  1. I haven't been out on water that had bass in season until today. We smacked a few but didn't get much with any size. My brother got all of his on the zara and I caught 2 really small bass on a jitterbug. I forced myself to use a spinnerbait anytime I put the topwater down. My brother fished that hot opener and had all ready caught a handful of bass before me so his fish don't rank as high as mine, no matter how nice they might be. First bass of the season for me. Action shot Last of the day before picking up the kids
  2. That is about the funniest thing ever written by our friend in the wa, and there has been some doozies.
  3. That's why you would use a single yellow tube. And if there isn't space for that then the only option would be small zip top bags that you could put individual harnesses.
  4. And the reason you can wait is because of the stellar moves made by tank city.
  5. Plenty tied up. Most with quick change clevises. Spare blades, beads and weights inside the yellow tubes. I'll tie new ones on the water if I have to but I hate tying on the water. Too many fish to catch, a boat to control, too wavy and too cold to manipulate fingers for good knots. Compared to the space that all my lures take up a couple dozen harnesses and spare parts is negligible.
  6. I've never needed it. Some experiences will be different.
  7. Snell knot is easy to learn. I usually tie a small snap swivel on the end to attach to what ever I'm using, 3-way or bottom bouncer. I tie a few different set-ups. Smaller blades 10lb flouro now (but mono served me well for a long time). Bigger blades 15-20 lb flouro.
  8. Who would have guessed that doing something stupid and wrecking his hand last year at the golf course would be least embarrassing thing Claude would do with/at a club.
  9. Funny I used to have a neighbour who smoke and drank (and did a few other things) and he would say that every time we put sunscreen on the kids. He would then laugh and cough, and cough and cough. Funny guy.
  10. I started wearing tight woven nylon shirts and pants years ago to keep the mosquitoes from biting. As a secondary benefit it keeps me covered on those long days on the water.
  11. 3 day work weeks are great, now to figure out how to live on 3/5ths the income.

  12. I think you might be thinking of Mike Ribeiro, Stephen Robidas is who the Leafs signed.
  13. That bottle cap is so simple, but so effective when your hands are covered in fish.
  14. Always want them on top but rarely is a spinnerbait the second option for me. It has nothing to do with effectiveness, just preference and habit. Growing up fishing bass in open, rocky lakes if the topwaters weren't working crankbaits or jigs would. Just have to have one tied on to start the day off and go to it when the bass won't come up.
  15. Good on ya. I've been hibernating for 4 days. My perfect weather is 10 degrees cooler and way less humid.
  16. I bought the Cabelas rain suit a few years ago when they had a great deal. Zero complaints about the quality. Just watch out if you are ordering online because at Cabelas midnight black is blue/black. So if you're ever out on the water and see a guy with a red rain jacket and blue/black rain bib on it's likely this guy.
  17. I'm sure all those big time fishing show hosts started out much the same. Thanks for taking the time. Nice spot.
  18. Likely don't need big sales to get people in the doors at first.
  19. No early invite and now no email flyer. I'm a little hurt.
