  1. Cast iron pan on the BBQ side burner and canola oil. Grilled asparagus on the side. No risotto this time though.
  2. Still haven't found the walleyes but the pike have been fooled by husky jerks. No brutes yet.
  3. Awesome stuff. Get him catching worms when it rains (if you're not already) he'll love it and the savings will pay for university. Those "feeder" worms can get expensive.
  4. My wife met him 10-12 years ago. She's not even 5 foot 1. She also did a corporate thing with Curtis Joseph at a Leaf's game a few years ago. Me??? Nothing.
  5. Supply and demand Bri. The more people eating it means your kippers are going to get more expensive.
  6. Ya the rink in Montreal was booked for last Saturday night so the habs played at home at 12:30 instead.
  7. A good host would ask his guest if he wants his eggs over easy.
  8. I may use 4x4's but I figured I'd take a look at what people have done themselves.
  9. I'm guessing Terry caught his fish one at a time... the way it was intended.
  10. It felt heavy for its length. Never put a tape on it because it wasn't that big but it looks even smaller in the photos... Ain't that always the way. Good reason not to take photos of some things.
  11. Funny how an early fish can turn into a slow day. Fishin' will sometimes drive you nuts. Beats a day at home cutting the grass and popping weeds.
  12. Photos please. The system I bought at Canadian Tire would work well enough but my joists are too far apart. I have some ideas on how to build one from 2x4's and some plywood but would like to see what others have done before. thanks
  13. Noth Nothing new there. The US hockey fans, all 7 of them, carry more weight then the ones in Canada. It's really the tv netowrks though, and the relative peanuts that nbc pays the league speaks more loudly then the billions that the Canadian networks pay. Why do you think we had two afternoon games on our long weekend? That triple overtime Memorial Cup elimination game last night/this morning was great. Hope the Oil Kings have something left so the Final is a good game. Guelph is a solid team and they're playing real well.
  14. Very cool, but somewhat unsettling. I'd be most worried about someone running into me. http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20140522/METRO06/305220079#ixzz32ToCJcma
  15. Still found some small ones. This one was on a walleye jigging rod so there was a good fight. Got this bigger one trolling a minnow bait. No eyes again.
  16. The surprising thing is it isn't an escalade.
  17. I hope things work out for you Aaron. I for one would miss the photos that accompany your reports.... That I enjoy for free.
  18. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/newfoundland-labrador/teen-dies-in-frigid-pond-after-fishing-line-gets-stuck-1.2650526?cmp=rss A 17-year-old boy who had been fishing at Barachois Pond Provincial Park on Newfoundland's west coast has died after his fishing line became hooked on something in the water. Bay St. George RCMP received a report from a park warden around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday that the teen could not be found after he was last seen in the water about seven metres from shore. Police said the boy, who was from Stephenville Crossing, swam out to try and free his line. After several minutes in the water, however, he was clearly in distress. Others nearby tried to rescue him, but were not successful, police said. RCMP Cpl. John Butler said the water is colder and deeper than usual, due to snow melting from nearby mountains. "A person going into the water would likely experience the effects of hypothermia quite quickly, within a few minutes, and it's possible that the water depth being different and the hypothermic conditions possibly played a part in this," Butler said. Police, park wardens and ground search and rescue teams used underwater cameras and recovered the body at approximately 11 p.m. It's not clear whether the boy drowned. Police said an autopsy is pending. Butler said alcohol was not a factor in the incident. The boy's name is being withheld for now.
