  1. musky snack
  2. Thanks for that Mike, it made for a very enjoyable early morning read
  3. You and I will be boating a few muskies together in just over a week Art, and I'm looking forward to it as always
  4. Your gonna be extremely happy with that TE, it's an incredible reel. I got mine at JB's a couple years back they were $130 CHEAPER than BPS.
  5. If BPS doesn't have any, just continue down to JB's. He's only a couple miles further and should have them in stock.
  6. I was casting a few years back and had a musky hit only about 10' from the boat and just under the surface. I got her in quick and popped the hooks easily, but when I released her she couldn't get below the surface. I was holding her tail until she swam off strong but she just stayed on top. It was almost dark when I got her, and I used my flashlight and followed her with my troll motor for more than 2 hours until my battery died. She appeared healthy and strong and was having no problems swimming, but after I couldn't follow her in the dark I decided there was nothing else I could do for her and just headed in. I went back early the next morning and she was no where in sight, so hopefully she eventually got down deep and did OK.
  7. I always support the little guy too Dave, but when they don't have what I need, I hafta to move on to bigger stores. Up this way there aren't any places that carry alot of the stuff I need.

    Rod sleeves

Thanks Chris, I've never done it that way before. I normally just copy the properties and paste but couldn't get it with that site. Guess you really can teach an old dog new tricks http://www.ccrodsocks.com/contactus.htm

    Rod sleeves

Thanks Roy, that's the one. I can't ever get the properties for a link with Google Chrome so I usually just switch back to IE but even that wouldn't work today.
  11. It's always a pain trying to get rods out of the locker cause they always catch on each other, so I finally decided to catch up to the 21st century and order some sleeves for them. I contacted Phil but he didn't have any but he put me on to a guy he knows who makes them. I called the manufacturer and told him that I needed a bunch of sleeves to fit musky rods and he said it wasn't a problem and just tell him exactly what sizes I needed and he made them to custom fit each rod. He made them up, put them in the mail and I had them 2 days later. Fantastic service !! Sure is nice to be able to put them in the lockers and bring them back out without everything getting hung up. They were only $6.00 each and shipping was $9.00 total from Brampton area to my place. Not trying to SPAM here, just passing along some info on a great company to deal with. If anyones interested his website is WWW.CCRODSOCKS.COM For some reason I can't post a link Here's some of the covers. And here they are nicely tucked into the front locker. There's more in a side locker too.
  12. Hey Brian, Diane says if she ever gets her jar back, she'll expect it to be full of beats
  13. Wow, talk about going from happy, to sad, and back to happy again. Sounds like everything worked out great for you guys johnny, and congratulations for that !!!
  14. If I was heading up that way, Ben Beatty is the guy I'd be calling.
  15. Tightlines is good but it brings me closer to Toronto than I ever want to be again, infact even Oshawa is really pushing my limits anymore
  16. Good to see Marc's still treating those big girls well Roy. Couple great pictures there.
  17. Sorry to hear that Bob, best of luck to your wife.
  18. Thanks for the offers Simon & Johnny, very generous of both of you. I've got enough stuff for awhile and will be placing an order to the States in the next month or so and can get everything else I need then too. We've got a good group around here
  19. Looks like I forgot to mention that I STILL didn't get what I was looking for. I use #5 SPRO ball bearing swivels and SAIL doesn't carry them and Gagnon was sold out. Oh well, it was still a nice day for a drive
  20. Yeah, JB's has been my go-to store for years but he's 2 hours away from me now and I have NO interest in driving thru Toronto again....ever again There's not many tackle shops around here and only the very basic musky gear is available, so most times now I just order on-line if I can't find it down in Oshawa.
  21. I'd never doubt your word Brian
  22. I needed some terminal tackle that isn't available around here, and seeing as I had nothing to do to-day, I decided it was a good time to take the 1 hour drive and go down to Oshawa to visit the new SAIL store. First thought was it was alot bigger than I figured it would be and they've also got a large parking lot. When I walked inside and glanced around I was pleasantly surprised at the large selection of outdoor gear they've got and the way it's displayed around the store. I spent an hour wandering around just looking at everything even though I didn't really need much. The staff seemed friendly and I was asked several times if I needed help with anything. The store is well laid out and everything is easy to find. I didn't spend much time comparing prices but was surprised to see them asking ALOT more money for at least one fishing rod. I purchased a St. Croix Legend Tournament musky rod at Gagnons a couple months ago for $260 and SAIL was asking $320 for the exact same rod. If alot of their higher end gear is that much more expensive than other places they may end up losing business. Other than that I was impressed with the store and I'm admittedly kinda confused with all the negative comments about the place I've seen posted here in the past. Anyways, I liked the place and will definetly go back again and just thought I'd share my thoughts......for whatever that's worth
  23. Atta boy Ben !!
  24. Here's a picture I took a few years ago Joey that shows clouds looking similar to yours.
