  1. "Fancy" is one thing , but look at the size of it :o
  2. Thanks for the link. Great video
  3. FYI, I was driving home today and noticed this new addition. It is on Taunton Road E just west of Wilson Rd N. Had only few sec to look at it, but they have few Legends, some big fiberlass boats and other tin cans. Big Mercury sign on front. Three service bays (former car garage ??? ). Later today I will take a closer look.
  4. Getting there: From Calgary's downtown Trans Canada Highway Couple more scenery shots Maligne Lake, the jewel of Canadian Rockies, still frozen so we have to go again for a boat tour Another frozen lake with few avalanches in the background Athabasca glacier area. The snow cap ( center of the picture ) can deposit it's water to Atlantic, Pacific or Arctic ocean . Wildlife crossing. Yup, it is exactly what I've said. About 30m long, looks like a bridge, designed for safe passage for animals over the highway ( quite few of them in Banff NP ) Another look from one of the hiking trails in Canmore area Glad I could share my experience with you. Hope you've enjoyed the picures. Bottom line is : If you have a chance, go there!!!!!, being there is sooooooooo much better then seeing it on the monitor screen
  5. There is a way for revenge . Nine years ago I've moved to other house ( about three kilometers apart). I was charged by Bell close to 300.00$ moving fee ( same area, even same phone #). On my first call to complain I was told that this is "standard " charge and they cannot do anything about it. Finally I've said O.K.. I've cancelled everything with Bell apart from basic service. Since then , on average I have a call from Bell every three months to go back to their long distance and other options services. My answer is : No problem, but first bell has to send me a check for 300.00$. It is 9 yers now and Bell is behind about 3000.00 - 4000.00 for long distance charges, but because they won't blink, I won't blonk either. I do not want to describe the conversations with Bell reps, but I tell you it was fun
  6. Went to my favoured lake for some pikeing. Because I've missed two weekends of fishing ( Jasper & Banff trip ) I was very pumped to wet the line. The weather was killing me ( by 10 am was 28ºC, no wind, no single cloud), I've felt like floating on the frying pan . Since my last trip to this lake, what a change, lots of weeds and very clear water (opposite to my last trip). Visited my "go to" spots but not even a sniff. Went to other productive spots ( usually later in the season) and I was chased by a LMBs guarding nests. I'm not small, but 5-6 lb can be "intimidating" , I've left in a hurry. It was so hot and humid that I've decided to finish my day early . On the way to boat launch (on trolling motor, to delay the skunk as much as possible ) I was dragging a white spinner bait just for the sake of it . Then I have a hit, after short fight I've landed 28' pike. Got my camera ready, pulled pike from the water and . .... my camera has no mem card ( still in the reader, after uploading pictures from my trip ). Well, I will take a picture next time. My favoured lake did not disappointed me again (I was never skunked there)
  7. I agree with you 100% that it is the best idea, but if you do not have any other means to get back in to your boat in the middle of the lake, anything can be helpfull. BTW, I 've already tested it in 3' of water and it can be done.
  8. I have it on 14' with 9.9 hp merc I did not expect much from this piece of plastic , but I was pleasantly surprised. The boat was more stable, bow little bit lower, and I crack my top speed record by 10%, Don’t laugh ; it went from 25 km/hr to 27.5 km/hr. Also it comes to my mind that this can be used as a step if you decide to board the boat in "unconventional" way.
  9. Another one (not mine ) Red cedar planks. Loblaws use to sell them (sea food section) but I'm not sure if they still do, a friend gave me about a dozen of them last year, those were the last two. Soak the cedar planks in water for a few hours prior to using them. Sprinkle with coarse pickling or sea salt place the fish on them. Cream about 1/2 a cup of butter, add two small challots finely chopped, two cloves of garlic crushed (or finely chopped), and two tablespoons of finely chopped parsley. Let this sit at rom temp. for about an hour. Baste the fish with the butter mixture, add some thinly sliced red onion, top with thin slices of lemon, cook on medium until the fish just flakes nicely (do not over cook).
  10. I do. just waiting for e-mail from my son. I will post few more on Sunday or Monday. Glad you enjoy it, but belive me it is muuuuuuuch better to be there when look at it on the screen.
  11. Good luck Lew
  12. Yup, it still works
  13. One more thing. To achieve desired performance faster I like to use ethanol instead of isopropanol. Any leftovers won't be wasted. Looks loke you were skipping school to much, it was in 4th grade
  14. Yup, it is basic process, with time and some modyfications you can make it even better. But you have to hurry, Muskie opener is only 48+ hrs away.
  15. You are right. Last week in Alberta price was 1.23 - 1.29. back in Ont is 1.05 +/- 0.03
  16. Getting there. It was difficult to keep an eyes on the road Patricia Lake , view from the cabin and in the snowstorm Patricia Lake ( about 5 km NE of Jasper ) . This lake has interesting history. In 1943 W. Churchill had an idea of building huge icefields, so they can be used as an airfields in the North Atlantic to better protect convoys going to Europe. They've built the prototype in 1:50 scale. It was tested successfully on Lake Patricia, but the main project was abandoned due to very high cost of keeping it frozen for a long time. Some remains of the prototype still can be found on the bottom of the lake. I'm trying to "stop" Athabasca glacier More wildlife "Fresh" avalanche
  17. Well, I’m back ( ready to go again anytime). I’ve spent eight days in one of the most beautiful places on the earth ( Canadian Rockies – Banff and Jasper NP ). At this time of year there are not too many tourists in that area so the experience was even better. Most of the time when we’re driving the highway was empty. Most difficult thing for me to post this report was the fact that between five of us (me, wife and three kids ) we had three Digital cameras and in total I had to chose from about 700+ pictures, so I’ve decided to post only something what was out of ordinary. Here how it went. We’ve left Toronto on Saturday ( May 19), 4 hrs flight was uneventful, in Calgary we’ve pick-up rented car and decided to spend one night in downtown hotel. Next morning I woke up early ( - 2 hrs time zone ) to find the place for a breakfast. Not a chance, not in downtown, but in my 1hr “search” I’ve seen probably 100 panhandlers. When I’ve asked at the hotel what is going on they told that they are not the lucky ones ( no job on “oil sands “ and no money to go back). Very sad picture. After breakfast on outskirts of Calgary finally we’ve left the town and set the course for mountains. It was a pleasure to drive ( Rockies in a full view getting closer and closer). Our next stop is Banff. After booking to the resort we’ve went to downtown for some shopping ( wife and two daughters ). Another disappointment. The main street in Banff is turned up side down (they are changing major “plumbing”), traffic is crazy, no place to park, but at the end we did managed to follow our plans. Fairmount hotel in Banff View from the bedroom After two days in Banff we are on the road again, to Jasper. The 270 km drive took us 8 hrs, because of the scenery. Every few kilometres we’ve stopped to take some pictures. You do not see an avalanche every day. We were down there five minutes before Columbia icefield ( Athabasca glacier ) To give you an idea how big it is, look closely, there are three vehicles on the ice, and they have 5' high tires On our way we’ve stopped at Lake Louise, still frozen with magnificent Victoria glacier in the background. Now Jasper, small town (around 4600). One of our plans was to take a boat tour on Maligne Lake (the famous post card with Spirit Island), but the lake is still frozen. On our way back to Jasper the fierce snowstorm hit us for about half an hour. The speed limit was 50km/h; I was driving closer to 25km/hr. We have passed so called “Medicine Lake”. The story is that this lake (it’s behaviour) created lots of fear in natives Indians. Reason being is the fact that this lake has biggest underground (underground river) drainage in North America, so it’s water level changes by about 20 meters during the year (now it is full, now it is empty). One day snow storm, next day swimming in outdoor pool. Hot springs NE of Jasper water temperature 40 º C (it has to be cooled down from 54 º C) to survive. Then, after three days in Jasper we went back south to Canmore (nobody knows Mike LOL) for two days. This a view of a Canmore from one of the hiking trails. One of the glaciers fed lakes. The tree is floating on surface, the shadow on the bottom in 2 m+ of water Little bit of wildlife Side of the road In front of the bedroom window And one day this, I was late about 1 min to take a better picture. This is a Grizzly Bear. The pictures are only from my digi. Waiting for some interesting from my kids. I will post it later
  18. Well, I'm packed and ready . Leaving tomorrow morning for the trip to Banff & Jasper NP for eight days. I will miss two fishing weekends, but I think the experience will compensate for this I'm sure I will have "few" pictures to share.
  19. If I may add, check if if you have a bolts at all ( you know, duct tape is pretty strong and cheap), just to compensate for your bill. With your "experience" with this company I would not to tow even garbage can without checking the hitch by a pro.
  20. You should feel happy, you are going fishing shortly :clapping:
  21. here there is an elephant ( sort off )
  22. Regardless of the outcome you did........ :thumbsup_anim: ,then :clapping: , and then :worthy:
  23. The elephant is laying too, and looking and you, Just something bad happened to his ears
  24. Well, it is not a face, but with little bit of imagination you can see the Lion and what about this elephant
