Cant say I have seen the sign that says Coffee only..... Personally, I like going through the drive thru when ordering sandwiches, because you are priority, so its much faster than going inside!

Unreal.......especially with the cost of the chips!

I was on Rice last week, and like you it was abnormally slow! We only boated 2 bass the whole morning. Mind you one of the ones I got was 4.5 lbs and lost another about that size. We flipped the docks at the marina at Gores Landing with not even a bite! It was pretty bad. Definitely not a typical season for Rice.

Thanks Scott. I have been to the lake before, but it was back in 2004. Caught some really nice Smallmouth, so I am hoping this year will be some of the same! If you will be around the area, you should come fishing for the day! Bring a boat and a buddy and we could have a mini-tournament or something!

I dont have a float tube or anything like that. It would strictly be shore fishing. Am I better to go on the Marina side (east) or the opposite side (west)? I see there is the "Bruce Handscomb Memorial Park" on the west side, am I able to fish from shore there?

I totally agree. Being the Rice Lake area, it was probably just some redneck hick thinking he knows it all and was talking out his . You have a fishing licence...so you are entitled (just like everyone else) to keep a certain amount of fish. Not to mention that sunfish are classified as "panfish" which have no limit. So keep as many as you want! BTW...sunfish are excellent eating. You just need a little patience to clean the suckers!
