  1. Check it out! You may not want to fish anymore. http://www.darkroastedblend.com/2008/04/ou...ld-fishing.html
  2. 900Km is impressive. That is like diesel level. Near double of what I get with Civic Sedan. Like I explain in my post, I drive until Low Fuel Light comes on... and fill up which is exact 40L
  3. How did you test this? have you ran the car till gas totally ran out or something?
  4. 2005 Honda Civic Sedan Automatic 1.7L Gas tank is 50L Fill up at Low Fuel light is right 40L~40.9L Personal best with 40L was 630Km. +/- few Kilometers (Drove until light came on) Depending on how I drove, typical average anywhere from 480Km to 530Km / 40L. Very very rarely I get over 600Km with 40L. In case of ... 480Km/40L, 8.3L/100Km (21.33 MPG) 550Km/40L, 7.27L/100Km (24.35 MPG) 600Km/40L, 6.7L/100Km (26.42 MPG) (Not sure if I did the MPG conversion properly) Following is the Honda's spec. ( I guess this is based on full gas tank of 50L) Fuel consumption City: 7.5 L/100 km (38 mpg) Hwy: 5.7 L/100 km (50 mpg) Wow... real world fuel economy sucks compare to manufacturer spec. (obviously)
  5. You should just visit Port Hope where it is busy. That way you can watch and learn from all those fishermen as to how they are fishing. Probably a better for YOU to learn that way now due to your bitter start with this forum.
  6. Hello. I was just browsing through Flickr site and ran in to this photo of a little boy?girl? holding a pike. Observe.
  7. Which knot would be recommended for hand tying 80lb ? Seaguar Knot for Leader to Main. What other knot(s) should be used to say... leader to swivel ?
  8. It all depend on how much you want to spend. Low to Main stream TV? I would go with LCD. If I had money to spend (High End) I would get Plasma. (Pioneer Elite Series) or If you want best bang for your buck? Look for Sony RearProjection SXRD 50~55". Look around BestBuy and it can be had for $1200. (not listen on their website anymore and can be found in some stores)
  9. Slight off topic. But.. Did you know? Playstation 3 is the best BluRay DVD player !
  10. Hmm... very rewarding.
  11. Nice! BTW,,, have you seen all those smallers trees around there? All chew'd down by that beaver. That damned beaver took down so many trees within very short time. Here are some pictures I took. Enjoy! (*some pictures are taken with my phone camera)
  12. $3 premium membership to view the locations plotted on Google Map ? I sure am not a premium member and I can browse the geocache locations on GoogleMap. Maybe there are more options? I don' tknow.
  13. Well... 1. Yes you can use your Nuvi to do it but lack of features and way it functions may cause frustration. But it's do'able. 2. There is no starting point, there is only final destination (waypoint). Let the GPS take you there and since GPS can not pin point exact spot, once you get very near you should be using the 'hints' giving with the geocache to look for it. 3. There usually is a log book or some sort, you just write down the date/time/comment if you want and see what others have done with it too. 4. I personally use Garmin 60CSx. SEND to GPS function does work with your unit. GeoCache will be listed under with all other waypoints you've added.
  14. @ Deano a.k.a simplyred I was just reading geocaching forum and I knew I saw your avatar... so I had to do some diggin in this forum. I myself recently got into Geocaching and it's a good fun. Good reason to be outdoors. It feels very rewarding aswell... I am liking it a lot. Deano, I also noticed that you have a very good photography skills too... really like your photos too. Man... you must really enjoy outdoors... do some geocaching... same time take some very interesting photos & some fishing
  15. Wow... not only is it a nice fish... but I really how the photo itself is taken & turned out. Nice.
  16. Awesome fish. Since you like to take in-action pictures, maybe you should get one of those head-wearable camera or one of those hidden in the glass frame camera (can be used for other things too if you know what i mean) GG
  17. Regarding a leader, I personally just use a wire leader but a lot of times after one fish I would get a kink and need to replace it... sure it's fairly cheap but cost adds up. So yesterday I went to BPS to buy some tools & supplies to build my own 80lb Seaguar but they didn't have any crimping tools or even the sleeves. Is there any other local fishing stores around GTA that I can buy all the needed tools & supplies ?
  18. With a welcoming like that I guess he won't be participating this forum anymore.
  19. I can never agree with "go learn yourself rather than being spoon fed" terms used so many times. If there are people learning, there are people teaching. Just because someone tells you how to fish doesn't mean she/he can fish, right? You learn and you go apply.
  20. I have been fishing Harbour front and Toronto Island for several years and learned even more about fishing those waters since I have joined this forum. What I do notice about this forum is that reply users give is different depending on who made the post. Ever since I joined this forum I was mainly interested only in urban fishing reports and mostly from Toronto harbour & the Island. Regardless what type of fish pictures with obvious background is posted if it is posted by somewhat well known regular users they get positive feedbacks from others... yet when it is not so regular users who posts a picture with background showing they get flamed for showing the location? I am sure a lot of people agree but won't/doesn't say it... that depending on who made the post they'll receive different replies about sharing locations. Also, regarding what Highdrifter said... "what used to be a few anglers fishing the harbour has turned into a crowd". Fishing is a sports? It just could mean that it is getting popular and growing. I think if a person is new to fishing and see others fishing the local water, they would start fishing the local water and maybe drive little further to others lakes as they get more interested in fishing. Oh and if crowds would eventually cause city to put "No Fishing" sign,,, I guess every river mouth should have been closed for fishing by now? When it comes to crowds nothing beats river fishing, seeing several dozens of fishermen shoulder to shoulder. Now that to me is crowd.
  21. The answer is get it on CD/DVD. No need to talk to GPS/Sonar guys. There is absolutely no need to think about the future compatibility issues. There is absolutely no difference between buying pre-installed microSD card map vs. transfering whatever mix of maps you want into your own microSD card. You can either buy a reel and have them spool up for you or just do it yourself. Same idea.
  22. Why not purchase a DVD instead of microSD card version? With DVD you can install it to your PC via MapSource. Browse it with PC and make waypoinits, routes or whatever you want and upload to your GPS. Plus you can mix and match different map to single microSD card and swap the maps within the GPS intead of phycially swap out memory card to utilize different types of maps. PLUS~ you can not make a backup of your microSD card because the informations on the map is tied to the physical unique serial # of that specific microSD card. So if you damage it or lose it, that is it for you. Where as with a DVD version, like I have said before you can use it on any microSD card you wish whether you mix it with other maps or not. You can also make a safe backup of the DVD. I mean price of 1GB microSD cards can be had for little has under $10. I always recommend anyone buying Garmin maps to buy it on DVD instead of SDcard version. For obvious reasons.
  23. That is superb catch ! Oh I just realized that your member number is '666'. No wonder you're a kick ass fisherman.
  24. Cool Video. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1041343/the_...t_of_the_world/ Enjoy.
