  1. I just read where 3 more Canadian soldiers were killed in Afghanastan this morning. Terrible news !!
  2. WTG Dave and congrats on your 1st ever musky.........that's excellent Good to see the plan came together for you.
  3. Maybe throw a tarp over the ramps to keep them clean Jack ??
  4. Not that it matters Jed, but Jones & Dundas is a loooong ways from East York JUst clarifying the story for you
  5. That's interesting Jack, that floater suits have to be certain colours to be approved by CCG, yet basically any colour is acceptable for a PFD, although bright colours are highly recommended.
  6. Last spring I bought a Calcutta TE 400 from JB's for $385 For comparison, I checked BPS in the States and they wanted $515 for the same reel. Made me happy to shop in Canada
  7. I never get involved in these political discussions Chris, but I've cast my last vote in this country, and that's all I'm gonna say about it. And Holdfast, thanks for all your years of service to our country, but I can sure see where your coming from.
  8. If they've ...."reduced prices on certain rods to make room for the new ones coming in"....wouldn't that be considered a sale ??
  9. Dave, there's also a ramp near the end of Netherby, just where it meets the River Road. I've never used it so have no idea of the condition but Rizzo has been using it and can tell you how it is. It's a couple miles closer than Frenchmens Creek though.
  10. Actually, the only bell that had any real importance and basically the only one that the boyz paid any attention to was "UP SPIRITS" at 11:30 AM Course, that was way back in the good ole days
  11. I was in the Kon-Tiki museum in Oslo Norway many years ago and they had a stuffed whale shark hung under Thor Hyerdals (sp) raft that must have been 30' long.......unbelievable size
  12. I heard that story on CFRB news this morning Mike. Always sad to hear that sorta stuff.
  13. Hey Mike, it sounds to me like your Dad raised a pretty nice son
  14. Be real good to have you back Todd & looking forward to reading the musky tales from you & your dad on the Niagara next season. Sorry you can't get back in time for the 13th, but we'll be there next year again.
  15. Again, why do you think the angler needs to explain anything to you ?? He's not looking for a world record or he would have killed that fish, he just put up a photo of the monster and that's all there should be to the story, but people like you seem to think that everything needs to be explained or proven to you. And exactly how many pictures do you want him to take for you ?? He posted a couple in the boat plus the release shot. You've obviously never caught or held onto a large musky or you'd realise your not exactly holding onto a 4 pound pickeral when they start thrashing around in your arms. Muskies 1/2 that size can be tough to hang onto, yet you think he should just hang onto it while his friends take picture after picture just to prove their story to people like you.
  16. I spose if he was interested in proving anything to anybody, he'd have clubbed that big girl over the head and killed it, but obviously that's not his style and good on him for that. Guess he never thought it was his responsibility to prove himself to a bunch of strangers.....and good on him for that too.
  17. I'm just curious as to why anyone would want to see a photograph of the tape measurements after the angler has already said what the size of this fish was ?? This is one of the main reasons why so many musky fishermen never post pictures or stories of big fish, as it's just not worth the aggravation or doubtful accusations of so many others, and what's even worse, is so very often the remarks come from people who have never caught or even seen a big musky in their lives. It'd be nice to have the angler who caught the monster in this story join this board and tell us some of his other fishing tales, but I kinda doubt that'll happen now that he's basically been called a liar on one of the most read fishing boards in Ontario. We've lost several excellent musky fishermen from this board in the last couple years and comments like these are one of the main reasons they left.
  18. Good to hear you got away with a cheap fix on the motor Roger, cause some of those outboard engine repair bills can be downright scary sometimes. Thanks for the update on the water conditions too.
  19. That's what it's all about and congrats to the angler, it's a monster fish for sure. Without asking for details about the location of that brute, it'd be intersting to know the depth she was caught and the lure that enticed her ??
  20. Sorry you can't join us Darren, but there's always next year.
  21. Very nice, Corvette !!
  22. Very sad to see the way some interesting threads can go into a nose-dive so fast Very sad indeed.....
  23. Lookin purty snazzy there, Dawg.
  24. Thanks SNAG, that was some hilarious stuff & excellent picture takin, and who doesn't need a laff to get the day started ??
  25. Thanks folks, and it's good to hear a couple others are like myself and are content to just mostly take the scenery pics these days. Course, if I get the 50 pounder I'm lookin for on the Niagara on the 13th, I may just grab the camera & take a quick picture of her cram, that eagle was photographed down in the Kawarthas near Peterboro, infact there's a few of them that have been living there for a couple years now. Their absolutely gorgeous birds and it's great to see them moving south. I've seen eagles on Nippissing too but never got a pic of one yet. This is another one that was sitting in the next tree to the one in the other pic I posted, but he took off just as I clicked the camera, but I think the picture is kinda nice, although not really clear.
