  1. Hope this link works: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/factsandarguments
  2. Hard to believe it's been 10 years since the ice storm, and now that I think about it it's been 4 and a half years since the big blackout.
  3. When I use siwash hooks I also give them a twist. My thinking is that it should help with hook-ups. I have also done this with the trebles on many of my plugs. I think there is a hook or lure manufacture that has started doing something similar on their trebles.
  4. Do you use a fin or swede bore ice auger over there?
  5. Barrie news said both bodies have now been found. Terrible waste.
  6. The NHL web site has some time lapse photography of the rink being put in at the Bill's stadium. http://www.nhl.tv/team/console?type=fvod&a...4&catid=591 If the direct link doesn't work you can find it at: www.nhl.com
  7. I've never had to buy a hand auger before, and the ones I've used I've only really been concerned with edge on the cutting blades. I'm considering a 6 in to use when the 8 in one is really not necessary. I've never really thought much about the fin-bore / swede-bore stuff before (figured it was some marketing Bull) What is the difference between the two (if any)? And what are the pros/cons of both? No, I won't get a gas auger. I also don't like the looks of the handle to auger connection of most of the models. My current auger has been welded for about 20 years now because of a friend who had too much muscle and not enough technique. Thanks for the help.
  8. At the mall today, I heard of woman say "or as they say in Newfoundland, your a good judge of fish." I'd never heard that one before and just thought that this would be the type of place that would appreciate it more than most. Might be the type of thing that someone would have one their headstone: Was a good judge of fish.
  9. It still only has 2 drumsticks!
  10. "Other than drilling 1 1/8" holes for salom poles... no !" Not sure if that was meant to make me laugh or not but it did. To clarify, if no joke was intended, I have seen a few fishin' shows use a cordless drill attached to a ice auger (6 inch, but as my wife insists, I'm not a good judge of size). I'm not willing to haul a gas auger out but thought this might be an option. I would have thought that keeping the battery warm would be an issue, not to mention the power needed for multiple holes on think ice.
  11. Has anybody here used the cordless power drill option for ice augers?
  12. The report is on mlb.com It is 409 pages!!! Watch the "classic" games from the early to mid 80's. Most of the players have bats bigger than their arms. http://files.mlb.com/mitchrpt.pdf
  13. Thats what my wife said, but she doesn't clean fish????
  14. I was in Barrie court today for the jury pool. It was a criminal case and before they got to me they had their 12 jurors. It still took until noon though. BTW The shield/ crest in the Barrie court was identical as far as I remember, however the text was deferent and definitely Latin, too bad my last class was 20 years ago.
  15. I'm with you Misfish. I have the/a original rapala model with the birch handle that was my dads and a smaller one (4 inch blade maybe) that was my grandfather's "grouse" knife. We'll see how my brother likes it, as I said I don't clean too many big messes of fish anymore (that's what little brothers are for right?), so I don't think it's of much use to me anyway.
  16. They were talking about this on the the Fan 590 this afternoon. I had to look it up on youtube. Apparently this guy has invented a better jock. If the link doesn't work just goggle nutty Buddy. He does stand behind his product, lol. Not sure if it would stand up to a Hull one timer though. And now let the punchlines begin.
  17. Wow! All positive, do you guys get a kickback? I guess I'll get one for my brother, he cleans all my fish anyway If it doesn't work I'm comin' for everyone of ya. Thanks
  18. Thinking of a Christmas gift. Are the electric fillet knifes more gimmick than substance?
  19. In a strange coincident, I saw an ad for Canada's worst driver on the Discover channel on Friday. One of the clips showed the five points intersection where the fire started.
  20. Wow, some of those flies are incredibly lifelike, although I think I tie a better Ephemeroptera. Great shots.
  21. "BTW, wasn’t the Titanic put together with rivets?" I never saw the movie.
  22. How many are in/on the water? Boats to airplanes is apples to oranges. And everybody knows oranges are better.
