  1. Beer could def be included in the deal.....
  2. Anyone on the board that's experienced with decks and patios looking for any work on the side? Shoot me a PM.
  3. Great idea.... however it wont have any effect what-so-ever.
  4. Spinning reels typically have a better/smoother drag system for dropshotting with such light line, that's why I prefer spinning over casting. With that being said...My preference is my Big Bear 7'0 ML Dropshot rod with a Shimano Sustain spinning reel, but I always have a baitcasting setup rigged with a dropshot with a heavier weight/line setup in case there's some structure/cover that would require that little extra strength.
  5. Dual large drift socks.... I'm hoping! Either that... or I'll be using the Minn Kota!
  6. I was there in August, so its a similar time of year, but water might be a little cooler than it was when I was there. Couldn't tell you the exact depth we were running at, but we just cast out as far as we could and let even more line out before engaging the reels. Im guessing the baits were in the 15-20ft range when trolled. As for spots, fish around any island and drop offs. We had a portable sonar and were able to see the drop offs quite easily. Yes, it's def a Simcoe smallie! 6.2 lber!
  7. exactly! I have scotty's and RAM rod holders that will be going on it.
  8. Kawartha Lakes - crankbaits & bucktail jigs (black, black with anything, perch) RIPPED off bottom along weedlines Quinte - a whole different monster. Spring - worm harnesses and shad-type cranks trolled Summer - casting crankbaits along weed edges Fall - trolling Reef Runners or Tail Dancers - vertical jigging spoons & jiggin raps Winter - vertical jigging spoons tipped with multiple minnows If you're going to Quinte, shoot me a PM and I'll get into more detail
  9. They've been eating well! lol Nice fish! gonna taste great!
  10. You betcha! great way to stay RIGHT on top of the fish. Most units (lowrance/humminbird) come with built in flashers, so you dont even have to buy another unit if yours has one!
  11. I found this online last night... and think I am going to go this way... simple and cheap! And with any extra.....
  12. I hear he's a good lookin dude!
  13. Would a lake that shallow be cold enough to support Lakers?
  14. I'm not a laker fisherman by any means... but aren't lakers are typically MUCH deeper this time of the year? 80+ feet
  15. Judging by the depth.....I'm guessing they were wolf packs of Smallies. I was catching Smallies over the weekend in the 30-35ft depth.
  16. Boat goes away when the ice is too thick on Quinte to get through! Ice huts come out soon after and the chase is on for monster eyes!
  17. I hear ya!!!! I've placed about 12 orders with Xzone this year! With at least another one coming to stock up for my upcoming events! Seriously... nothing I've used can even compare to Slammers. My wife even said "wow these slammers work awesome" over the weekend at Bon Echo!
  18. Very cool!!! Great job!
  19. 10000000% use a flouro leader when dropshotting!
  20. Competitive Bass fisherman for most of the year.... Tube - wife's idea, def not mine. Trolling - only for a few weeks in Nov/Dec, but 10lb+ Walleye are addictive just not as much as Bass Plus... being able to fly down the lake at 70mph is a rush like no other!
  21. I've thought about track systems, but like you said pretty pricey. I also dont know if I want the visual of tracks on the boat...and not sure about drilling them into the glass. If I'm gonna drill into the glass, then might as well just go with the Flush Scotty mounts. Cheap, small and out of the way and not an "eyesore" (for lack of better wording). Mounting tracks on the deck is an option, but I wouldnt want them there all year round as they (might) get in the way and dont want to have to re-mount them each year. To drill or not to drill.....
  22. No rails on my boat, but that is def a possibility that I haven't thought of. Just not sure if I want the visual of rails on a bass boat... ya know?
