  1. I would second that. The GEL cells are much more resistant to vibration and shock like you would have been experiencing in the waves on the ride back in. Tony
  2. Great looking boats and matching apparel! Looks like you did well considering the frontal conditions. Is that gull a new PB? Tony
  3. I am still curious, do you roll over when you want to figure-8!?
  4. Probably in it's fourth year of life Johnny. Amazing that they can grow so big so quickly eh? I believe I once read that by mid-august they are capable of putting on 1lb/week of body weight in preparation for their spawning run. Tony
  5. Stoty, didn't mean to be so harsh, but a lot of people just want to know where to go when the bite is hot. Meanwhile other people have put in the time and effort. It's just....well not fair really. douG, Cliff you guys are bang on with the winds, nothing like fishing in shorts and a t-shirt and catching cold water fish in the middle of summer from shore. Browns tend to hang out in shallower than the Chinooks so often they will show up first. However, an extended offshore wind can bring those Chinooks and everything else that swims out deep in close within casting distance. Once mid-August hits, it can be productive at night for Chinooks after a rain or offshore wind. The key is being there at the right time, and you guys certainly cashed in on that with the Browns in July It's always a treat reading your reports, keep them coming. One thing you don't hear about a lot in the summer is people out in boats trolling consistently catching browns. They must be in pretty close to shore, and the guys going after rainbows or chinooks are out too deep to incidentally catch the Browns. Tony
  6. AND in the winter you could store your canoe off the ground across that brace in the A frame
  7. I think dropping the anchor on the floor of the boat or sounds like that are more of a problem than music, unless you have a subwoofer or something big like that on the boat
  8. Awesome fish dude! But a week too early!!! That fish would have made the top 10 in the Great Ontario Salmon Derby. Congrats. Tony
  9. I'm surprised that people actually ask for directions to these spots. It's simple, get out there, go fishing, and experiment. Cliff, don't share anything with people who are looking for the hot bite at your expense. You've located these fish and spent countless hours trying to find different spots, you deserve all the rewards for your effort.
  10. Thanks for putting that together Rick. Although I couldn't make it again this year, the short clip certainly highlights the good times everyone had. I just may be able to be a part of it next year...
  11. Thanks guys. I think I am going to compare exact models/options between the 2 contractors and go with the best priced Carrier system. They both do quality installations so that part at least isn't a concern. Tony
  12. I can get either system listed there for the same price. As far as specs go, all the same with the exception of the less attractive Warranty from Carrier. I'm not saying everyone is sheysters, but it is hard to get an honest opinion when everyone wants your business. Contractor A selling Amana says theirs is the best, Contractor B selling Carrier says theirs is the best, etc. Now you have me thinking Steve...I might go with Carrier...I always over analyze big purchases.
  13. From ZippyVideos.com... How can I download a video to my computer ? Unfortunately this isn't possible at the moment. There may be a way to capture it using a program, check out this link: http://www.canadiancontent.net/tech/downlo...e-Programs.html Disclaimer: Not responsible for any problems caused by these programs
  14. LOL funny replies guys, good friday laugh. Fishnfiend, that is just wrong! but hilarious

  16. Amana Furnace: AMV9 96% AFUE Amana A/C: ASX14 Warranty: Lifetime replacement warranty on both products. So if the compressor or the heat exchanger die, they replace the whole furnace or A/C. 10years on all other parts Carrier Furnace: 58MVB Carrier A/C: 24APA5 Warranty: Lifetime heat exchanger warranty on furnace, 5 year on other parts. 10 year on A/C compressor, 5 year other parts. I understand the Carrier should be more, but I am being offered a deal because it is friend of a friend. I am probably going to go with Amana. Reason being the 1 company sells both and recommended Amana over Carrier. It's hard to trust any of the sheysters
  17. Enough is enough...
  18. Yeah, the installers I have selected are all participating contractors with the cool savings rebate program. I had to let one contrator know he isn't going to get my business because he was not participating in that program. It's $800 in my pocket, I need to take advantage of any and all rebates Tony
  19. I agree with you 100% Stoty. It's difficult being a Status Indian and living a regular lifestyle off of the reservation. Natives living on the reserve frown upon Natives with status off the reserve, and non-natives frown upon natives with status claiming that 'our time is up' for the benefits realized by being a native. It's no different than any other type of stereotyping or discrimination. The fact is that there will always be people who ruin it for others regardless of the situation. Tony
  20. Browns on a Red Devil...now I have seen it all Well done...AGAIN! Tony
  21. So sorry for your loss. I couldn't imagine losing a brother. It sounds like you have many wonderful memories to remember him by, that should ease the pain a bit.
  22. I thought so too Gerritt. I had 4 different quotes and would you believe they all came in at +/- $100!? and different brands too. Bryant is also a Carrier by a different name, yet for the same price, I figured I might as well consider the Carrier.
  23. I think most people do not understand the situation fully. The lack of inaction from the Government is the reason why they are resorting to such drastic measures (and I disagree with the way they are doing it, but I think they are done waiting on the government for results). A little stastic that may help you understand their frustration. At the current rate of government efficiency to resolve the land claim disputes. It would take 183 years to clear the backlog. Now you tell me if you would be ok with someone telling you that the house you bought is up for dispute and you can move in only once they settle the outstanding discrepancies...in 183 years. I am a native myself, and actually I can't fish or hunt anywhere I please (only allowed to in treaty area and I personally follow MNR regs anyway). Please know your facts before spouting off about things you don't understand. It is frustrating, but sometimes drastic measures are required to obtain results. Why the government hasn't done anything (choosing to allow this to happen) is beyond my understanding. Tony
  24. Part of the joys of buying an older house...I have to replace the non functioning A/C and furnace. I have narrowed it down to 2 brands: Amana Carrier Both systems are pretty much identical in specs, what brand is better quality? Tony
