Travel Warning For the Christmas Season In Ontario
keram replied to Garyv's topic in General Discussion
You should not post this info. Ticket scalpers will be doing 200 km/hr + to get four instead of two. After paying fine and other court charges they will still make some money selling them to "leafs fans" -
I know that Tarpus Maximus is already famous , but I need something for winds over 5 km/hr

Thanks guys for an input Great idea, but I think that dozen pickled eggs for breakfest will work muuuuuch better.

This is really a question for hunters ( do not be shy ). O.K. I have some budget to spend on my fishing addiction and I'm thinking about portable Ice shelter. So, if you can chip in . Is there any advantage of having dedicated ice shelter (Frabill, Clam, HT) in comparison to hunting blind. I'm just looking only for something for " windchill days " . So, correct me if I wrong, but I would rather spend 100 $ for blind and spend rest for other toys , or "waste" 300 - 400$ for ice shelter . So the bottom line question is: Can the blind be used for ice fishing ?, any pros and conts??? Thanks in advance

Looks like Ice Fishing for Simcoe Perch are starting to heat up!

Psychic or what . I just hurt my arse (I love this censorship - original version was changed to "donkey" )walking a dog on an ice covered sidewalk -

This reminds me a methods perfected by " Peter Pike" -
Looks like piece of Space Shuttle . Are you going somwhere

So, just out of curiosity, how you call it ?

Never assume the condition of your equipment.. old or new

Good looking piece of 2X4 -
It looks that it was first version of the flasher Welcome, BTW good luck with walleye, pickerel is almost unnoticeable in Ontario waters
-
And it looks that you have all the info already

Just flip the coin

Jury decides about the guilt, yes/not. The sentence is a completely different ball game

Do not even think about it.

I hope I start to understand what you are talking about. You are right that "alternator does not has to has housing. The magnets can be embeded in the engine itself ( stator), but the rotor must has bearing or bushings. It rotates all the time when motor is running There is no "if" here. Alternator generates AC current, This current has to be rectified and regulated to supply correct current to any electronic equipment and to charge your battery ( if you do not believe try to charge your battery, or run any electronics piece on the AC current from the wall plug ( with "step down transformer - to 12 V AC. I won't work and I do not want to be in your house when you try this. This comment suggest that you have older motor ( I do not know ), and as such you do not have alternator, instead you have DC generator, as the name says it generates DC current ( but still has to be regulated), you do not want to charge your battery with 13V at idle and 50V at WOT) I hope. This was a technology in 1960 - 1970 ( +/- few years ) On other post you've said Any outbord with battery charging capabilities must have alternator and there is no if's, but's and or's here. I think we slide little bit from an original question.
-
It is very easy to avoid this. You have to say "I does not talk in English tonque". It works everytime
-
When we are at it, you've forgot to mention housing, bearings or bushings, few nuts and bolts and some washers but we will let it slide

Police searching for man who fell through ice near Stonecliffe An Ontario Provincial Police dive team is searching an isolated lake in eastern Ontario after three men fell through the ice early Sunday. Two of the men were rescued and were taken to hospital in Deep River, where they are recovering from exposure. A third man is still missing. The men were icefishing near Stonecliffe, about 250 kilometres west of Ottawa. http://www.thedailyobserver.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=812400

The kicker alternator won't even notice. Diodes in the bridge rectifier (in voltae regulator) will have "blocking" polarity to any DC current, preventing it to reach alternator.
-
Lets see: I could be wrong ,but The High thrust in my opinion is relevant to the "mechanical performance" not electrical - impossible, considering that it is the same alternator like in "regular kicker"
-
It is not maybe. He is right 100%. use them separately and charge them separately. Just in case one will fail, have a buster cables on board so you can use other one to get to shore.
-
You say it will not charge "any 12V battery" ........hmmmmm....why would Yamaha make a trolling motor (high thrust!) with electric start that can not charge any battery? Sure Yamaha knows that morot will often be used at trolling speed and therefore willneed to be used as charging device...what is the whole idea of having a motor that can not charge your battery...and how do other fisherman out there (must be thousands of them) that use the same motor as kicker charge their batteries?!? Do not get me wrong, I do understand your confusion.. It is about semantics. 12V baterry is not really 12 V, it is usually around 13V. To charge it you need higher voltage to make the current flow. Theoretically 12V battery cannot be charged with any 12 V source. Reason beeing that there is no difference in voltage ( so there is no current ). It is very simlistic way to explain this ( many more factors are involved ), but this is how it works. you can check it very easy by yourself. If you have a simplest possible voltmeter, first open the hood of your car and measure voltage on battery ( it should read around 13 V), now turn on ignition, lights, blower, and the voltage will drop to almost 12 V ( if your battery is bad even lower), now start the engin and the voltage should go up to about 13.5- 13.8 V, and this is why your 12V battery is charged. If after starting the engine you still have only 12 V you are in deep S$$%#t, because you need new battery or new alternator. In the reference to the links you've posted, they provide even more confusion: First: 5000-6000 rpm ( max?) 12V/6A Second: 4500 - 5500 (max?) 12V/10A At the trolling speed your RPMs going yo be likely below 1000 ( how many amps the alternator can supply?? I have no idea
-
Alternator Output 12v / 6 Amps . This is what I have a problem with. 12V is not enough to charge your batteries (as a matter of fact any 12V batteries ), it should be around 13.1 - 13.4V) 6 amps? at what RPM (600 - 700, trolling speed) or 4000+ rpm with FOT ( full open throttle ) It is 100% irrelevant. The charging current depends on the level of discharge ( assuming that both batteries are in the same "physical state" )

Yup , it is just you Glen.
