  1. I'd say you came out on top! Never knew they painted stainless props but I would just leave it as is and run it. If it needs some work, maybe I would have the paint stripped but I wouldn't go painting it black.
  2. I only ever had two reels with spool pins that needed to be removed. I didn't want to buy a tool for these two reels so I used a set of channel locks and set it up so that top piece would overhang the bottom piece enough to push the pin out. If done correctly and you take your time, you will not scratch or mar that the shaft at all. The key is taking your time. If I had more reels that would need it, I would have bought the Boca pliers or the Hedgehog tool. If you can get one locally, I would just go that route.
  3. The live target frog is what is tied to the end of my line most of the time. I have work, scum frog and a few others as well
  4. If Bridgenorth doesn't have them, call Ed at Paddletales. He will ship them out to you.
  5. I use a Lifeproof case. Its water proof and not terribly bulky. I have not found a thinner case for the Iphone 6 yet. I am hard on my cases though and they don't tend to last a year.
  6. 67zl1 has the right idea. I have a 100moh jacket and am very satisfied with it. Spend the money once and buy something good instead of buying a new set every year. It is an investment.
  7. That sunfish is the one item I have to have. Looks amazing and that video just sealed the deal. I have an 8.5:1 metanium XG and it has its place and time and works wonders. I don't know if I would ever need to go faster than that though.
  8. I installed a three prong plug and receptacle on my boat for a few reasons. I wanted to be able to remove the TM from the boat easily and have a quick disconnect in case of a surge. I also have a Terrova (election if steer with Ipilot means GPS enabled) and the instructions state never to charge batteries with the TM connected as it can cause issues. To answer your question, yes you can but you may want to look at the benefits first before deciding to go that route.
  9. Maybe a bac rac if you can stick them in one of the storage compartments? They are removable. Also rod socks will reduce tangles. http://www.bac-rac.com
  10. That is true but weights are down this year so far. Weeds have not grown at the same rate so the fish are harder to find.
  11. Most Canadian Tire stores are keystone dealers and you can order almost anything from them. Other than that, go to a truck accessory place and they can help you out. I prefer oval shaped over round tube for the reasons stated above. I have factory ones on my Sierra and I know you can get a set from Ram so there are a tonne of options for you even though you don' t want to order online.
  12. And just a clarification. The 2013 Renegade winning weight of over 27pounds was caught within the St. Lawrence system,. I checked last night with a few guys who fished the event when this occurred and they confirmed that for some reason, they were not able to make the run to Lake O on that day.
  13. Steve, Quote function isn't working but the St. Lawrence offers both smallies and largies but most big bags are all smallies. There are decent sized largies in there that would weigh close to the same amount, but you have to travel and run and gun to find them. I think most anglers target smallies in tournaments because once you find them, you know there are more in the same area. Plus, I find smallies fight more per pound that largies.
  14. I agree the fish could be bigger in Lake O but there are nice sized fish right there. 6 and 7 pounders are getting increasingly common in that area. The 2013 Renegade bass bag for that area was 27pounds. That is a 5.4lb average. The 2014 bag for the same tournament series was 24 pounds. That a 4.8lb average. I have a feeling Charles/Nigel ran to Lake O in 2013 (not 100% sure) so that might not be a great example but I recall the 2014 weights being caught within the St, Lawrence. and that was a back to back 2 day event. 24 pounds for day one and just shy of 24 again on day two. All I am saying is there is no need to got to Lake O. If they have made that area off limits, you will still see large sacks. 20+ a day is my guess although the spawn was slow this year and some weights in that area are down. 18lbs on St. Francis (Other side of the Cornwall dam) and it usually produces the same/slightly bigger than the other areas.
  15. Honestly, There is more than enough fishing spots on that stretch of the river that there is no reason to run to Lake O.
  16. Definitely sounds like you need a new drag disc. Carbontex is an upgrade over the original material used. Buy one and add some drag grease and you will be good to go.
  17. Old Ironmaker, As above, there are different models of the Terrova. From 55lb is 12v, 80 is 24v and 101 and higher (this is for all motors and not just the Terrova) is 36v.
  18. That's awesome! I do need to see a few more pics of that awesome looking John boat though!
  19. Well, if you do get there with the other half's permission, would you really want the added weight of a third deep cycle? Would it be up front with the TM and the other two batteries? I ask because I have an 80 with Ipilot on my Bass Tracker PT190 and it will move the boat at 3MPH on the highest setting. Secondly, just know that the motor sticks out a fair bit (4-6 inches) compared to a cable steer. I bought a quick release bracket for mine so I could still get the cover on the boat.
  20. Brian, As stated below your post by multiple members, it doesn't matter how much a product costs. If you do not take care of it (not saying the OP isn't), it isn't going to hold up. From what I have read, The FXE suit is not Gore-tex but has a latex coating on it for water repellency. Once that coating wears off, it needs to be renewed. I have a BPS 100MPH suit and will be using this stuff at the end of the season to renew it. Why? I want to ensure it lasts a long time. The main difference between these two types of suites is it sounds like the FXE only has the outer water layer protections where as a Gore-Tex rain suit will have a DWR on the exterior and a Gore-Tex Membrane underneath for breathability and added water protection. If I were to not use a product to renew the DWR, The Gore-Tex membrane should in theory keep me dry but the water will soak through the outmost layer. To the OP, do some research before doing anything. Nikwax is what I have had recommended to me but maybe contact the company first and see what they say. To me, your only problem is you need to refresh the repellency but they may have a different view. Unless you are using one of the rubber suites, refreshing the DWR is needed on any of the higher dollar suits.
  21. Check out nikwax. It will restore most of the waterproofing characteristics of most products.
  22. Old Iron Maker, I do not know much about your hull but depending on your preferred trolling speeds, I would imagine you could probably attain most of them with the electronic trolling motor. I bought a Terrova with ipilot (*not link) a few years back and can troll from .5mph to 3.5mph. Now this is on a mod v boats that is 18.5 feet long but I would imagine you may be able to get close to the same. It sounds like you already have wiring for a 24V system so I would suggest selling the kicker, replacing the battery and re installing you old TM or buy a newer one. Like bill said, 90lbs on the transom probably wont make a huge difference but removing the 90lbs and adding some more weight (your trolling motor) to front, probably will.
  23. Dan, If you go and look at the pontoons, take a look at the maximum horsepower rating on them. Originally, Pontoons were made for slowly putting around on the water and speed was not a necessity so 20-40HP was quite common to see. Most of the newer ones in that size range start at a max HP rating of 75 and go up to 200 so like any other boat, it depends on the model.
  24. I have a 2013 sierra and the rims were marketed as aluminum. The ones I have are aluminum rims with the chrome clad covers. I have not had any issue with peeling but know of a few who have had issues with the cladding cracking. It is essentially a piece of plastic that is glued onto the rim... They look good but I would have preferred to have the real thing. Mr Blizzard, I have responded to your PM.
  25. Throw a picture Up here and maybe we will have a few other options. Congrats on the new truck
