module (est 310.00 parts + 150 labour + tax) One fog light (est 130.00 parts + 120.00 labour + tax) Last month I've put new tires and exhaust (approx 1000.00). All estimates are from the dealer the car was purchased from. Now going back to fuel tank, first thing in the morning I've went to a dealer to have some idea how much it can be They make my day, all other customer were looked at me like at an idiot ( I could not stop laughing) The estimate for new GM fuel tank was 1300.00 part (the dot is in right spot - checked it twice) + 220.00 labour + tax) The guy in parts department was laughing with me, and he's suggested two places where my problem can be solved for more reasonable price I'm not surprised that GM is in deeeeep : , looks like will go only deeper. I'm leaving in few minute to find out what is the future of my Pontiac Possibility exist that the las trip will be to scrap yard ( I hope that they will pay me enough for taxi to Hundai or KIA dealer GM won't get one more cent from me

Thank TJ and CO for this board I agree 100% with everybody here and would like to add my 0.02$. I've joined this board about 3.5 years ago. After short time I've realized that it is not just fishing board, but something more. No question is unanswered. We are sharing laughs, sadness and tears sometimes. After being a member for sometime I’ve set-up my own rules for this board. 1. Being a member here is a privilege and it is not mandatory 2. My code of ethics is not necessarily everybody’s code of ethics 3. If you can help –DO IT, if not -SHUT UP there is at least 10 others who knows more about the subject 4. Respect other opinion if you want yours to be respected And for the “fishing part” 1. Respect the law and follow the rules 2. AND FOR GOD SAKE POST REPORTS AND PICTURES !!!!!!!!!

Roger works too far from cash registers , but in his area you will have the best help you can get

Downsizing I've noticed that new board is little bit slower so I've decided to cut one character from my handle to improve it

Since I remember I've never tried to "waste" 1 minute shopping on Boxing Day and hopefully I will never do. I just prefer to spend this day with my wife and kids, but definitely not in the shopping mall
-
Everything ready, just couple rods without the reels (I thing it is enough time to switch them from UL summer setups )
-
It was a pleasure to chat with you Roger. As always I've "wasted" few bucks at your workplace

I have only one boat, old and new at the same time OLD NEW BTW this is the same boat . The difference is "few bucks" and two weeks worth of elbow grease
