Again like almost every weekend I went with friend to our favored lake On water at 7:00 am, just in time to enjoy this beautifull sunrise The bait was on very early. We’ve managed to land five pikes of this average size. Now few words about live entertainment My friend hooked pike of decent size 28-30” and all hell broke loose, three or four jumps from the water, then in to the weeds. After couple min it surfaced about 8’ from the boat. I put landing net in the water to scoop him, but the pike got different idea . Decided to charge the boat, hit it almost in the middle and …….. unhooked itself. About half hr later my friend casted spoon. Water was like gin clear. We see pike of decent size following the spoon ( about 1” behind). 2’ from the boat went back in to the weeds. I’ve tossed xrap in this direction and the scenario repeats itself. In mean time my friend put spinnerbite on the line and everything repeats itself again. No commitment at all ,total lack of confidence, plainly stupid (I’m talking about pike ) . On the other hand I’m thinking that this fish in this particular lake to grow to this size (about 30”), must be pretty smart ( not like the next case ). We are going to play this game next weekend again. Again about half hr later my friend hooked perfect fish fry contestant ( about 25”). I’ve put it in the net. Pike was lying on the side, with pliers I’ve removed the treble and was ready to put it in the basket when I’ve noticed something strange. My friend was casting same spoon again and the pike has another spoon dangling from the mouth on the other side of the head (somebody lost this piece of hardware). Point were embedded the way it could open the mouth for about an inch and still managed to grab another spoon. This kind of desperation deserve another chance. We’ve released it to gain some weight ( I do not know how long this pike was on a diet). Bottom line, another good day on the water

Note to myself ( I'm not Musky fisherman): If you suspect that somebody is fishing for Musky - STAY AWAY at least 500', or you will be considered ignorant, moron or idiot.
-
Pretty simple , but did you try to explain this to an ant
-
I'm not 100% positive, but I think Chuck Norris had something to do with it

Saturday morning was cold, windy, and rainy sometimes, but after two weekends missed due to unforeseen circumstances, it did not matter . Went with friend to my favored lake. At six am was still dark and pretty windy so we put boat adrift and started casting . By 7 am we’ve landed 3 pikes. Action slowed down little bit, so we’ve moved to the other part of the lake. More pikes and some bass. Then I’ve had my best hour ever . It started with 27” pike, then chunky walleye, then my biggest to date LM bass ( 4.5 lb). On the end I’ve lost something BIG in the weeds under the boat. When I’ve pulled out J11 rapala from the water, two points of the back treble were almost straight. On the end we’ve landed 10 pikes ( lost four), five LM, walleye and this mystery brute I did not have a chance to see. Few pics

I’m almost back on line after major HD failure , but I’m getting there. It looks that for me problems happen in doubles. First the car. Went for emission test to learn that my Buick Regal needs new engine (blue smoke symptom). For 12 years old car with 250 k this was not an option. Time to get something newer. It took couple days to find what I’ve wanted and here it is: Then computer problem, still working on it. On a positive note we have new member of the family. Finally after missing two fishing weekends everything went back to normal Weekend report shortly.

I would like to suggest a visit to the doctor. In regards to your boss , he does not care about you, why you should care about him? .

Like every weekend I went to my favoured lake. Boat launch was almost empty. It was cold. Around 9:00 am wind picked up little bit and my tin can started jumping like a red/white bobber. I’ve tried everything what has produced for me before, but no hits, not even a sniff, nada,. The wind was sometimes brutal, I think it was the first time I’ve noticed white caps on this lake. Does it look like cold front for you? After trying my “go to” lures without any success I’ve decided to try X – rap. After few casts wind blow it in to my jacket (on the side, elbow level). The gust was so strong that two pints of the rear treble went past the barb in to a fabric. Not a problem. I grabbed pliers and try to pull it out, but the fabric is strong and treble even stronger. I grabbed the body of the X-rap to keep the other treble in the distance and decided to use little bit more force ( something has to give). Quick pull and OUCHHHHHHH, what the hell is this pain. When I took a look, it was not pleasant. I was able to free one point of the back treble from the fabric and at the same time one of the point of front treble was embedded in my finger waaaaay past the barb to the bottom of “U” bend. The tip was visible about ¼ “ to the side. Now please do not ask for the picture, I was not in the mood. Wind has picked up again, waves are rolling and I’m sitting in the boat thinking how it looks from a distance. After few second I see the picture of a guy in the boat trying to deliver under his arm invisible piglet to a BBQ party. Pulled bolt cutters to free my arm, then cut the treble so only one point left ( in my finger BTW ). I know that next step going to be painful. Looking for something to put in my mouth between my teethes, paddle looks good . First I’ve pushed the hook forward past the barb ( nice impression on the paddle ), then pulled out the hook from the other side ( second very good impression on the paddle). I’m thinking that I will give this paddle to my dentist, the impression will be ready in case I will need some remodelling in the future . O.K. lets go back to fishing. In anticipation of the skunk, I’ve opened my tackle box again. Desperate situation require desperate measures. I have few spoons for salmon, but I’ve never used them. One ( the ugliest) with silver side and the other???? I will spare you description ( I could not go past censorship and I do not want you to give up on your dinner) First cast hit – 25 “ pike , third cast another about 23” ( no pictures, my finger was still bleeding like a ……. whatever you ca imagine. Couple minutes later again, but this is not pike, at this moment I had to pull the camera and here it is I’ve noticed that skunk was running away very fast . I all took about 7 min to catch this fish and then everything went back to normal ( no hit, no sniff, nada) At 12:30 I have decided I had enough attraction for today. Until next weekend

I do not know what's happened, but today everything is back to normal Rick, I think it is your "fault" :clapping: -
I would like to suggest Canal lake. I wish this lake exclusively this season ( every weekend ). I mostly targed pike, but bass and walleye likes my offering to . Search my reports for the samples of the catch. If you decide to go there, I will be glad to share few "secrets" with you

about three hrs on the main roads, then I even do not remember No, they were not ( it was "just only fish" in one case , and "you got insurance" in the other )

Well, it took me one more week to post about my second part of vacation, but finally here it is. After first week on the shore of Baptiste lake we went home for one day to " recover" . Then next day I've hooked up our tent trailer and drive back to the same area ( about 50 km apart ). We've set the camp on the shores of Lake Kamaniskeg. After lazy couple days in grocery store we've met our old friend. He was at his cottage and invited us to join him. So next day we are on the way. After about 30 km on the back roads (sometimes asfalt, mostly gravel ) we've arrived at the gate. He is waiting for us. From the gate there is another few km through the woods I've almost hit a tree after seeing this At the end ( about 30 min drive),we've arrived at what I call Heaven ( no pictures - I will explain leter ) There is beautiful log cottage on the rock, overlooking small private lake My daughter waiting for the big one No electricity ( solar panels on the roof), no phone. And this small lake It was stocked with trout, bass and walleyes. Inside the cottage there are some pictures of some bigger catch (two 35" rainbows, 30" walleye, 8 LB 6oz bass, ) All caught from one of this canoes The deepest hole is 120', and the ice fishing is unbelivable . I'm "Booked" already . We've spend three afternoons/evenings at this place and I'm getting ready for fall and winter trips. I've lots of pictures of this place, but I've decide not to post them for two reasons: First of all I do not have permission ( I did not ask ) from the owner, secondly this place was "raped" twice in last few years. First poachers with gill nets cleaned this lake of every fish bigger then 12", then there was a brake in, almost every piece of funiture, glass, all contents were destroyed ( even couple of frying pans were found in the lake). It is sad, because I would like to share with you my experience, but at the same time I do not want to provide any info in regard to the location of this place. Like I've said, for me it is HEAVEN

Went to Canal Lake with my friend. Two pikes and crappie were invited for fish fry contest This chunky fellow make my day ( 32" / 6 lb 8 oz ), my PB

Finally I have a little bit of time to post. First week we've rented a cottage on Baptiste lake. My daughter's best frind decided to join us for some fun. The weather was cooperating, fish so-so , but we've had fun all week . Girls did some fishing on their own, catching lots of WGSF ( I'm not sure if abreviation is correct ) We did some "serious" boating too I did some fishing too. Pike was biting pretty good, nothing big, just perfect to try new recipe I've even landed some serious fish ( 11" on 5" wacky senko ) Ever time we've opened the door to the cottage this little guy was waiting. This time he wants to grab an apple Then in the middle of the week my friends dropped in to spend some time with us. I've learned from the owner of the cottages that in the entarance to the bay there is good spot for walleyes ( I've noticed ths myself seeing locals every day at sunset ). We have decided to try it in the morning. Around 6:00 AM I've started jigging. Water was flat, drifting very slowly we were moving across the bay. I did not see any structure on the fishfinder just flat bottom at 30'. After an hour we were almost ready to go to different bay ( loaded with pike), when I've hit a "snag". After couple seconds I've realised that the "snag" is pulling out boat against the current . Another few seconds and the fight begin. Next 5 minutes were crazy, the fish was doing everything to shake the hook, but finally I was able to pull it to the side of the boat. Then I've realised that we do not have anything to land this fish, only our bare hands. It was a pike and a BIG one, Of course I did not have a chance to measure it, but to comparing it with my rod, it was at least at the " half way mark" ( of my rod) or better . I was using 7' Compre. My friend tried to grab the tail but on the last efford this magnificient fish showed us the "finger" and went back to the dephts of the bay. Until next time, no pictures, but memory is still alive
